OUR MARRIAGE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER : EPISODES 31 – 40
Episode 31
ANSH’S POV
It’s been a week since we both are ignoring each other. I don’t know how long I’ll continue this.
But Ahana is not just anyone; she’s a strong, independent woman.
She has never been controlled by anyone, so she doesn’t listen to anyone either. But I don’t understand why she always remains so calm.
She has been avoiding me, doing her best to keep her distance. Why she stays awake until I come home is still a mystery to me.
But I swear I miss sleeping next to her. I miss those peaceful nights we used to have together.
I wish I could spend more time getting to know her, but I can’t.
She’s sweet, and I’m afraid that my own problems might break her apart.
It’s for her own good that I’m trying to control myself.
A few minutes ago, Ma called. I was happy that we were building a good bond between us.
She informed me that Ahana and I have to attend a charity event for orphaned children.
I really like kids because they have pure innocence. People say that God resides in them.
I don’t know if it’s true, but I always enjoy being with kids.
Whenever I participate in charity events related to children, I make sure to spend some time with them. Despite not having parents, they are so happy.
I would like to have kids of my own, but maybe that’s not in the cards for me in this life. So, I try to spread love to them whenever I meet them.
That’s why I agreed with Ma to go to the event, and I don’t mind going with Ahana.
Things are complicated, but I believe that everything will be okay eventually.
Although our cabins are on the same floor, we rarely come face to face.
There is a glass partition between us, and she always keeps the blinds down.
I used to keep them up just to catch a glimpse of her once a day.
I was delighted to see Mir after so many days. He mentioned that Piya went to meet Ahana.
He had some pending work with me. But the truth is, friends make life a bit simpler and more fun.
While lost in my thoughts, sitting with my back against the chair and facing the door, I heard someone enter without knocking. It could only be…
“Ansh… I was saying…” She stopped in the middle, and I turned to look. As expected, there she was, my wife Ahana.
“Oh! I didn’t realize you were resting in the afternoon during work hours,” she said.
I wasn’t sleeping, but yes, I was definitely feeling tired. She stood with her arms folded.
But she doesn’t know that I can’t have a peaceful rest without her. But I need to learn.
However, everyone knows that bad habits are hard to break. Anyway, she didn’t seem well either. Her eyes had heavy bags beneath them.
“For your information, I wasn’t sleeping, and I am wide awake. And if you want to enter my cabin, you better learn to knock.
I don’t appreciate it when someone invades my privacy,” I said with an attitude.
“Show your attitude somewhere else. You’re not my boss, so you don’t have the right to shout at me. Get it,” she replied.
How does she know that? She always has the answers to my sarcastic remarks.
I got up from my seat and went closer to her. I don’t know what made me do that, but it just felt right. She didn’t move at all.
She’s a strong woman who doesn’t get intimidated easily because she knows she can handle anything.
“Darling, did you come here to yell at me just because you haven’t done that in the past few days?
Is there something else bothering you, apart from me?” I asked with a mischievous smile on my face.
As she approached, closing the distance between us, she suddenly stopped me by extending her hand and pushing my chest gently. Her touch felt soft against my firm chest.
For a moment, we both closed our eyes, pushing away the building emotions.
“Never call me that… I don’t enjoy fighting with you. I came here to remind you that Mom called me, and unfortunately, she called you too.
