REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 61 – 70

CHAPTER 69 & 70

PERCHED ON THE HEART

Tesiera’s leather jacket creaked as she made her way to the surveillance room. Just as she reached the door of the surveillance room, her phone buzzed in her pocket. She glanced at the caller ID and saw that it was Big Cat.

“What’s up?” she asked as she answered the call, her voice devoid of any emotion.

“Tesiera, we’ve got everything we need on Jake Blake,” Big Cat said, his voice oozing with satisfaction. “We know the location of his houses, his communication history, everything about his activity. You might wanna come to the house and check this out.”

For the first time in a long time, Tesiera felt a flicker of excitement ignite within her. She turned away from the surveillance room, toward the entrance of the mansion.

“I’m on my way.” she replied, her voice steady but she could literally feel the adrenaline in her system. She ended the call and immediately dialed her own private investigator, gave him an address to send everything they had on Jake Blake.

She gave a security guard the message Kracus had sent to Bose and Clinton, and then, she’d left Kracus a simple text message before walking out of the mansion’s gates.

Change of plans on what I informed you that I needed to take care of. It came earlier than expected. I’ll be back.

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 61 – 70

THREE WEEKS LATER.

The atmosphere in the room was thick with the heavy scent of alcohol, cigarette smoke, and the sounds of men playing Ludo while watching the scene happening on the other end of the room.

The only female present was lying motionless on the bed, her body aching and bruised, her mind clouded by the effects of the drugs she had been given. Despite her disorientation, the young woman was all too aware of the man who was on top of her, thrusting into her mercilessly, inflicting pain that made her cry out in agony.

“S-stop, please,” she cried in a tiny, shaky voice which was barely heard above the grunts of pleasure and the jeering laughter of the other three men playing a Ludo game

As the man atop her slammed into her over and over again, handling her body so roughly, she could only cry and plead with him to have mercy on her, even though she knew it was impossible that he’d listen.

Suddenly the door opened and Jake Blake walked in. He was a fifty year old man, dressed in a black tailored suit, his long hair which was a mixture of black and gray was held stylishly behind his back.

The men playing games quickly abandoned it, rose to their feet and bowed to the boss as he strode in. As he took in the scene on the bed, he sighed exasperatedly.

“How many times do I have to tell all of you not to fuck around with my new goods? Askin, that’s the new merchandise we got two days ago, right?” The boss growled angrily.

The man atop her, Askin, paused and glanced at the boss. He blinked hard to dispel the sweets on his lashes in order to see clearly, “I’m so sorry, boss. I figured our client wouldn’t mind. All our men had taken their share since we got her.” he let out a deep sigh, “I’ll stop now,” he hated saying that because he was already on the verge of release before the interruption.

“Nah, don’t stop on my behalf.” Jake Blake responded with a dismissive wave of his hands, “Finish what you started, we still have time before we deliver her to Dragon.” Even he couldn’t deny that the new merchandise has got a pretty good àss on her, so he understood his men. Plus, he was a generous boss.

“Thank you, boss,” Askin grinned, turned away from the boss and continued what he was doing to the girl who’s tiny cries never abated.

Jake Blake’s men resumed their game, while he watched as Askin roughened the girl up. Afterward, Askin sat beside the boss, smiling like a satisfied Cheshire Cat. The girl rose on shaky legs to leave the room, but Jake Blake ordered her to assume her previous position on the bed for him, because he had an itch to scratch too.

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 61 – 70

After an hour, Jake Blake and his men were on their way to the meeting point of one of their valuable drug suppliers. As they made their way down a shadowy, secret hallway that led to one of the tunnels, Ian, one of Jake’s men, began to speak up hesitantly.

“Boss, I don’t know if I should tell you this,” he began hesitantly.

“What is it?” Jake Blake asked, his tone sharp and commanding.

“Somebody’s been asking around about you,” Ian continued. “Our sources say he might be a private contractor, but no one knows who he is or who he works for.”

Jake Blake didn’t break his stride. He walked on confidently, his hands clasped behind his back and a smug smirk on his face. “A lot of people have asked questions about me over the years, Ian,” he said, his voice dripping with arrogance. “That person is free to come find me. He’ll die, just like all the others who came looking for me in the past.”

His men chuckled, nodding their heads in agreement. Jake Blake feared no one and nothing. He has done a lot of atrocities over the years, gone against a lot of powerful men of the underworld for ages, and gained a lot of enemies. But only a few had been able to get close enough to harm him, which was saying something because he had A LOT of people who wanted to hurt him.

However, they can’t. He had iron clad security, and his men were good at what they did too.

As they emerged from the hallway into the dimly-lit tunnel, Jake spoke again. “Whoever is looking for me is free to come and get himself killed,” he said confidently. “We’ll be ready for him.”

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 61 – 70

“Is everything ready?” Big Cat asked.

Tesiera lounged languidly on the plush couch, her body sunken into the soft cushions. “Yes. I’ve got all I needed, but I’ve been waiting for the man to make a move for three weeks, but so far I’ve gotten nothing. Guess it was expected. A man like him would naturally be a sneaky motherfucker whose moves without leaving footprints.” her posture relaxed and graceful, her eyes surveyed her nails as she added, “I’ve decided to attack him in his resident. The one he’s currently at.”

“Absolutely not,” Big Cat protested firmly and sat up in one swift motion, “It’s heavily guarded. That would be a suicide mission.”

“I have done a lot of suicide missions to last me a lifetime, but here I am, aren’t I? I’ll be fine,” she responded.

“That man has a reputation of never getting caught. We have his security details here, and you saw how complicated they were. You shouldn’t attack him in his home—“

Tesiera waved him off, “If I could make it into Kracussian Kingston’s home without getting caught, I can manage it here. You have no idea how much security that mansion is surrounded in.”

Big Cat relaxed back on his seat. “Kracussian Kingston, huh? Tell me, how is it going with him?”

She simply fixed him with one of those stoic looks she has, “How is what going with him?”

“No, nothing really. It’s just,” the mafia godfather regarded her carefully, as if he saw something she didn’t. “I’ve known you for almost nineteen years, and I think you’ve changed.”

“Changed?” Tesiera’s brow shot to her hairline.

“It’s subtle, those who didn’t know you well wouldn’t even notice, but it’s there. I don’t know if you realize that you’re speaking more these days. The Tesiera I know would make me talk and talk and talk, and she replies in short sentences, monologue or simply nothing. There are other changes to you, I just…” he shook his head incredulously, “I just don’t know how to explain them.”

Tesiera gave him a look that might suggest that he’d hit his head and might be having a concussion, but Big Cat only smiled. “I have no idea what you’re talking about, must be the regular sex messing with your head.” Tesiera said tersely.

Big Cat’s smile got bigger. “You saw her, huh?”

“Milane? Your mistress was grinning at me when I walked in, how the hell could I have missed that?” Her tone sounded disgusted, and it made Big Cat snort in soft laughter.

Milane had been the godfather’s on-and-off mistress for nearly a decade and was one of the very few individuals that got really close to him. Milane was a decent person, Tesiera acknowledged that, but the woman’s overly friendly nature made her feel extremely uncomfortable. Despite being aware of that, Big Cat seemed unconcerned, in fact, that may have fueled him to encourage Milane to visit more frequently over the years.

“Be kind to her, Sierra, she means well.” Big Cat chided softly, amused.

Tesiera rolled her eyes and stood up, “Gotta go, I have a mission to prepare for. I’ll get Jake Blake tomorrow night.”

“Tesiera,” Big Cat’s face turned serious, “Be careful,” a pause, “Please.”

Tesiera’s brows furrowed and it was her turn to regard him, “From what I can see, you’re the one that has gone a bit changing here. What’s with the expressive concern?” she shook her head and headed toward the door, “I’ll be fine.”

As soon as Tesiera stepped into her house, she walked through the living room and dropped her weapons on the couch before heading straight to the bathroom. This time of the night, a long and hot shower sounded great.

As she turned on the water and let it heat up, she took a deep breath, allowing the steam to fill her lungs. She stood under the stream of water for what felt like an eternity, letting the warmth seep into her skin, soothing her muscles.

Tesiera let her thoughts drift as she lathered her hair and body with her favorite lavender-scented shampoo and soap. It’s been three weeks since she saw Kracus, and she couldn’t stop thinking about him. Over the past three weeks, her reaction to that particular anomaly had evolved from confusion, to creating diversion and to acceptance.

Throughout her twenty-eight years of life, she had encountered several men who caught her eye and piqued her interest, yet she had never pursued them further for a reason or another. Despite finding them attractive, none of these men had ever managed to occupy her thoughts. Kracus had not only penetrated her thoughts, he had occupied it for a large significant amount of time and for the first week, it had absolutely confused her. Hell, even the men she’d had, had never made it past her bed to her thoughts.

REVENGE WITH LOVE : CHAPTER 61 – 70

After that stage of confusion, she had moved to creating diversion. She’d distracted herself and buried herself deep into making her next mission perfect but it never erased the thoughts of him. The thoughts of that kiss they’d shared. Now, she’d accepted that Kraccussian Kingston had made it into her life, into her thoughts and lived rent-free on her head.

She thought about him constantly, it was appalling and embarrassing to say the least. Despite having had no sort of contact with him in the last three weeks, she couldn’t get him out of her mind. She knew that the likelihood of him going through the same was slim to none, and she had no idea why the thought of that pissed her off, especially because it was irrational to expect him to feel the same way.

The smell of the soap mingled with the steam, creating a soothing aroma that filled the room. As she was rinsing off the soap, she heard a sudden knock on the front door.

As the sound of the water stopped, she turned off the shower and wrapped herself in a towel. She made her way to the front door, still dripping with water, and peered through the peephole. It was Rex standing outside. she opened the door for him.

“Hey, babe!” he moved closer to hug her but Tesiera made a face and stepped back. He pursed his lips, his arms dropped by his side, “I couldn’t get you for more than a month, I’ve missed you so much.”

“How did you know I was back home, are you spying on me? And What’s with the ‘babe’?” She turned and walked back into her living room. Rex followed, looking happy as ever.

“I’ll never spy on you. One of my men had an errand to run for the big guy and he saw you coming out of his place.” Rex referred to Big Cat as the big guy. He moved around her to get in front of her, “Come on, Sierra, I’ve missed you so much. Didn’t you miss me, just a bit?”

When she simply kept staring at him, his eyes devoured her body, “Just say one word and I’ll take that towel off.” he moved closer and whispered into her ear, “You know I’m gonna make you feel so good.”

“No one has ever made me feel ‘so’ good, Rex.” she deadpanned before she headed to her bedroom, leaving him standing there.

Except for a simple kiss the doc gave you.

Hell. She turned abruptly and stepped into Rex’s personal space. Without a word, she reached out and gently clasped the back of his head, pulling him closer to her. Then, she pressed her lips against his.

That was all Rex needed. He wrapped his arms around her waist with a growl and kissed her hard. As time passed, it felt…pleasant—Rex was afterall one of the few people she actually liked. But it was nothing compared to what she’d thought she’d felt when Kracus kissed her.

When Rex went for her towel, she smacked his wandering hand, broke the kiss and stepped back. “That’s enough. Leave, Rex.”

“Huh? You can’t possibly—“ Rex began.

“I can. Leave, I’m not in the mood today.” she stated firmly.

Rex looked like she’d hurt his feelings, “At least let me cook for us while I’m here—“

“Another time,” she cut off, “Take the door, so I don’t have to push you through it. I need to make more preparations for my mission.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll leave.” He raised his hands in surrender, “I’m going. You owe me a meal.”

“Fine. You can cook next time,” she conceded and he grinned in satisfaction. “Now, the door.”

An hour after Rex left, Tesiera reached for her cellphone, found the number she was looking for and dialed it. The call connected in the second ring.

“Kingston here, how can I help you?” Came the deep familiar of Kracus, and for some reason, the sound of it send shivers down her spine.

“You did something to me, doc.” She sighed in resignation.

“Tesiera?” he asked in recognition.

“This has never happened to me before,” she asserted in a soft tone. “I keep getting sidetracked at the weirdest times because I can’t stop thinking about you. And that kiss we had? Was it as amazing as I’d thought it felt or was it just all in my head? I can’t get you out of my mind, doc. So, tell me, why the hell do I think about you all the time? Why in the devil’s name can’t I stop thinking about you?”
