The woman whom I presume to be my mother rolled her eyes abruptly from the queen.At that point,I got confused.

seriously will this coronation still take place.It is obvious there is something between the two mothers and mine just called the queen directly by her name “chiamaka” without any title.

everyone excused us,
only me and her were left.
“why did you left me…I was treated badly by papa and onome if not for aunty Tracy I would….
I said as I hugged her.

“am sorry onome caused it all” she said into the hug.
“it’s okay,now am back right?”she said.
I smiled but it came out with tears.

she smiled and felt my skin,she smelt my shoulder as she held me tight.

“what are you eating huni…who took care of you..I never imagined you could be this pretty”she said.
I stayed quiet as she touched me softer.

“you look so healthy…I wonder what I would have been if I hadn’t find you,
you gave me reasons to live,
I feel so special having you as my daughter,
I feel honoured that you didn’t die till I returned,you stayed strong.

now that I have found you,
I won’t allow anyone take you away from me..
I will spoil you for myself with everything I have

you will swim in my attention and get oiled with my wealth,
I won’t stop until the world hears your voice”she said and traced my eyelashes.

I smiled quietly.
Am still finding it difficult to believe that this is my mother,
she smells of wealth.
chai??i was even scared to touch her skin that time we hugged.

she made a call in my presence,telling someone to arrange a quick flight to Dubai for us.
she dropped her call and ask me to start packing my belongings, my jaws dropped down.

lotanna came on my mind,
I was suppose to be his queen today.
I checked time and gosh,20more minutes for him to be crowned.

“you’ve been waiting for me for so long, now that you have seen me don’t you want to leave again”she asked.

the door burst opened,
I turned it was queen chiamaka.

the two mothers look into each others eyes and quietly look away.
there’s really something between them.I think it has to do with why the queen used to call me abomination in the past.

“Adesola”the queen called.
my mother faced her abruptly.

“umm chiamaka I will never be an ingrate and I will like to use this opportunity to thank you and your household for taking my daughter in and not giving her away to the dev!lish onome..

I say a very big thank you for everything and if you want anything in return am really capable of returning it.And besides am leaving with my daughter today.Have heard enough of how bad Adeife was treated in my absence”my mom said.

uhhhhm she knew,
who told her?-I suspect Ngozi.

“Adesola…what else can I do to calm you down?I know you are still angry and whenever you’re angry there’s nothing you can’t say.
please don’t take her away”the queen said.

“why shouldn’t I take her away..why the sudden care umm chiamaka, we were never friends and you never cherish friends”my mother said.

“ummm my son is in love with your daughter….in as much that I want her to stay,I can’t because you are her mother”the queen said.

“says who–
if I had come back poor am very sure you will use your control to hold my daughter down and I won’t allow that—

I watched like a zombie,
my mother picked her bag,she took me by my right hand.
Ready to leave.

“mama…I..I feel pressed”I said.
Although it was a lie.
she left me.and I ran to Lotanna’s suite.

Just 10minutes left and he will be crowned.
i knocked and entered,the projector screen turned off but I caught a little glimpse.I think what happened in the hallway screened.

I closed the suite door quietly,
the guards quickly made way for me, lotanna dismissed them.

“obim(my heart)”I called.
he was standing but his back was turned against me.

“ain’t you going already…isn’t your mom waiting”he asked.

“umm I don’t want to go..She and your mom have issues,they don’t seem to be on good terms..
can you talk to my mom instead” I said,he didn’t reply.

“Baby,you didn’t say something”
I said and went ahead to hug him from the back.
he touched my hand on his waist where I wore the suppose to be queen’s bracelet.

“I don’t want to follow her,use your authority to hold her down.I know you have so much connections”I said

“Ife I have connections but it will be so cruel and inhuman of me to hold you down… she’s your mother don’t you want to be with her”he asked.

I stayed quiet.

“if we are meant to be,
we will be without much stress
although I don’t believe in destiny but I did from the very first day I met you..

that day,you smiled back because you knew we are destined.”
he whispered and kssed my ne.ck .
he unlocked and look in my face.

he watched me for a while,
I too was lost looking in his eyes
then his lips….
my eyes have no control.

Lotanna suddenly looked me in a different way,
our l!ps got closed,we kssed.

I smiled as I tightened the kss
it got intense…we just feel like eating each other up and we planned to do it this night.

I unlocked and look in his eyes.
how does he cope staying with me without going in between my l.egs..
every guys I passed by always try but—–

He kssed my forehead tightly.
I played with the chain he wore. then he grabbed my h!p and leaned in to kss me again,the door burst open.

Lotanna didn’t leave me,
he didn’t bother leaving my hips as he turned to look who was there.
it was my mother–
Ready to take me away.

“guess she’s here to get you…I will get a replacement for today’s coronation but I don’t think I will be able to love any girl”he whispered.

I nodded with a pained expression then he left me,I went to my mother.

“do you love my daughter like for real and not for her beauty.Am quiet aware of the type of life kings live.
After her,you will still get more wives which means your love for my daughter is punishment” she said.

Lotanna turned in a cute smile.”If I had love her for her beauty,I would have taken her pride and take advantage of her not having a family and if perhaps I want her to stay… there’s nothing you can do, guess you’re lucky am not a wicked king” lotanna replied.

I covered my mouth.
He should have begged instead of speaking to my mother in that manner.

“if you’re planning to take my daughter away…it won’t work” my mother said and placed a call.

“suite yourself”lotanna replied.
why is he speaking to my mom like this and what is he up to.

my mom had placed a call to someone.She ended the call and said “no one can take Ife from me”.

A guard came on with lotanna’s gold laided phone,the phone was ringing.
he picked the phone and looked into it quietly then he looked at my mother.

“Salvador?? isn’t that boss of the person you called” he said and placed his call on a loud speaker.

? Mr Nigeria,there is no motive attached to the Mrs Adesola’s action. I plead with you to pardon her manners—

we heard with our own ears.
Lotanna hung up and threw the phone to one of the couch. He then look in my mom’s face.

“If I want to take her forcefully, I will do that without much stress.
You’re so lucky am not a wicked king” he said.
no words from my mother.

“Your highness you can now come out,it’s time for you to wear the crown and we have gotten someone else to act as the que—” the guard paused.

My mother left me.
“what are you waiting for? go and meet him already….” she said.

Lotanna turned in full surprise.
I ran excitedly to his side so we could walk out together.
A guard opened the door for us until my mom spoke.

“wait”she said and came to us.
she took my right hand and fit it into Lotanna’s hand….

“my daughter mustn’t suffer,I just gave her out with my own hand” she said. I smiled.
“Adesola”the queen had called.
“I’m sorry”she said.
“for which crime? well am still angry with you”my mom smiled.

Lotanna and I walked into the hall where he would be crowned.

Everyone stood up,
All the princes stood up,
Jedinna stood up with shock all over his face.

FINALE SEASON 3
??Episode One??

i didn’t kss lotanna back again,
the scream already got much and everyone turned to look at us.

I really can’t say the expression on prince jedioku and prince jedinna means.
why on earth are they staring at lotanna like that?.

“I love you…that’s what I wanted to say” lotanna said and kssed me again.
everyone clapped and my eyes reduced a bit.

“I love you,say it back”he whispered.
i nodded….
“I love…”I couldn’t finish,
onome appeared in the crowd.
“Adeifeee!!! she called my name and I left lotanna and ran away as stares got unbearable,

onome must have come to claim me again.

I kept running till I got to a corner in the palace
then a band of princess stormed in.
Xara,Akunna’s friend was the lead.

she got to where I was and the others surround me like they want to eat me up.
I turned,
they moved with me.

“xara tell your friends to leave”
I said,they didn’t stop surrounding me and I tried walking out, they dragged me back and made me stay at the center.

“Xara let me go”I said.
“chineke eeehh you called my name”
xara said.
one of the girls pulled my hair in a painful manner.

“how dare you plait your hair with my brand of bead”she said and dragged it more tightly,
before I knew it,
another one was trying to pull out my earring,
before I knew it again,another was trying to pull out the bracelet lotanna wear on my wrist as his future queen.

soo many hands on me.
“xara this is not funny at all”I shouted

“and how dare you make Akuna a laughing stock”
xara said and the girls left me for once.

I tried leaving,I was drawn back.
“that doesn’t answer my question”
xara said,
someone pull out my hair and a diamond hair pin fell.

I got annoyed and faced Xara.
“I didn’t make Akuna a laughing stock,she is the one that make herself a plucking stick for plucking shame and if you’re not careful,you will ad well use the same plucking stick to pluck trouble” I said.

Xara stared at me shocked,
maybe she doesn’t know I also have my own side.I’m not too gentle.

“how dare you!! xara said.
“what happened to Akuna was good and in fact great.Akuna have felt so much power and control.

Now,her time have pass and it is my time to feel like a queen..and I won’t spare anyone that try to stop me”
I said.

one of the princesses which I recognize to be Ujunwa came to the front.
“you really got some guts”she said.
“isn’t this the poor girl of yesterday” another said.

“poor but sensible than some senseless classic princesses with broomstick legs” I said and still tried leaving until Chineyen dragged me back.

I hijacked my hand.

I rolled my eyeballs and still tried leaving.

Am very sure the finger prints of shadia is on it.

“shadia its noneof your business here,it would be right if you walk away”nneka said.

“you’ve done enough already,pack yourself out of my father’s palace go and continue the rest at the party ground” amarachi said as she approached.

they stopped ranting,
I got surprised they obey the little Amarachi.

each of them scoffed and went away.
two maids approached,
they took me away.
I don’t know where but I followed them.

they took me to a particular suite,
it was beautiful beyond explanation.
is this where I will be staying now?.

“ma’am, it’s night already”
one of them said.
wait,I heard “ma’am” is my ear functioning well.

“we will be keeping you company…
first you need to take a night bath” on of them said.
I nodded and followed her like a bag of beans.

aaah,the shower was like heaven.
the maids stayed outside the door are I went in.
I got happy.

I formed a song in my heart as I turn on the bath,I stayed long there before tying a t0wel.
I step out,I didn’t see the maids near the door. I proceeded into the bedroom where I met a box.

I opened it and it was a white royal dress…

I tied it on and as usual the shorts didn’t enter me.I keep getting wider in the hips and I wonder why people praise it so much.
I looked at myself in the mirror before finally wearing the jacket.

Olamma’s p.o.v??
what happened at the party didn’t only shock me, it penetrated deep into my bones

Akuna passed out as the shame got much…I mean all those maidens that always hold her in high self esteem ridiculed her

she now becomes play thing in the eyes of those that feared her.
the queen didn’t say anything,
I guess she is still shocked Akuna isn’t what she think she is.

the maids rushed Akuna to golden palace of course
and that Adeife…
I wish I had her type of luck,
she always get good lucks right from when we were younger.

merriment was still going on in the party ground.
there were still lot of people despite the fact that the queen and the crowned princes left.

someone tapped my back,
I turned and it was Arinze,conniption gripped me.

no he wouldn’t, he is a fool.

“we need to talk”he said.
“okay” I smiled in pretence and followed him.
soon we arrived at a bushy path.

“arinze my love” I smiled and wanted to touch his well built muscles but he pulled my hand back.

“what’s that response? care for a night?”I asked.
he didn’t talk.

“is my dress captivating”I said.
“to be frank,I didn’t even see a dress and as for your b0dy,it doesn’t turn me on one bit.
You see your bre@$ts have now turned into a fallen nation.

I covered my mouth.
“don’t be surprised!
*now to the reason I called you—

why have you decided to use me against nkem when you know we are best of friends”he said.

“I don’t get you” I pretend.
He shook his head in anger.”you girls are like leopard and can never change your spots.

he gripped me by my neck painfully.
“it wasn’t me,it was Adann–

nkem passed that moment,
Arinze left me.I know he felt pained but it was all Akuna’s plan.
Arinze left as he couldn’t look at nkem,
nkem also left.

ngozi showed up.

she mocked me.
I fumed in anger has she been listening.

“olamma biko,how am I sure your destiny have not been shifted” she mocked.
I walked out.

I followed mother in quietly,
she still haven’t said anything about Adeife..

“you should learn to be free with the subjects”she said.

“you still haven’t said anything about Adeife.What exactly did the girl do for you? is her heart not clean enough?
or is she not beautiful enough?”
I asked.

If it’s because my wealth is too pronounced,then I don’t mind…
my wealth is too pronounced doesn’t mean anything.

that girl had sacrificed enoght for me and yet you’re silent..

“Mother,the ministers are around”
Jedinna interrupts.
mother sighed and left.

I also turned to leave.
“you said that all for a slave…lotanna have you forgotten who you are?”
Jedinna asked.

“a slave right? love is too serious” I said and strolled quietly into my suite..

I switched on all my phones,
so many messages..
so many calls.

I picked lots of call,didn’t believe I did that till midnight.
I started putting my phones on flight modes again…I don’t want disturbance.

Adeife,where’s she??
I miss her already, have always wanted this opportunity when we would just be alone.

I walked upper into my suite,there was a door that combined two rooms together,I opened it and met her sleeping already on the bed.

she didn’t put off the lights,
I dimmed it and entered….she opened her eyes and quickly closed it…

next she used the bed spread to cover her face then a pillow..

“go to your room already” she said.
“I will,until you follow me”I said.
she removed the pillow first then unc0vered her b0dy.

she then stood and wore the black room slippers.
why is she holding her night wear like that? is she cold.
she still tied a wrapper on the nightwear.
I watched her like a movie.

then i switched off her room light when she came close enough.
I touched her and sent my hand to her back her b0dy is warm enough then why so many cloths.

“are you looking for something”
she asked..
“not really”I replied and she waited as I locked her room door.
we proceed downwards to my room.

she quickly walk to the bed,
I dimmed the lights,she had put demarcation on the bed.
I put on my bed foam slippers and slept.She turned and helped me unfix the royal bead that was deeped in my hair then she wedged it with a white band aid.

“can you just remove that wrapper?
do you need to tie it when you’ve already worn a nightie”I said.

“hunn! she said.
“never mind”I replied and watched her…dropped it quietly in my jewelry box,she came back to b.ed.

I stood up.
“lotanna, do you need something” she added.
“headache”I said.
she sprang up and came to me like a flash–

is this how much you care for me?
“I will feel your headache” she said and stood on her toes to touch my toes,I hugged her…

this is what I want,not headache.
“I will get drugs”she said.
“in this cold weather…I cancel every spirit of weather” I said.

“i will—

I shut her up by kssing her eyes.
my hands brushed into her butt0cks where I felt something.

“Ife stay away…don’t try going there you might not return alive”ngozi said.

“but he is in pains and has not open his eyes since yesterday…is that nothing to you?why are you telling me not to go,if he dies I will suffer”
I said in confusion.

I looked back at old Nana,
why is she suddenly staring at me.
should I run away since his mother warned me to stay away.

the queen who was as calm as a flower, kind as an angel…
but after how she spoke to me like I was nothing…I don’t know her anymore.
she humiliated me and my emotions and throw me away like some cheap vegetables.

suddenly she’s not the person I know
she’s not the same person I am looking up to…

ngozi started leaving,
i don’t feel like following her,
I don’t know how I feel,
my heart isn’t even with me.

“Ife do you still want to help him?”
old Nana asked.
“yes,I will help him…can I have the pot”I said.
ngozi turned in shock.
she didn’t say anything because I already collect the pot from old Nana

“you really want to go…
remember the river is very cold and you will have to fetch water from there 202times with all your heart”
she said.

“I know” I said.
ngozi looked at me but didn’t say anything.
I turned to leave,she followed me.

“ngozi you don’t need to follow me, what if your mother start looking for you? you know I don’t have a mother that will look for me-perhaps you should stop copying me”
I said as I walked faster.

I walked more faster but she caught up with me.

“don’t think am trying to be a,third party in your relationship with Lotanna, I know you love each other but am concerned about you going there with little hope of returning” she said.

finally,we saw the idol
it was a big carved iron sculpture in form of a small baby boy,
it was present just at the entrance of the ev!l forest avd the river was down in the opposite direction.

“that river is always coldest at midnight are you sure you can fetch water 202times from there”
ngozi said.
I sighed and gave her the candle to hold for me.
she too was scared,
she stayed in a place that is a bit far from the ev!l forest.

The deadly sounds got much,
but I have no choice,Lotanna is in pains—

I walked down to fetch water,
the river was coldest,
as cold as a deep freezer.
I started shivering..

“15” ngozi counted as I poured.

“snake snake!!! Ife move back”.
ngozi wailed.
I moved back in fear, ngozi was fast to hit a big stone on the snake head.

“Ife are you sure you can do this?
this is just the fifteenth time and you’re looking so stressed out already” she said.

“i don’t know if I can…but I will try.
He always stood for me too–

I continued fetching,
ngozi counted, she was looking around as well.
I was now soaked,
the cold was too much.

all because of you,am getting cold.

Jedinna’s p.o.v?
I stood at the garden waiting forb the maid;what’s her name again?
chioma right?.

soon,she arrived.
“meet me in my room” I said and left
she met me in my suite,
I locked the door when she moved in fully.

“prince Jedinna” she called.
I turned to her.”did you say something?”I asked.

“but my prince,you didn’t tell me it’s your brother you want to us the p0ison for, he will die”.
she said in a very scared manner.

“don’t you want to be the future queen if I ascend the throne?”I asked.
she smiled and picked on her fingers s*xily.

“that would be a dream come true” she said wholeheartedly an hugged me.
“let’s seal it with another round if sx” I said..
she unlocked from the hug and walked into the be.droom.

“go,I will meet you” I said and entered the bathroom,
I had a quick shower and tied a white t0wel.
my phone rang- I picked it and it turns out to be “Jerry Carter”.

“Lotanna is getting cold”mother said.

the priest moved in.
“but he is breathing” one of the physician’s said.
mother calmed down and moved to lay his head on her l@ps,
then she ran her fingers on his cute face..

“Lotanna,get well”nkem said.
“mother why not fly him out” I said.
“no flight is available this moment” she replied…

Mother still covered him well but I was quick to see the bracelet on his left arm..
why is he wearing that?.
is he the king already—
I huffed.

Lotanna gasped like he will die that moment….
he opened his eyes…
“obim!!! mother smiled, the physician got shocked.

Lotanna shut his eyes back.
g0sh what’s the meaning of all these!
he didn’t open his eyes again!

“love is too serious!
“101more times and a sweet voice singing in his ears,he will be fine and open his eyes totally”

the priest said and walked out.
what does he mean,I don’t seem to understand for he speak in parables..

Lotanna stared at me so differently in a coded manner,he was obviously speaking to me with eyes i felt sweetness from the inside as he stared as if he has never seen a lady, i got crazily nervous,
but am happy it was him…he would be the first guy to stare at me in such true manner..
I could feel the sweetness despite the darkness.

I wish I understand eyes expression too but my mother wasn’t there to teach me.

He wanted to say something,i took my hands away and ran to meet nkem.

I sang with you cos I know music is your life but am very sorry I can’t stay in as much as you wish,

if not for anything,am grateful for giving me the hope to believe,
I know I won’t stay but trust me,
I would be the kindest person you will ever see,
though I have my own temperaments too,my personality is not great am just nothing,

I don’t want to come closer,
we are two different people,
we are two different lives,
we are two different worlds,
where ever your ship stand,mine might sink,
just that I always smile like the world isn’t my problem..

we heard approaching footsteps,
the sounds made from the dried leaves made nkem come back to his senses,
he held my hands, we both ran away.

we catch our breath as we approached the palace gate.
I stayed outside and allowed nkem to go in first.

no matter what,am still always scared of onome and my father.Its too painful that all the pain I felt is because of singing,
the fear for them is too strong cos there is no sign of mother in my life.

“your stepmother left already”
nkem came out.
I followed him in quietly,
the securities looked at me and stared at each other in confusion.

? omg! nkem with a girl!

nkem scoffed when he heard gossips from the maids outside.
“isn’t it time to sleep” he said to them in an authoritative manner,

I heard her muttering.
I couldn’t reply,she might not believe.

I really think I was spelled.

“just stay well” nkem said and dipped his hands into his pocket.

he turned.

we entered the main door.
I almost froze when I saw my reflection on a mirror door.

Aunty Tracy came downstairs,
Akuna was also coming out with three servants behind her.

hmmm she’s still here,
hope she will leave tomorrow? the insults she gave me earlier was much.

“this is not Ife right?” aunty tracy said
“am the one” I said,lowly.
my voice now sounds better compared to before.

Akuna turned back,Jedinna stopped pressing phone and look up.
even my fellow maids covered their mouths.
Akuna looked so annoyed,
she scoffed and left instantly.

This Princess Akuna is really stupid, does she thinks am interested in Lotanna?? has she ever heard it in history that a maid marry a crowned prince or a soon to be king…
Am not even allowed to touch his cup not to talk of getting close to him.

“Waooow,never knew she is this pretty but is this normal,I see it as superstition… someone that is ugly turning into the most rarest creature; isn’t God great” Tracy said.
Jedinna chewed his gum quietly and tried focusing on his phone..
He stared at me one more time and rushed upstairs..

“no,its not superstition it is real, she was spelled by some wicked soul, life is really wicked,they can do and undo” nkem said..
“okay,you can go” Tracy said…
nkem left.

I faced aunty Tracy shyly.
hmmm I better get use to being treated nicely.
only her,ngozi,nkem are godsent to me…

“follow me” she said.
I followed her quietly upstairs, we passed these stairway before we got to her suite in the massive mansion.

We entered her room.
“your step mother came, she talked about having you back” she said.
Aaaah death finally remembered me.
without much words,
I felt heated up.

“would I return to her?
I will get flogged with cutlass for singing and she will make me fetch water till midnight.” I said with a pained expression.
Tracy smiled.

“if you should go back,she will spoil your life totally,not even now that you’re pretty…men might take advantage of you.
Just pray she doesn’t fulfil the conditions I gave her” Tracy said.

“ma’am….. she will fulfill it so that she can take me, she is more dangerous than a demon…I don’t want to go” I said as i remembered I don’t have a mother.

“she would take advantage of the fact that I don’t have a mother,
she always beat me,beat me like a cow,she makes me feels hopeless; is my sin that much” I almost cried.
Aunty Tracy smiled,
she hugged me with so much care.
she sighed.

“don’t let me go,she would ask me to go and work for someone that will have sex with me” I said.
she signed.

“aunty are you sure she will not fulfill the condition you gave her,she will do anything to spoil my life,I know her very well cos I lived with her since I was little” I said.

she still sighed.
finally,I left her……
“I would leave,it’s raining already” I said..
she nodded and i left.

I passed Lotanna’s door,it was still locked.
by this time???
ohh my gosh,is he still at the waterfall? this rain is getting heavy..
I turned away sadly and went to the maids quater- a separate building at the back of the palace.

the girls already slept, I sat on my bed and stared into the window.
the rain keeps getting much,
I imagined how Lotanna would survive such cold conditions,he has health issues.

soon, someone knocked on the door. I heard and went to answer it,
I opened the door,the person rushed in,it turns out to be Princess Akuna.

“what did I tell you about your dressings? is this how maids dress!..
she rants.

ohhh,she’s here to remind me that am a maid.
“did you say something?” she shouted, dumebi woke up.
her eyes cleared the moment she saw me…

“no,my princess I didn’t say anything, it was aunty Tracy that said I should wear it,she bought it for me” I said..
“and your hair,remove those beads you’re not worth it” she said.
“the beads can’t remove, Ebere plait it in a way that it can only remove if I loose the hair and I just plait the hair today.Aunty Tracy said I will carry the hair for two weeks before loosing it”
I said…

she pointed a finger at me and left angrily…
“sorry are you a new maid?” dumebi came to me..
I ignored her and went to my bed, not until mrs okafor called me to carry a hot flask to lotanna’s suite

Lotanna’s p.o.v
Am glad it was you,
even though i won’t speak to you now,even though i won’t tell you how i feel right now,
I hope you will wait for me…even if you won’t stay.
right now,I really can’t speak in words but i hope you understand what I mean through expressions…..

Love is a thing i can’t say for now but I hope,I just hope you understand coding….

I fell on my pillow,I felt so cold.
what I need right now is hot water!.
I removed the lens I stick to my eyes.
my phone rang..

“I know my unveiling as glow ambassador is on Thursday, you don’t have to remind me about that..
I would be home, either tomorrow or next tomorrow” I said and hung up.
I felt so cold as I checked my laptop for the mails have missed.
yeah,my oil and gas company is doing well..

the projector screened,someone must be at the door.
I tied a red bandana and fit my feet halfly into a white room slippers.

“Akuna is that you?” I asked as I got to the living room.
“no no,it’s me…a maid” I heard.
I opened the door,
It’s that same girl….Adeife right?..

She was with a flask…
why is love with her different? if I loose her,I won’t try falling in love again..

I allowed her enter,she hastily drop the flask on the dinning and hurried back to the door in a scared manner.
“can I have your hand,I didn’t finish what I was writing there” I said.
“aaah,what if some-
she paused her statement,
cleaned her hand on her cloth and gave it to me….
I had better play this game with her perfectly.As it stands now,I don’t think she knows anything..

“ummm sir…” she said soonest, I was actually done.
I left her hand.

Episode 21???

I rushed to the door,
one of the maids must have dropped it,I opened the door widely and saw a retreating figure of a maid, she was on a red dress wrapper worst still she has lots of visible fresh cane marks all over her body.
I didn’t get to see her face,
but does it means she dropped lotanna’s bracelet.
finally,she was out of sight, the queen came with amarachi.

“what are you staring at?”,
she snapped her fingers.
I jolted out of my thoughts and move away from the entrance,
she entered in full.

“Lotanna has opened his eyes” I heard her say,I left the door and went in to stay beside Lotanna.
Jidenna also came in alongside with Nkem.

“what do you remember last?”,
I asked,he shut his opened eyes.
mother lift him by his head with so much care; it was really obvious.
she doesn’t play with Lotanna health or anything concerning him.
“mother easy,that place still pain” amarachi said and went over.
Jidenna stared at him with so much emotions.
“does it still hurts?”, he asked.
Lotanna finally opened his eyes, amarachi rush out to get the doctor.
He checked his state of health and left after injecting him with three different injections.
“so Lotanna who hit you?”, I asked.
he shut his eyes in a snubing manner.
no reply*no words*no answers.

I bite my lips in a worrisome manner,he is actually shutting me out
“Lotanna can’t you just respect me half of how I love you,am your elder sister…you do not always listen to me,why?”, I said.
“can’t you understand he can’t talk for now,I feel like his head is still hurting me” jidenna said.
I shot him a glare.”where are you when this happened,and you,nkem where are you?”, I asked.
I breathed in relief.

I continued my work with a good feeling,so cute I was able to return his bracelet without much stress.

the girls chit chat as they passed.
I was happy she left,
akuna is found of using maids any how,no wonder they always run away more reasons why I always avoid her, her bullying,
everything about her.

I finish up with my work and returned to the maids quarter,I got refreshed and begged dumebi to plait my hair which she did willingly.
“we are free for the rest of today”.
she said.
“yeah,I know” I replied.
“do you plan on attending evening show” she asked.
“is it free?”, I asked.
“yeah,and verrry exciting” she said.
“okay” I replied.
“why okay,it is just a show that makes everyone happy” she said as she finish up with my hair.
“thanks for your time” I said,
she smiled as I went back to my bed.

it was evening,they were all dressed and won’t be back until midnight some might even return very early tomorrow.
I know that show,it is verrrry interesting and they usually organize it once in every two months.Some would sing,dance, tell stories, they have groups and each groups do things that brings happiness.
it has never been boring according to how ngozi explained it,the last time she wanted me to follow her,I ended up crying because onome banned me from doing things that would bring my happiness,her daughter olamma is a bigger headache in my life that at times,I wish I don’t exist.
onome would bath me with hot water and lock me up without foods until I ended up with the believe that dreams do not come true.

I’m not yet ready to fight her for I have no reason to do it.
am so silly,I wonder why on one didn’t call me for work as usual.
maybe because tomorrow is the day,
the day I will finally leave this palace and go back to her.
Adeife why is your life so pathetic?
I think so much until I slept.

Lotanna came on my mind,I wish I can stop thinking about him,I dreamt about him.
we talked so much in my dream,
he held my waist and Kssed me for so long,he took me to places in my dream,I felt so special he bought me new things in my dream.
“promise me you will always be with me in my dying moments” he said and stretched his pretty hand for me to take.oh so cute.

I woke up with a pounding headache.
why am I so silly?
waking up when am suppose to tell him my promise.
even though he doesn’t talk to me in real life,he sees me in my dreams.

I better sleep again,I slept again.
I saw my mom but she left me again, she came back but left again.
I cried on my bed.
? mom,why did you die? I miss you so much,I wish I have a good stepmother too.
I cried till I slept.

I woke up in a fright as I heard a knock on the door.maybe Mrs okagor is here to remind me that my stay here is over.
I breathed in as I opened the door,
it turned out to be Tracy; Lotanna’s sister…
I was shocked,
what’s she doing here?.

“good morning ma’am” I greeted as I covered my face.
“do you have any ointment?”, she asked,meekly.
“yes ma’am” I said and turned to my laugage section,she also entered.
“you’re the only one here, why didn’t you follow other maids to yesterday’s show?”, she asked while I searched for ointment.

“I….I…I…” I stammered as I remembered onome.
my tears gosh,I quickly replace it with a smile.
“here is the ointment, hope you don’t mind it’s from me” I said and handed to her with respect (both hands).

She stared at me,I looked away so she won’t get a clear sight of my ugliness.
“you got so much marks on your skin, why?”, she asked.
“nothing,I used to play rough right from childhood” I said.
I smiled out tears,I just lied.

my tears fell on her hand,I hastily wiped it completely.
“sorry,am stupid” I said.
“you were the girl I gave pomade, did you use it at all?”, she asked.
“yes am really using it” I said.
its a lie,onome actually seized it from me…

“and why are your marks still fresh, don’t you know you’re a lady”,
she said.
“I already know how to endure pains…my step mother always beat me beat me with cutlass,too bad am going back to her this morning, she is my guardian and she have authority over my decisions….”
I covered my mouth,
she’s actually making me talk.
I now felt so uncomfortable,I told her about what am passing through..

why was she even asking?
does she knows me from somewhere before?…
she sighed and left.
I started packing my things,
onome please be nice!.
I left the palace.

“where is your support?”, she asked.
‘thank goodness you’re back,my dirty clothes are waiting for you” olamma rants from inside.
“the support” onome said.
“I don’t have any support,I already gave you all my savings” I said.
“you’re seriously becoming lazy” she said…
“I promise I will work harder” I said and hurriedly pack olamma’s cloths it was much cos she didn’t wash for ten days.

I washed her clothes and spread them,and even wait till it dried before packing them home in the afternoon.

I met six big cows in our compound,
when did onome start rearing cows?.
I passed the backyard, something was cooking up in the kitchen, three different pots, three different soups.
I left the kitchen and went in to drop olamma’s cloth.

“your luck finally provide huge amount of money for mama and papa” olamma said as I arranged her clothes.
I decided to rest by sitting on the floor,I stared at the beautiful set of dresses on her bed dreamingly.
onome came in.
“sorry for resting” I stood up in a fright.She didn’t talk much.

“your buyers are waiting for you outside” onome said.
papa also came in with palmwine,he looks like he is celebrating something;
but my dad is okay in terms of wealth,what would he approve selling me as onome wants.
what if I die???
does he not care about me,I don’t mind if it is 2%.
.
“fast,they are waiting” she said.
“who did you sell,me or olamma?”, I asked…
“you of course,I will be collecting allowance every month since you always find it difficult to provide your support” she said.

chimoooooooooooo!!!!

“you know the rules,you are only a maid to the person.Don’t you dare do what I banned you against! she said.

chimoooo!!!!!
I looked at my dad.
“what are you waiting for,start packing?”, he said.
waaaaaaattttt!.
“no need they will buy her cloth”
onome said and dragged me out.
“your buyer will soon be here,good luck,work well there” she said and locked the door.
I continue knocking, I don’t even know if I should cry.

Ngozi passed,it was that moment I cried….
“what happened?”, she asked.
“onome sold me! I said.
“to who?” she asked.
“my friend have you packed your loads” I heard voices.
ngozi and I turned,it was Nkem with two other royal guards.

“Nkem,you bought me?”, I asked as I felt shocked.
