¶¶Three Days Later¶¶
The prison door opened, startling Alicia who sat soberly at a close corner.
“Miss, you’re free to go home” the prison warder announced to Alicia’s amazement.
She jerked to her feet and briskly walked over to the iron door which the warder slowly opened.
” I’m Free to go home? Really? Who ordered my freedom??” She asked, looking happier than ever.
She never thought she’d be free considering how serious David took the issue and the threat to charge her in court.
“Yes. You heard me” he successfully opened the door.
“Who did this please? Who bailed me out?” She anxiously asked.
“David Romero. He’s dropping all charges against you. You’re free to go” with that, he walked out as Alicia followed behind looking perplexed.
¶¶ David? He freed her himself? He’s no longer pressing charges. Oh Go$h! What must have touched his heart? Does it mean he has forgiven me?
A lot of unanswered questions ran through her mind. She feels extremely guilty for what she did. She certainly doesn’t deserve his forgiveness.
She sadly packed her things and walked out of the station.
The cool breeze that greeted her the moment she stepped out reminded her how much she has missed these past days.
Her hair plastered over her face to the rhythm of the wind as she felt a bit relaxed and even more guilty.
She has to go see David. If not for anything, to beg for his forgiveness. Cause she knows he’s still mad at her.
Neglecting how rough and dirty she was looking, she boarded a taxi which drove her straight to David’s house.
¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶
The door bell rang out continously.
“Coming” Rosiana who just finished taking her bath, came out with a loosed shirt and small shorts to get it.
She opened the door and a small gasp left her mouth. In fear, she shut the door back but not fast enough for Alicia Who held it with her hand to prevent her from shutting it completely.
“Hey please Ana. Please I’m sorry just listen to what I have to say” she pleaded.
“Ana please…”
Rosiana who felt a bit soft towards her pleas slowly opened the door standing face to face to Alicia.
“I know I don’t deserve to come in, neither do I deserve to be here standing face to face with you after what I did.
I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness either, but please Rosiana, please I beg you. Forgive me. I didn’t know what …
“What came over you right? What are you even doing here?” David completed her statement with a hoarse voice.. coming towards where they stood.
“David…” Alicia drawled, her heart summer saulted. Even the tone of his voice showed how much he despises her.
“You heard my question. What are you doing here?” This time, he was standing behind Rosiana.
“Don’t tell me you’re here to finish up what you started. Cause you won’t succeed this time”
Tears trickled down Alicia’s eyes as she listened to those hurtful words from David.
“David it’s not what you think please. I’m really sorry for what I did. That’s why I’m here. I’m truly sorry” she cried more.
“Sorry? Did you just say sorry? You know what Alicia, just get out..
“David please..” Rosiana tried to cut in.. but David hushed her with a glare.
“Don’t please me Ana. Tell this murderer to leave this premises or I’ll call the cops for her again”
“David. It has gotten to that plea–
“It’s okay Ana, I’ll leave. I only came to thank him for dropping charges. Thank you” she sniffled.
“Trust me Alicia, if it was me, I would have made you rot your whole life in jail.
You better thank your stars someone pleased on your behalf. Now can you leave?”
Alicia gasped in tears at David’s hurting words. She nodded instead.
She would never have thought a time will come when David, the guy she’s always loved will hate her this much.
“Oh. Ok” she managed to say. Taking steps backwards.
“Whosoever the person is. Say me a thank you” with that, she wiped her teary face and walked out.
David pulled Ana a little from the door and shut it hard. Loud enough for Alicia to hear it’s bang.
She burst into uncontrollable tears cause right now, she just earned his Hatred.
¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶
“You were so harsh” Rosiana rolled out.
“Damn harshness.you could have died.” David stated a clear fact.. trying to show Ana reasons why she must avoid Alicia.
“But I didn’t okay. She saved me”
David ran his fingers through his hair.
“It still doesn’t change the fact that she tried to drown you by pushing you into a pool when she knew you can’t swim.
Begging me to drop charges against her is enough Ana. I wouldn’t want you any way close to her.
Don’t fall for her stupid crock tears. She’s a devil.
If she really cared about you, why did she push you in. Even when Janie begged her to help you out, she paid no attention. What did she do instead?
She neglected her and waited till you stopped breathing before she could do anything.
She’s dmn lucky the doctor said you have no complications.
She’s lucky your health record is perfectly normal. She’s very lucky!”
Nobody needed to tell Ana how angry David was. She could easily tell from his voice and the look on his face.
And also with the way he treated Alicia few moment ago.
“I’m sorry. I’ll stay away from her. I promise” she walked over where he was sitted and close to him. Her hand on his face.. pulling it to her face.
“It’s a promise okay.” She assured. Placing a light kiss on his lips.
David smiled a little. He still wasn’t okay.
He is not so sure about Alicia. His mind is not at rest a bit even after seeing her in a sober state
He just can’t Trust her anymore especially when it comes to the safety of His loved ones. His family.
“Cheer up okay. So, when will the kids come back from Mark’s place?”
The kids except Junior who’s in his room sleeping at the moment. They went for a vacation at Mark’s place.
“Few days from today. It’s a week’s vacation for them” David retorted.
“I’m beginning to miss them yunno” she chuckled lightly.
“Me too” David nodded. He dearly miss them too. Even their mischief and disturbance ?
