Chapter 36

“You’re not as light as you look” that charming face said to her with a smile and she blinked.

The person sitting all those while was actually a guy and not just any guy, someone she’s met before.

“Adonis!

“You are okay right? He asked in that sweet voice of his as he helped her stand back on her feet.

“Ye.. yes” she muttered almost like a whisper.

“Good!” He smiled and patted her hair gently.

Pearl kept staring lost at the demigod in front of her. His hoodie wasn’t covering his hair anymore, so they glowed in their majestic white color.

“I didn’t get to know your name last time, he said, snapping her out of her thoughts.

“Pearl! She replied calmly.

“You truly look like one, Adonis responded with a smile.

“Please stop smiling” Pearl pleaded mentally.

“Thanks for helping me, She said and bit her lower lip slightly, feeling embarrassed.

“You’re welcome!

“I have to get going now, she muttered.

“Okay, just try being careful next time, Clumsy Doll! He replied with his charming smile.

“Clumsy Doll? She thought mentally at the name.

“Bye! She said and started leaving hurriedly. As she walked away she could still perceive his sweet scent.

“Why does everything about him have to be so Perfect?

Pearl walked angrily to Amber’s desk and tossed the book loudly on it.

“I sent you to get a book not on a ‘Treasure hunt’, why are you just returning now? Amber glared.

“There’s your book, now stop bothering me” Pearl said and turned to leave.

“Hey! This is not the volume I asked for, Amber smirked, giving her back the book.

Pearl’s head nearly went nuts with her fumed anger. After everything she went through, she ended up saying this trash to her.

“Then go get the right one yourself, she yelled and tossed the book roughly on her face before walking out.

“You brat! Amber gritted her teeth angrily. In her thoughts right now, Pearl has already been buried.

“I’ll make sure I kll you myself, she said to herself as she felt her broken nose.

That was the third time she’s vomiting bI.ood and they were all in large amounts.

She didn’t go outside today, besides her house was built inside the forest.

“Lyra! Lyra! Lyra dear!”

She quickly cleaned herself up as she heard the call of her nanny.

She rushed out of the bathroom to avoid her suspecting anything.

“There you are my sweet rose, the chubby elderly woman smiled warmly as she came into the room.

“Eileen” Lyra smiled and hugged her.

“Thanks for coming back soon”

“I told you I would keep my promise, Eileen smiled, patting her smoothly.

She has been taking care of her since she was little, most of the things Lyra learnt were from her.

“Now tell me, is it getting worse? She asked as they broke the hug.

“No! Lyra lied as she shakes her head negatively, but Eileen knows her too well.

“It’s worse isn’t it? The worried woman said and she sighed, then they went to sit on her bed.

“Don’t worry, we will keep searching till we get a cure”

“It’s no use trying Eil, It can’t be cured! Lyra replied with a dejected look.

“Shh…, Eileen shushed her. “I didn’t train you to give up easily”

“I heard there’s a cure, but it’s yet to be told, she added and there was a spark of hope in Lyra’s eyes.

“Sorry, I put you through so much trouble Eil, she said apologetically.

“Am happy to be at your service my Lady, Eileen replied with a cheerful smile.

“Your mothers are the proudest wherever they’re. Mostly your real mother, for having such a beautiful nymph like you, she added, still smiling as she caressed her face.

“I’m glad to have you too, Lyra said with a smile and hugged her, resting her head on her shoulder.
