THE MAN IN MY DREAMS : CHAPTER 31 – 40

Chapter Forty

Barbie made breakfast for everyone that morning. As she served the meal, looking so hot in her short and apron, she saw Erica walking into the dinning room.

“Hey Erica” she said as her lips curved into a smile.

“Hi” Erica slowly muttered. She didn’t know when her eyes turn to stare at Calvin and Kelvin who were busy with their phones.

“You are just in time for breakfast!” She said and pulled out a chair for her.

“Thanks” she murmured and sat on the chair.

“Okay… I made breakfast today. And I hope you all like it” she announced but her brother’s weren’t listening to her.

Erica cleared her throat and they all came back from the dreamland.

“Oh, hey Barbie” Calvin said.

“Are you kidding me? I’ve been standing here for the past thirty minutes and you didn’t know I was the one here” she said. It was evident that she was upset.

“Sorry, we have a lot of things to do since the company has…”

“I understand… For now, all phones on the table!” She said and banged her hands on the table.

“Hey people!”
Erica turned and saw Ava behind. She was happy within.

She kissed Erica’s forehead and sat beside Calvin.
“What’s up girlfriend?!” She said and looked round. She could see that they were shocked to see her.

“Great, you are here. Please help set up the table” Barbie said and head to the kitchen.
Ava rolled her eyes and followed Barbie into the kitchen.

They both brought the meals from the kitchen and dished them out.

“Give that plate to Calvin”. Barbie said to Ava.
She grabbed it and placed it in front of Kelvin.

Barbie glared at her.
“I said Calvin. That’s Kelvin” she said.

“Oh” Ava said and switched the plates.

“You don’t know who is who?” Barbie asked and passed the next plate to Erica.

“It’s really hard to tell” she replied.

“I see. What about you Erica? Do you know who is who?” She asked.

“Uh… I sometimes do” she smiled weirdly, holding her cup of tea in her hand.

“Then we have to do something to differentiate you two” Barbie suggested.

The guys didn’t even stare at her. They just ate their toast silently.

“What could they possibly do? They are way to identical” Ava said and sat to have her own breakfast.

“One of them have to grow a moustache” Barbie said and folded her arms.

Calvin and Kelvin both raised their head and glared at their sister.

“What the fk are you talking about?” Calvin asked.

Barbie smirked and sat with them. She was expecting question and expression on their faces.

“Yes, and one of you have to do it” she said.

“I’m not. I’m not growing that sh!t on my precious face” Calvin said.

“Fine then, Kelvin will” Barbie said.

Kelvin raised his head and shot a hard glare at Barbie.
“I tried my best” she said and started eating.

“I like that. One of them have to grow a moustache for everyone to know who is who”

“But who?”

“There should be a little competition between them” Erica smirked.

Calvin and Kelvin turned to stare at Erica. They were giving her a questioning look.

“What? Are you scared of losing?” She asked, teasingly. She wanted them to enter for the competition.

“I’m not a loser. I can win and won’t have to grow that disgusting thing” Calvin said.

“Good, what about you?… Kelvin” she said. She wished she never called his name.

“Wait… If I win, what do I get?” Calvin quickly asked.

“The winner gets to date Erica for a month” Barbie said.

“Yes… Wait what?” Erica asked, giving Barbie a what the fk look.

“Come on, it’s just a month” she winked.

Erica rolled her eyes and started eating.

“Nice… The competition would start after breakfast!” Ava announced.

“Court rise!!!”

The judge slammed his little hammer and the court was adjourned.

The lawyer was happy that he won the case.
He held his suitcase tight as he walked out of the court room.

Josh appeared in front of him.
“Hello attorney James” he greeted.

“Who are you?” He asked, with a frown on his face.

“I’m detective Josh and I have some questions for you” he said.

James moved back slowly.

“I have no idea who and what you are talking about. I don’t know who Mr Bruno is” James tried to deny. He sat in the interrogation room with Josh in front of him.

“For the last time, what did you do with Mr Bruno’s properties?” He asked, placing his hand on the table that was between them.

“I said I don’t know what you are talking about. Who the hell is Bruno? What properties?”

“Fine, send in the other suspect” Josh said to one of the watch guard.
He left and came in few minutes later with Winnie.

James sighted Winnie and turned away. He wondered what she was doing here.

“Why are you hiding your face? Does she look strange to you?” Josh asked.

“I don’t know…. What..you are talking about” he stammered, still looking away.

“Oh really! James!” Winnie yelled.

“What?!” He yelled in reply.

“I have to leave this fking station okay. I need you to get Erica’s properties back”

“After so many years, it’s going to be difficult” James said.

“Oh now, you admit you sold them. You two have to find a way to get those properties back, everyone of them. You have three days. If not, you’ll both end up in jail”

Winnie heard that and got more worried.
“Come on James, we have to work together” she said.

“Fine” he rolled his eyes.

“What’s the plan then?”

“All the properties documents were fake. Mr Bruno never gave me the real documents so….”

“Then let’s find the real documents” she said.

“We’ll do this and return everything to Erica”

“Remember you have three days. For now, you two will banned from traveling. Both my air or land”

“Sure..” she said and stretched her hands for Josh to take off his handcuffs.
He removed it and slipped it in his back pockets. He watched as they both hurried out of the station.

“Okay! The competition will start in two minutes. There are no rules for this games except to… Whatever, no rules!” Barbie announced. They were in the small hall in the mansion.

Erica just sat down, watching them. She didn’t believe they would even participate in the game.

“It has fully commence… The first round, you’ll have to blow a bubble and lead one of it pass the ring light in front of you. You have only two chances” Ava said.

Barbie blew the whistle and they started.
Calvin quickly picked the bottle amd blew the bubble.
Kelvin still walked majestically towards the bottle before picking it up.

Calvin blew the bubble and lead them through the ring light but they popped before it went through.

Kelvin blew his bubble but didn’t lead any of them. He just stood and watched them as they went towards the ring light. The pass the ring light but not through it.

“You both have the last chance” Ava said again.

Calvin exhaled deeply before trying again. He slowly led them and luckily they pass through.

“Yes!!” He cheered.

Erica’s lips curved into a mocking smile. She was staring at her childish boss.

Kelvin did what he did the other time and still no wins.

“Okay, wonderful Calvin won this round. We will be moving to the next game. You have thirty seconds to stack those cups and unstack them” Ava said.

Barbie blew the whistle and they both walked towards the second table.

Calvin was pretty fast with stacking. He stacked the cups quickly and unstack them while Kelvin hasn’t even separated them already.

“Okay… We have a winner already. I never thought it would be this fast. Calvin wins, Kelvin has to grow the moustache and Calvin has to date Erica” Barbie winked.

Erica shook her head. She stood up and walked towards Calvin with her crutches.

“Congratulations..” she smiled.

Barbie pulled Kelvin’s hand to a corner.
“Why did you do that?” She asked.

“Do what?” He asked, not showing any bit of interest in what Barbie was going to say.

“I made all your favorite games but you didn’t even do anything”

“I don’t feel like” he replied.

“Then, you could have said that so we do it later or tomorrow” she said.

“Why do you want me to win?” He frowned.

“I know you like Erica more than Calvin does. It’s written over you but only I can see it”

“Then I’ll go take my bath so that I can wash it off” he said and walked out on him.

“Kel.. Kelvin!” Barbie yelled but he didn’t stop at all.

Everyone watched as Kelvin stormed out of the hall.
Erica started to think why he did that.

“What’s up with him?” She murmured.

“Why do I even care?” She thought and turned to Calvin.

Harris was in the sitting room with his kids, watching TV.
He heard the doorbell followed by a hard bang on the door.

“Who’s that?” He yelled and walked towards the door.

He turned the keys and twisted the handle.
Suddenly, his wife followed by James entered.

“Hunnie?!” He greeted.

Winnie turned to him and sIap him.
“Je.rk!” She said and walked into the room with James.

Sally and Sean both watched everything that happened.
Harris turned to his kids and smiled at them with his hands still on his cheek.

“Stay right there, I’ll be back” he said and went into the room.

“Check that cupboard”
He heard as he entered into his room.

“What are you looking for?” Harris asked.

“And… Who is this creepy man?”

“I’m not here to listen to you or answer you dmn question”

“Fine, can you tell me why you are mad at me?”

“Found something!” James yelled. He found a document and opened it.

“Oh, they are just certificates” he said and threw them on the floor.

“Well, my stupid husband never visited me while I was away!” She yelled.

“Shhh, don’t let the kids hear you. I told them you travelled. I didn’t have the opportunity to come visit you because they were on holiday. I have to stay with them all day and all night. They asked of you all the time and what do you expect me to say?”

“Fine” she rudely replied and continue looking for the documents.

“Now, can you tell me what you are looking for?” He asked.

“Bruno’s properties papers… We need to find them and soon!” She replied as she searched under the bed.

“You won’t find them here. They are in Erica’s room”

Winnie and James turned and stare at Harris.
