THE MAN IN MY DREAMS : CHAPTER 31 – 40

Chapter Thirty Five

Kelvin sat with Erica all through the night. He didn’t even close his eyes for a second. He hoped that she move again or probably wake up but he didn’t want her to see him here. He doesn’t want to care but he can’t help himself when it comes to Erica.

He stared at the wristwatch and saw that it was almost 6a.m.
He sprung up and left the room. He went straight to the doctor and warned him not to let anyone knows about his arrival.
He nodded and watched as Kelvin majestically walked out of the hospital.

Ava appeared few minutes after he left with some food and clothes.
She stood outside the door waiting for the doctor to come out already.

“Welcome miss” he greeted as he sighted Ava.

“Hello doc. How’s she?”

“Well, she’s getting better” the doctor said with a smile.

Ava’s face brightened up.
“Oh, thank goodness. Can I…”

“Sure you can. Just keep it low” he said and left.

Ava rushed into the room and sat with her friend. She wasn’t wearing the oxygen mask anymore. It was evident that she was getting better.

Immediately, George rushed into the room and moved towards his sister.
“Oh no… Erica?!” He burst into hot tears. He couldn’t believe what just happened to his sister.

“You have to calm down George… She’s getting better” Ava tried to calm him down.

“Don’t tell me that. Look at the condition she’s in. I wasn’t there to protect her” he said, leaning his head on the bed as he cried the more.

Ava secretly rolled her eyes. He didn’t know how her state was before now.

“Well, her boss was there to save her before the bomb exploded. It was meant to kll her by blowing her into bits” Ava tried to explain.

“I should thank him” he raised his head, finally.

Suddenly, Calvin walked into the room with some two hefty men in black suit. Josh followed behind.

“How’s she?” He asked Ava.

“Very well” she replied.

He nodded and turned to face Erica’s new bodyguard.
“You have to stay with her and protect her. If she’s to be klled by the anonymous culprit, you have to die first. Is that clear?!”

“Yes master!” They chorused and went into position.

Calvin turned and faced Josh. He was a little bit angry that morning.
“I know Erica’s case is none of my business but I want this culprit caught as soon as possible. He mustn’t attack any one again”

“I understand sir. We are trying our possible best but we can’t know who it is or where he is attacking from” Josh replied.

“I don’t give a dmn. Find the culprit and make him pay for everything he has caused for Erica and he family. Until the culprit be found, she would be under my care and under my roof!” He said with anger in his voice.

“Yes sir. We’ll investigate the case more carefully” Josh said and stared at Erica before leaving the room.

Calvin went closer to Erica and held her hand.
George moved away from them, giving them some space.

“Thank you for saving my sister” he said.

“I didn’t, Kelvin did. You should be careful also. The culprit as attacked you once and he will attack again”

“You don’t need to help us. You’ve done enough Sir” George said calmly.

“I haven’t done anything. You don’t need to worry” Calvin said and faced Erica.

“The doctor said she moved her hand…”

“I heard it from him already. What’s left is for her to open her eyes” he said and brushed his hand to her hair.
He stroke her hair slowly, wishing that she wakes up already.

“You’ve just arrived. You should go home and have some rest”

“No. I want to stay here with Erica till she wakes up” he said and sat on the couch.
Ava sat with him and sighed.

“Who’s doing all of this?… I should probably check on that id!ot” Ava thought and sprung up.

“I’ll be right back. Incase you are hungry, some food are in the flask” she said and left the hospital.

Kelvin marched into the house and saw head to his room.
As he closed the door, the chair turned with Barbie sitting on it.

“Where have you been?” She asked.

Kelvin frowned and took off his jacket.
“Why are you asking?” He asked.

“Just wanna know..” she furrowed her eyebrows.

“I went to visit a friend…”

“You are my brother, Kelvin. You have no friends” she stood up and walked towards him.

“Barbie leave my room” he quickly said and walked away from her.

“You know what I think… You’ve been with Erica all night”

“What makes you think so?” He squeezed his face, trying not to make any suspicious expression.

“I was never with Erica. Besides you said visiting time was over. So why would I…”

“It’s alright. I won’t talk too much. I know how to get my answers” she said and catwalked out of the room.

Kelvin locked the door behind and went to have a long bath.

“Where is that id!ot?!!” Ava yelled as she barged into Dylan’s house.

He walked out of the room and smirked.
“Look who came to see this beautiful morning” he said.

“Why did you plant the bomb to kll Erica? I thought you had a heart!” She yelled.

“Of course I do. It’s in my chest”

“Why are you even back to this town? Just leave already, I don’t want to see your face. I know you have a hand in what happened to Erica” she pointed at him.

Dylan quickly grabbed her finger and pulled her closer to his body.
“Shhh, it’s okay. I’m not the one responsible for it. Even if I don’t really like Erica, I wouldn’t try to kll her. I’m no kller”

Ava was feeling uncomfortable with the way she was close to her friend’s ex boyfriend. Their body was rubbing against each other. She could hear her heart beating fast, looking for a way to run out of her chest. She quickly took a step back and exhaled deeply.

Dylan noticed her move and smirked again.
He bit he lower lips, wearing a mocking smile.

“Why are you moving away from me? Huh? Don’t you want me anymore?”

Immediately, Ava sIapped him across the face.
He touched his cheek and smiled.

“Sweet sIap baby. I know you deeply regret what happened between us that night but it’s all fate”

“I curse the day I met you Dylan. I never want to see you again” Ava turned to leave but Dylan stopped her.

“Well, I bless the day I met you. If I’d not leave town, I would have gotten married to you and not my present wife”

Ava didn’t believe he was married and he was still acting like a j.erk.
“Are you kidding me? You are married and still…”

“It’s okay. She won’t know about anything, not even Erica” he said and leaned forward to Erica. He started kissing her neck while she tried to pull him away from her body.

“Get off me…” She yelled but he was way too strong for her.
He wrapped his huge hands around her tiny waist.

She finally raised her knees in full force and hit him at the spot.
“Argh!” He groaned and fell on the floor.
Ava picked her bag and stared at him.
She kicked him before leaving the house.

Dylan laid on the floor, groaning in pain. He didn’t expect Ava to hit hard. He was too weak to stand up.

Ava was in the bus back to the hospital. She started thinking about what happened years ago between she and Dylan. She wished that day didn’t come at all.

It happened on Halloween day after Erica, Ava, Olivia and Dylan were coming back from the little night party at school.

“What are you going to do when you get home?” Dylan asked Erica.

“Nothing. My aunt hates halloween” she replied.

“Then let’s have a final party at my place” he said.

“What about your parents?” Ava asked.

“They are out of the country and would be back till Monday” he said.

“Well, I have to go home. Mom will be worried” Olivia said and walked away.

Ava and Dylan turned to face Erica.
“What about you?”

“Well, aunt Winnie doesn’t care about my well-being so.. let’s go” she said. Dylan clapped his hands happily and took them to his house. He placed his hands over Erica shoulders which she threw away.

“Stop it” she was shyly. Ava could see the disappointed in Dylan’s eyes.

They got to his house and started to drink. They drank till midnight. Erica was super drunk and already sleepy. So as Ava but she wasn’t sleeping. She was watching h®rror movie with Dylan.

“I should probably take her inside” Dylan said and took Erica into his room. He came back and sat with Ava. The movie finished.

“What a boring ending!” Ava rolled her eyes.

“I have a romance movies if you want. My sister watch it a lot” he said and showed it to her.

“No way. You have to be above eighteen if you have to watch that” she said.

“Does it matter? We are seventeen and will be eighteen soon” he said and put the movie.

“Fine, but we won’t watch much. Just a little” she said. Dylan pushed the play button and the movie started. It all started with a lady who was walking into the house. Her husband welcomed her with a rmantic kss.
She smiled and went into the room to have a shower.

“This isn’t so bad” Ava scoffed.

“You guess?” He smirked, waiting for what happens next.

Suddenly the camera showed how she bath. Her body was exposed.
Ava swallowed hard and slowly stared at Dylan. She started rubbing her feet together.

“Aren’t you supposed to close yourself?” She asked.

“Nope… I’m loving it” he said and winked at her.

Ava shook her head and turned to face the television.
She saw the man entering he shower also nked.

“That’s it.. I’m no longer watching this sht” she said and walked away. Dylan grabbed her hand and pulled her back to sit.

“Just watch what happens next” he said.

“Are you ¢razy? This is prngraphy not any rmance movie”

“It’s the same thing” he said trying to defend himself.

Ava moved away from him.
“You own the so called movie not your sister, huh?”

“Yes, I do and I have a lot of them. What are you going to do? Report me to your friend”

“You are…”
She got interrupted when she heard the loud m*an from the television. Her mouth dropped open, she couldn’t believe she was watching this type of video with a boy by herself.

Dylan saw as she watched the movie. He drew closer to her, carcassing her laps.
“It would be more interesting if we practice it” he said in a whisper.

“No, not me” she beat his hands off.

“Then who? My so called girlfriend is a dumba**! She won’t let me touch her”

“I don’t know. You have to deal with it that way. I can’t sleep with you!” She said and faced the television again.

She saw the lady scking the man and squeezed her face.
“This is disgusting” she said and wanted to leave again.

Dylan grabbed her hand and placed it on his trouser.
“I can’t let you leave Ava. Just this once” he said.

“I can’t” she said, shaking her head.

He didn’t even let her say anymore word before pushing his lips to hers. He started kssing her lips as their tongues twisted in each other mouth.

Dylan withdraw back and stared at Ava.
“See… It’s nothing” he said.

Ava scoffed and climbed Dylan. She sat on his laps as she kssed him again. This time, deeply.
Dylan placed his hands on her bvm and squeezed them tight.

Suddenly, they heard something breaking behind them.
They turned but didn’t see anything.

“It’s gonna rain” she said.

“Sounds sweet” he said and started taking off her halloween costume.

“Dylan….go easy on me” she pleaded.

“Yes, your majesty” he said and they fell on the chair.
