“An..gelo”

Angelo quickly turned to face Melody with wide eyes.

His eyes widened more when he saw Melody’s eyes were slightly parted and she stared at the ceiling with weak eyes.

“Mel… Melody” Angelo muttered.

She slowly turned her head to him and smiled slightly with her pale lips.

“Melody,,, you’re are awake” Angelo said as tears escaped his eyes.

“Hmm” Boris mumbled, waking up.

“Boris,, bro” Melody muttered, stretching her hands forward.

Boris immediately began crying loudly as he held Melody’s hand.

“I’m so happy you’re awake sis…” Boris smiled.

“Don’t cry…thought…you’re a strong kid” Melody muttered.

Angelo just smiled, cleaning his tears as he watched them.

“You scared the sht out of us Mel..” Angelo said

“Sorry” She muttered.

“Let me call doctor Ingrid…” Boris rushed out of the ward.

Angelo now sat closer to Melody. He took her hand and kssed it, too happy to finally see her awake. He brushed her hair off her forehead and placed a kss there.

“I saw my late father…” Melody muttered.

“He asked me to come back and be with you guys. To always protect my mom and Boris and make them proud” Melody said with a smile on her lips.

“I’m glad…” Angelo replied.

The door opened and Andrew rushed in the ward, looking so worried.

“Mel!” He said and pushed Angelo away, sitting next to Melody.

“Are you okay? Gosh!, I was so happy when I saw your brother and he told me you finally woke up.” Andrew said with a smile on his lips.

“I’m fine Andy” Melody said with a smile on her lips.

“No you’re not!, you almost lost your life… If you did, then I’m not sure I can take it” Andrew said and kssed her hand.

Angelo just watched them without saying a word..

Ingrid walked in with a smile on her, followed by Boris.

“Welcome back among us Melody” She said

“Please, the patient needs some rest. If you can excuse us while I check her vitals” Ingrid said.

Andrew placed a kss on Melody’s forehead before leaving with Angelo and Boris. He didn’t even spare a glance at Angelo as he sat down on an empty seat.

Boris and Angelo sat next to each other, opposite Andrew. Boris looked at Andrew while frowning.

“I don’t like this guy…” Boris whispered to Angelo’s ears.

“Same with me” Angelo whispered back and they continued looking at Andrew who was pressing his phone.

“I think you’re way more cuter than him, and I prefer you as my sister’s boyfriend” Boris said…

“Huh?” Angelo’s exclaimed in surprise.

“Come on… I’m 10 and will soon be 11 next month and I also have a brain. I know you like my sister, and I also see you sneaking in her room each night to wish her goodnight. So long as you buy me an Xbox, you have my accord to date my sister” Boris said.

Angelo laughed and shook his head.

“Well its a deal” Angelo replied…

“But if you make my big sis cry,,, I’ll béat you” Boris said, showing his fists which was tiny as compared to that of Angelo.

“Okay boss, I promise” Angelo laughed.

Boris laughed along with him. Andrew looked up at them and rolled his eyes.

“Really? That’s so cool! I’ll make sure to pass by” Stephanie said and hung up before facing Scarlett who was typing.

“Melody finally woke up!!” Stephanie said.

“That’s nice” Scarlett replied with no enthusiasm in her voice.

Stephanie furrowed her brows.

“What’s wrong Scar” Stephanie asked.

“Nothing, it’s not important” Scarlett replied.

Stephanie sighed and made Scarlett face her.

“Scarlett tell me, what’s wrong…” Stephanie asked.

Scarlett sadly looked down and sighed.

“It’s Raymond. He said he doesn’t love me” Scarlett said.

“Huh?”

Scarlett nodded abd explained everything to Stephanie without leaving out something.

“Such a jerk!, He’s gonna hear from me just wait” Stephanie gritted her teeth.

“Like I don’t know, at first I thought he felt the same way but he just didn’t know how to say it I mean, who will kss someone he doesn’t love. He was all romantic and…I fell so hard for him, only for him to come and tell me he doesn’t love me. I’m so dumb” Scarlett said, fighting back her tears.

“Shh!, baby. Remember our twin rule…No 01, never cry for love..though I broke the rule several times but you Scarlett you’re better than this..” Stephanie said.

Scarlett just listened.

“If I remember clearly, tomorrow will mark the end of your agreement… I’m sorry to say it sis but you can’t force love, if it’s not meant to be just let it go…” Stephanie said

“But.. I love him so much” Scarlett muttered.

“I know babe and I know it can take months for you to get over it but that’s just it…” Stephanie said, patting her hair.

Scarlett went silent for a while..

“I guess you’re right” Scarlett said.

Stephanie just patted her hair. She stood up from her seat.

“Let me get you something to drink, you need it” Stephanie said and left the office.

She went to the coffee brewing machine and brought out a cup.

“What you doing?”

Stephanie jolted, almost spilling out the coffee. She turned to see Nathan standing behind her.

“You scared me” Stephanie pouted.

“What you doing?” Nathan asked again.

“Oh, I’m getting coffee for my sister coz she needs it…yunno heartbreak” Stephanie said.

“Okay” Nathan said.

Stephanie pouted and frowned.

“You dyed your hair black? But why,,, I love yoir blonde hair” Stephanie pouted.

Nathan chuckled and took a step closer to her. She took back till she was backing the walls.

“Tell me do you still love Mr Donovan?” Nathan asked.

Stephanie thought for a while and shook her head.

“You don’t..” Nathan smiled.

“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you can be this close to me” Stephanie pushed him back.

She took few steps and stopped before turning back to Nathan.

“But I don’t mind you being close to me” Stephanie winked and left.

“Did she just flirt with me?” Nathan thought, smiling sheepishly.

Ingrid’s Hospital**

“Can you feel this leg?” Ingrid asked, pressing Melody’s left leg.

Melody nodded.

“What of this one?” She asked and Melody nodded.

“Good, can you try to lift your left leg?” Ingrid asked

Melody nodded. She lifted her left leg slightly but her back pained her so she dropped it down.

“Good now, your right”

Mrs Parker was here earlier but she left with Boris to get Melody some clean clothes and food. Now it’s just Angelo and Phoebe who just arrived.

They both watched as Ingrid did some checkups to Melody. Once she was through, she turned and faced them.

“Well the best news is that her vitals are quite okay but she’ll have to stay here for like two weeks or so” Ingrid said.

“Two weeks! I can’t” Melody pouted.

“But it’s for your good…” Phoebe replied.

Melody just pouted. Ingrid left the ward and Angelo and Phoebe now came closer to her.

“You never told me you were living now with Ethan” Melody said.

“Sorry…wanted to tell you the day that all these started” Phoebe said.

“I’m glad. It’s preferable you leave with a sx freàk than a bunch of se..rial kllers” Melody said and Phoebe chuckled.

“You said ever since you two began living together, he hasn’t brought a girl home?” Angelo asked and Phoebe nodded.

“That’s not the Ethan that I know…” Angelo muttered.

Phoebe’s phone began ringing, well Ethan got it for her. They argued for half an hour before she accepted to collect the phone.

“It’s him again…” Phoebe groaned and left the ward to pick Ethan’s call.

Angelo watched Phoebe leave before he turned at Melody. He began staring at her while smiling.

“What? Why you looking at me like that?” Melody asked.

“I missed staring at those eyes…” Angelo replied.

“Me too” Melody smiled.

She began struggling to sit up

“No, you should lay down…” Angelo said but Melody paid deaf ears.

She managed to sit up though with great difficulties. Angelo placed a pillow to support her back.

Melody raised her hand and cupped Angelo’s cheek with a smile on her lips.

Angelo smiled, remembering the words she said before passing out in his hands.

“I know this isn’t the right place nor time to bring this issue up but do you really mean what you said the other day…” Angelo asked.

Melody nodded and then Angelo felt his heart leap for joy.

“I do… I really love you too Angelo. The first time I met you, I instantly began crushing on this cute face of yours but I was scared of love and being rejected so I decided to act up all tough. Never knew you would fall for me, someone who comes from a poor family.

At first I thought you were kidding with me but when I saw how serious you were, I decided to give it a chance….to give us a chance” Melody said.

“You… You are serious about what you’re saying right” Angelo asked.

Melody chuckled and nodded.

“So we’re now like boyfriend and girlfriend like for real right?” He asked again

“Yes” Melody laughed.

“And you won’t break my heart right? You won’t leave me for Andrew or for any guy right?”

“Never”

“You won’t ch-”

Melody pulled him closer and shut him off with a kiss. She broke it shortly and smile.

“I won’t leave…” She said.

“You just stole my first kiss…thieve” Angelo smirked, looking at her lips.

“And I won’t stop till i steal your last name” She muttered.

Angelo smiled and closed his eyes before pressing his lips on hers. Melody smiled in the kss..

Phoebe, Mrs Parker and Boris stood by the door watching them.

“I saw this coming…” Mrs Parker whispered.

“Me too” Phoebe replied.

“All I have in mind is my Xbox” Boris said.
