A LIAR AT THE ALTAR: CHAPTER 21 – 30

My pillow felt so hard, I ran my hand up the pillow trying to figure out what happened but I heard a groan.

I opened my eyes and found my pillow to be Tristan’s chest.

“What were you dreaming about?”
His raspy voice filled my ears, he ran his hand up my arm.

“A pillow.”
I said tilting my head to the side to look at him, bad idea, now I can’t look away.

“Morning.”
He whispered with a soft smile that made me jealous of his crystal blue eyes.

He brushed my hair back with his other hand and caressed my cheek with his thumb.

I realized I had slept halfway on him the entire night, I tried to move my legs that felt numb, they were entwined with his under the sheets.

The sudden soreness between my legs stopped me, I knew how painful the first time was but man, I never expected the pleasure after the pain to leave me completely weak.

“Are you okay?”
I gave him a smile and laid back on his chest.

I mean, he was a bit rough but I liked it.

“Don’t you have work today?” I asked instead.

“I already told my secretary I will be coming late.”
His thumb drew circles on my skin.

There was a knock on the door making my heart jump, Tristan pulled the sheet up to cover my back. The door opened and Morris walked in.

“Good morning, Mr. Sanchester”
Morris greeted, I kept my eyes shut pretending to be asleep.

“Drop it right here.”
I felt something on the bed.

I opened my eyes when I heard the door close. I smelled Freshly baked bread, I turned to the other side and saw different breakfast dishes on a wooden tray.

“Hungry?”

“Hell yes!”
I ignored the soreness between my legs and sat up, I found my pa nties and wore it not caring if he was looking.

I walked to his closet and grabbed one shirt, he was smiling at me as I walked back to the room. He was resting his back on the headboard with one arm behind to support his head, the sheet stayed around his wai$t.

“I want to wake up to this every morning.”
He said as I walked to the bed, I took a seat in front of the tray feeling too hungry.

“I want to wake up to this every morning.”
I said pointing at the tray, a scowl appeared on his face.

I giggled and moved closer to his face.

“I want to wake up to this beautiful face every morning.”
I whispered giving him a peck but he wanted more, he gripped my walst.

He pulled me closer making me $traddle him, he ran his hand smoothly up my thlghs to my walst.

I pulled away when he began to run his trace my spine with his fingertips, I was too sore for another round.

“Sorry, Mr. Sanchester but I need food.”
I pulled away and returned to the treat waiting.

“I’m going to get ready for work, Cassandra.”
He walked to the bathroom completely nude while I just stared chewing the strawberry in my mouth.

“Are you coming?”
He asked looking over his shoulder at me.

“Food first.”
He chuckled disappearing into the bathroom.

He didn’t take long in the shower, he came out with a white towel tied around his waist.

“Won’t you eat something?”
I asked with a mouthful of red velvet cake.

He walked to where I was with water dripping down his hair, I took one spoon of the pudding and fed him.

“That’s okay.”
He told me when I scooped the sixth spoon.

“I have a meeting at eleven.”
He placed a peck on my cheek and pulled away.

“How is your mom?”

“She is doing okay.”
He answered from the closet.

I ate the bread and drank the orange juice, I had never felt this hungry.

Vina screamed for twenty minutes on the phone after I told her I lost my vrgnity to Tristan.

Morris kept smiling at me the whole day which made me a little uneasy.

Tristan was leaving the office late today, I stayed up watching Miss Congeniality 1 and 2. I was addicted to the movie even if it was my fifth time watching it.

There was a knock on my door, it opened before I could respond. Tristan walked in looking very tired, I got down from the bed.

“Hey.”
I wrapped my arms around him, he picked me up instead and took me to the bed.
His aftershave made me lean closer, he was already dressed for bed.

“Have you eaten?”
I asked as he snuggled closer to find a comfortable spot to rest his head on my chest.

“Yeah, have you?”
I nodded.

“Turn down the volume.”
He grumbled.

I ignored him and continued watching the movie.
His steady breathing told me he was already sleeping.

I believed my fate was sealed, I would never find the perfect guy. I was planning on enjoying this while it last, Tristan had his secrets and he planned on keeping me in the dark but I was too curious to let go.

Detective Chloe was not letting this go, I was going to find out one way or another.

“Hey.”
Tristan whispered trying to wake me but I blocked his voice.

He bit my earlobe and rubbed his stubble against my cheek.

“Cassie,”
He pecked my nose.

“Okay, I’m going to get ready for work.”
I hummed in respond.

He smacked my bum and came down from the bed, I refrained myself from attacking him.

I snuggled under the covers already missing his warmth, there was a crash from the next room.

“Tristan?”
I called sitting up, I looked around but he wasn’t in the room.

Another loud crash from his room made my heart jump, I got down from the bed as another crash came from his room.

I ran out of the room, Morris was already running up the stairs.
I opened the door and saw him smashing a painting on the floor, he looked very angry.

My jaw dropped when I saw like a dozen of the paintings hanging on his wall, they were all identical. It was a cute painting of tiny infant feet in a heart shape.
His room didn’t have any painting, how did these get here?

“Tristan?”
He was a completely different person as he broke the painting like a madman.

Morris entered the room and looked horrified.

“Oh my, who…I will get rid of them right away Sir.”
He looked confused as he ran around.

“Take it all away!”
He screamed throwing the one in his hand across the room.

I stood close to the bed not knowing what to say, why was he scared of the paintings? He was obsessed with them.

“Take them away, get them out of here!”
He covered his eyes with his hands breathing heavily, I noticed they were shaking.

I walked to him and wrapped my arms around him, he stilled at first.

“Cassie?”
He sounded like he didn’t know I was in the room.

He pulled me closer and wrapped his arms around me almost squeezing me.

I could hear his heartbeat, it was beating too fast but it didn’t take long for it to return to normal.

I sipped the bottle of water in my hand wishing the bottle won’t go empty.
It felt so awkward sitting here and not knowing anything Adrian and Tristan were talking about.

Morris walked in, looking a bit nervous. I wanted to give him a hug, he’s been busy taking care of the paintings and the mess Tristan made in his room.

“The CCTV was tampered with, there’s no recording of last night or this morning.”
He said calmly like someone would hit him if he rushed his words.

“Whoever put those paintings in my room has to be familiar with this house.”

“Or maybe the person has been stalking you.”
Adrian said resting both hands on the table.

“For Christ’s sake, it’s been six years.”
He groaned running one hand through his hair.

“Don’t tell my mom about this.”
He warned Morris before dismissing him.

I waited for them to explain to me but they just took a glance at me and carried on with their conversation.

“I think you should increase the security here.”
Adrian suggested.

“The last thing I need right now is to return to rehab.”
He mumbled sounding scared.

Adrian’s phone beeped on the table, he took a glance and smiled.

“Sorry, I have to leave. Call me if anything comes up, bye Chloe.”

“Bye”
I waved.

He stood up and left, I took a glance at Tristan, he had his head in his palms.

I stood up from my seat and walked to where he was, I placed my hand on his shoulder.
He flinched and turned to look at me.

“It’s me.”
I said with a soft smile, he’s been jumpy since this morning.

He stood up and pulled me into his arms, he was quiet and the hug lasted more than a minute.

“I promise to explain everything to you soon.”
He whispered.

I smiled and hugged him back.

It was Thursday and I was home alone. I dropped my phone on the counter and searched for a snack.

My ringtone stopped me from grabbing the bag of Cheetos, I groaned and picked the phone.

It was Adrian, Tristan was too busy to call anyway, he told me he had a board meeting today.

“Hey, Adrian.”

“Are you busy?”

“No.”
I replied taking the bag of Cheetos.

“Meet me outside the Asian restaurant, it’s just five minutes from where you are.”

“Uhm…okay.”

I ate the Cheetos as I drove to the Asian restaurant, I wiped my mouth and combed my hair with my fingers.

Adrian waved at me when I entered, the place looked very inviting. I took the seat in front of him with a smile.

“Did something happen?”

“No?”
He said and laughed.

“Just wanted to hang out.”
He said when the waiter arrived.

“So, how has it been going with Tristan?”
He asked after the waiter left with our order.

“Good, he finally told me about Nadia,” I lied, hoping to get something out of him.

“Really? It’s not something he likes talking about.”

“There’s nothing to hide, it’s nothing big anyway.”

“He would have been a good father.”

“A what?”

“A good father to his daughter, Nadia.”
He said like he expected me to know.

“Daughter?”
