Chapter Thirty Nine

Erica showed Ava round the house the was Barbie did.
As she walked pass Kelvin’s office, she knew he was there. She remembered the way he yelled at her again.

“Come on, let’s go to the pool. It’s more cooler” she said and head to the pool.

“I don’t see Barbie anywhere” Ava said.

“Well, she went to shoot a little movie. She would be back soon”

“Okay? Seem like you two are getting along quickly” Ava said with a little jealousy in her voice.

“Yeah, she’s nice. She is not as I thought she was” Erica said.

Ava quickly stopped and stood in front of Erica.
“Erica! I am your best and favorite friend. I don’t want any id!ot to replace me”

“No one will ever replace you” Erica said and touched her nose like a child.

“Even if I d!e, I…”

“Shut up Ava. No one is dying!. I didn’t dream about what happened to you, doesn’t it seem weird?”

“You are sick, maybe” Ava replied.

Erica sighed.
“Yeah, maybe” she said and went into the pool. It was quite different from yesterday.

It was more brighter and clearer.
Now, the lights were off and the pool was filled with steam. It was like it was hot water pool.

“Woah, It’s really beautiful” Ava said, furrowing her eyebrows.

“Since it’s hot, do you want to swim?” Erica asked Ava.

“Yeah, do I have to say yes?!” She said and stared taking off her dress.

She saw Erica wasn’t taking off hers.
“Aren’t you gonna swim?” She asked.

Erica gave her a really face.

“Oh, I forgot. You aren’t a fish” she said and jumped into the water.

Erica watched as Ava jumped into the water. She couldn’t see her in the pool because of the steam.

Ava went deep in the water and turned and saw someone in the water and tried to scream.
She quickly get her head out of the water and screamed all she wanted.

Erica heard her and quickly walked to her.
“Ava?” She called out.

Ava got out of the water and touched Erica’s arm.
“Someone is lying d.ead in the water”

“What are you saying? Lying de.ad?”

“A de.ad person is in the water!” She said again.

“How can a dead person be in the water? Who is that? Besides, once a person is de.ad, he floats!”

“I have no idea what you are talking about. I need to turn the lights on” Ava looked for the switch.

Erica walked to the other side of the pool, trying to check the person.

Suddenly, the lights came on.
She strained her eyes and saw that it was one of the twin.
But she can’t tell who it was.

“Calvin or Kelvin?” She murmured.

Ava suddenly jumped into the water again and helped him out. He was floating on the water.

“You need to do something Erica!” Ava said.

“What can I do?” She asked
They both sat on the ground.

“I don’t know. Try mouth to mouth resuscitation… You know”

“No way, I’m not going to” she said.

“You have to…” Ava quickly said.

“Why me? Why can’t you do it?” Erica asked, trying to avoid everything.

“He’s your boss” she said.

Erica stared at him again. She couldn’t really tell who it was.

“I can’t” she said again.

“Fine, I’ll find his brother” Ava said and left the pool.

Erica stared at him, sucking in her lips.
“What if he d!es because I don’t do it? I’m going to blame myself if he d!es” Erica thought.

“I should just do it” she murmured and gathered her hair to her back. She drew her face closer to his face.

As her nose touched his, she shot her eyes wide open and stared at him. His eyes was open already.

“Are you trying to kss me?”
Erica heard his annoying voice. That was when she knew it was Kelvin. She threw her head back and watched him as he sat up.

“I wasn’t trying any sht with you” she said and tried to stand up.

“Whatever. Who brought me out of the water?” He asked.

Erica didn’t say anything.
She grabbed her crutches and walked towards the door. Ava and Calvin entered into the pool.

“Is he back?” Ava asked.

“Let’s go Ava” Erica said and left.

Calvin walked towards his brother and threw him a towel.
“Practicing your buoyancy again?” He asked.

“Those ladies are creepy. I can’t have my peace here” he said and left.

Calvin scoffed and left the pool.

“What happened?” Ava asked as she entered into Erica’s room.

“Trying to save that dummy’s life but he just finds way to upset me” she replied and threw her crutches. She sank into her bed.

“Did he say anything?” She asked and sat beside her.

“Never mind, I don’t want to talk about it” she said and ruffled her hair.

“Oh really, fine then. I have to go back home. Calvin told me to quit my job”

“He did?” She asked.

“Yeah, he wants me to become his brother’s assistant”

“What?! That’s wonderful!” Erica cheered.

“I know right. We are going to be colleagues and the best part is that we are together”

“Yeah, about your boss. You are going to hate him” Erica rolled her eyes.

“Why do you say so?” Ava asked.

“Kelvin isn’t a nice person. You have to be harsh to him if he’s harsh to you”

“Yes ma’am” she said and grabbed her bag.

“Have a good day then”

Ava stopped and returned Erica’s card.
“Thank you”

She smiled and collected it back.
“Bye” she whispered.

Ava waved and left with her new bodyguard.

Erica locked her door behind and laid on the bed. She had a lot of things in her mind, especially Kelvin.

Olivia and Dylan were ok the bed, having fun when they heard a female voice.

“Hunnie!”

Olivia sat up and stared at Dylan.
“Who’s that?”

“I have no idea but… The voice sounds familiar” he said. He was hoping it is not who he thought it is.

Olivia left the bed and went to the sitting room with the bed sheet wrapped on her chest.

“Who are you?” She asked the lady.
The lady turned and stared at Olivia. She was shocked to see her.
The lady was very muscular and huge. She was bigger than Dylan.

“Who are… You?” The lady asked in reply.

“I’m here to visit my boyfriend” Olivia said and folded her arms.

“Oh nice. Dylan!!” She yelled again, this time louder.

Dylan appeared and saw his wife, Jay.
“Holy sht” he murmured.

“Baby!!” He said with a happy face and hugged her.

Jay pushed him and nodded towards Olivia.
“Who is she?” She asked.

Dylan turned and face Olivia. He started pretending to cry.

“She broke into my house while I was asleep and she…”

“That explains why the door was open” Jay growled angrily and matched towards Olivia.

Olivia stepped away from Jay.
“How can you say that Dylan? Why are you lying?!”

Jay caught her hand and threw her out of the house.
She pulled the bedsheets from her.

“Stay away from my husband! And my house!” She yelled and slammed the door at his face.

Dylan swallowed hard. This was the reason he left town. He wanted to stay away his scary rich wife who turns out to be a boxer.

“How was the tournament baby?” He asked.

“It was good. I won the championship!” She said without smiling. But she was happy.

“That’s good baby. I should get you something to eat” he said and quickly left the sitting room. He hid Olivia’s dress and left the house.

He was glad that she wasn’t a much talker.
He got outside and saw Olivia looking into the dumpster for some dress.

He grabbed her and shoved her into his car.
“I’m sorry”

Olivia sIapped him.
“That’s for lying!”
She sI.apped him the second time.

“That’s for not telling me that you are married”

“I couldn’t. I’m sorry” he said and handed her dress to her.

“Why didn’t you tell me she was coming?”

“Because she doesn’t tell. That’s her way of surprising me” he said and started the car.

“Why did you even marry her? She’s dumb”

Dylan didn’t want to talk. He hated when his wife was around.
Less romantic nights, eating a lot of food especially junks.

Dylan didn’t even want to think about it. He wished he didn’t marry her at all. He did because of her wealth. She was very rich and… Strong.
