CHAPTER 47
It has stopped raining by now, so they went straight to her car, and he began driving her home.
She tried to calm herself down throughout the drive, so nothing was said till they arrived at her place, and they stepped out at once.
“You should drink some milk, it’d do the remaining calming” he said, handing him the car key.
“Drive the car home, you can bring it back on Monday” she said.
“Monday?”
“I don’t want another secretary, please” she replied.
“I quit already” he said.
“But you can still come back, I know I’ve never treated you well, but I’m asking for another chance, there’ll be no mistake this time, I promise”
“I’ll think about it” Maxwell said after a minute, and she smiled.
“But I still can’t take your car home, I’ll ride the bus…it’s not 10 yet so I’ll catch up” he said.
“But…
“I won’t change my mind” he said, and she sighed.
“Will you call me when you get home?”
“Ok” he replied.
“Goodnight” she waved.
“Same here” he replied as he left the mansion.

MILLAS’ APARTMENT
Luckily, Maxwell met the bus, and he arrived at home after twelve minutes, meeting everyone in the living room including Warren.
“Don’t tell me you’re sleeping here again tonight” he said.
“His new movie is airing tonight, I suggested we watched it together” Cypress replied.
“You were casted? You didn’t tell me fool!” Maxwell sat beside him.
“It’s not worth watching, please let’s just sleep” Warren muttered.
“Why? It’s your first appearance you should be happy” Cypress hit his head.
“By the way, what did your ex-boss do today? Sharing an emotional moment with her daughter? How’s that a special thing?
Wasn’t every woman supposed to love their kids? I can never like her” granny Suzy said, coming out to sit beside Maxwell.
“Maybe she has a chaotic past, who knows?” Maxwell replied.
“Did you just defend her?” Warren faced him.
“Where are you coming from by the way?” Cypress asked suspiciously.
He looked at granny Suzy and saw her glaring too.
“I… went for some air” he lied.
“The movie is starting!” Cypress suddenly noticed, and they all turned to the TV.
“Fk, no please” Warren muttered as they began watching.
He didn’t appear in any scene till the end of the movie when he appeared as a driver who drank the coffee meant for his boss and died on the spot.
“What! You appeared in just one scene and died in that same scene?” Maxwell gasped.
“You have no lines too” Cypress laughed hard till she was rolling on the ground.
“Did you offend the writer?” Granny Suzy laughed.
“Fk, my friend are you sure acting is for you?” Maxwell giggled.
“Not you too!” Warren made to grab him, but he quickly stood and entered his room, locking the door.
He sighed as he walked to his working table and sat, thinking about Jemima’s offer.
“Do I?” He muttered, and his phone rang, waking him from his thoughts.
Seeing it’s Jemima, he swiped the green.
“You promised to call” she said.
“Sorry, I got home not long ago” he replied.
“Oh…
“Yeah, so go to bed” he said.
“Sure, bye”
He hung up and sighed.
“She’s arachnophobic too?” He mumbled.
