A LIAR AT THE ALTAR: CHAPTER 11 – 20
Chapter 19
“Some of them got arrested but Dominiano and four others got away, he took me with them to a small apartment to hide till the search was over. He suspected someone from the other gang called the cops but I ratted myself out.”
“Oh, God.”
He groaned with a facepalm.
“I had to, if he found out later he’d kill me. Dominiano had anger issues and it gets very scary.”
“And you told him?”
He stared at me incredulously.
“Will you just let me finish and stop making me feel like an idi©t even though I was an idi©t?”
“Go on.”
“Thank you.”
I said dramatically.
“Well, Dominiano went crazy when I told him, he threw harsh words at me in front of the guys.
He grabbed a fistful of my hair and dragged me to the only bedroom in the apartment, he said he wanted to give me a punishment I will never forget, a punishment that will make me miserable.”
I stopped as I recalled that day.
“What did he do?”
“He…..he forced himself on me. He told me he wasn’t going to use any protection, he wanted to take my vrgnity and get me pre.gnant, that was his punishment. I cried and tried to fight him off but he was too strong, I begged him to stop and he surprisingly did.”
I blinked the tears in my eyes away.
“But he was he.ll-bent on punishing me, he dra.gged me back to the living room and asked one of the guys for his knlfe. He put the knlfe over the gas cooker and let it burn for some minutes, I tried to run away when I saw what was coming but he told the guys to hold me down,”
“He zlpped down the back of my dress and tried to draw a D with the hot knlfe, I screamed my lungs out from the pain. I made it worse when I tried to fight them, it only made the cut ugly.
I passed out from the pain, I woke up in a dark alley with a note in my hand,”
“He told me it was over between us and if I ratted him out to the cops he’d come back for me. I was too weak to find my way home but Grey came, his friend called him and told him where I was, he took me to the hospital and stayed with me.”
“But I had to go home that night, the Doctor was against it, I didn’t want my family to get worried and call the cops.”
“No one in your family knew about your wild past?”
“My sister, she once caught me smoking weed in the bathroom and she warned me to stop but she never told my parents, I told her about all my boyfriends, she never liked Dominiano.
She wanted to tell my parents about the attempted rape but I begged her not to, to my parents I was a good girl.”
“You didn’t tell her about the mark on your back?”
“I only told Vina cause she saw it and now you.”
“How did you end up dating Grey?”
“After he saved my ass I never saw him again till I got to college and we were taking the same course. We pretended not to know each other for some time but later we became friends and one day he asked me out, it was hard at first cause I thought he was going to be like the rest but he changed a lot in my life.”
“You really have a bad taste in men or should I say you attract the worse men.”
“Yeah, and you’re one of them.”
“Yeah, I am.”
He whispered softly.
“I was expecting you to cry at some point.”
Thank God he didn’t see the ones forcing to come out.
“I’m glad I met Grey.”
I whispered after some time.
“He was a je.rk anyway, he dumped you immediately I told him he was a cover, he didn’t even argue.”
“I still don’t blame him, it was all your fault.”
“Whatever makes you sleep at night, we both know it wasn’t all about me.”
I took a glance at the wall clock and yawned.
“Come here.”
He tapped a spot next to him, I moved to where he was and laid down turning my back to him.
“Goodnight.”
I said with a yawn.
“Goodnight Cassie.”
He whispered close to my ear, I could feel the warm air from his nose.
I closed my eyes and tried to sleep but he put one arm around my waist and pulled me closer to his nked chest.
“Are you sleeping here?”
He didn’t answer, I looked back and saw his eyes closed.
I turned off the bedlamp and went to sleep. I was glad I told him about my h©rrible exes, it felt like a weight was lifted off my body.
Maybe he’d tell me about Nadia soon, I wanted to know who she was.
I woke up alone on the bed, last night wasn’t so bad. I told him about my wild past and I was glad I got that off my chest.
I felt so lazy today, I just wanted to stay in bed all day doing nothing but I needed food. I forced myself out of bed and went to wash my face and my mouth.

Adrian and Karen were already gone for their vacation, I wish I could go on one too. I walked down the stairs holding the railing to support my lazy bones.
“Good morning Miss Simpson, how was your night?”
“Awesome, did you have a great night?”
“Yes, Miss Simpson.”
I smiled at him and took a seat.
The bacon was too salty but I had to force myself to eat it since Morris was standing two feet away from me.
My phone rang saving me from the third bite. I couldn’t remember saving Tristan’s name on my phone, I didn’t even know I had his contact.
“Tristan?”
I said first to be sure it was him.
“Hey Cassie, did I wake you?”
“No, I’m actually at the dining room.”
“Okay,uhm..”
“Is something wrong?”
“My mom called.”
“Is she okay?”
“Yeah, she told me she was sending her Chauffeur to pick you.”
“What for?”
“She won’t say, she only told me she wanted to spend the day with you.”
“Is that safe? I mean she might want to know about us and maybe force me to the hospital to check if the baby is okay.”
“My mom hates hospitals. I already told her you’re not comfortable talking about how our relationship started or the pregnancy.”
“Okay.”
I still wasn’t comfortable with the idea.
“Be ready before ten.”
“I will try.”
“It’s fine if you don’t wanna go.”
“I want to.”
It’d be rude not to show up.
“Okay, have fun.”
“Fun.”
I whispered to myself after ending the call.
“Sorry Morris, something came up.”
I told him after taking one last bite.
He smiled at me as I stood up to leave.
It was past eight, I searched my wardrobe for something simple to wear.
I spent an hour getting ready, I went for a sky blue flay dress that stopped above my knees, it had a white collar and three white buttons at the front.
I left my hair down and wore my charm bracelet and a golden chain that had my name on it.
Morris knocked on my door when the Chauffeur arrived, I grabbed my small white bag and left my room.
The Chauffeur was Hispanic, I made small talk with him in Spanish from the ones I remembered from high school. He laughed at me when I tried to make some sentences.

The ride was short, my stomach flipped when the car stopped. To be honest I was nervous about spending a whole day with Mrs. Sanchester, with the whole lie and knowing about her health issue.
I gave Eduardo a smile before walking up the steps to the majestic three-story white mansion. I sucked in a breath before pressing the doorbell. Large Pillars supported the top and long sofas with round designer pillows decorated the porch.
I looked around at the lawn that looked so neat one could sleep there and I almost laughed when I saw the golden Versace logo on the wide gates, who knew there were Versace gates. I stared at the peach jeep parked outside the garage as I waited for someone to open the door, my heart jumped when the door opened.
A lady in a maid dress smiled at me, her neat bun above her head fitted her oval face. I wished I could pull up a cute bun like her and not look like someone that got electrocuted.
“Hi.”
I said gripping the strap on my bag.
“You must be Miss Chloe Simpson, welcome to the Sanchesters’ Mansion. Mrs. Sanchester is expecting you in the small living room upstairs.”
“Give me your voice already.”
I said immediately she was done talking, her voice was adorable, too adorable.
“Hi, I’m Sarah.”
