MAYA’S POV

“My defendant pleads innocence”, I said looking at Celine.

I can’t believe she was this pale just for two days. I wonder if she survives a week here.

The judges were shocked as well as the audience. I walked to the defendants table and sat beside Celine whose eyes has refused to leave my body.

“And who are you? “, the chief judge asked.

“Pardon my incapability to be punctual your lordship. Am Maya Minho, a sister to the defendant, the victim and her lawyer “, I breathed.

All my life I wanted to be a defendant of justice. To defend the poor masses to a fault. I couldn’t believe here I was actually handling my first trail in such Way.

The judge whispered to the clerk as he came for my certificate which I had all thanks to Randy.

He paid handsomely before I could be swore in as a lawyer.

After much verification, my files was returned to me.

“Speak”, the judge said at last.

“My lordship I deny every charges against my defendant with two proves”, I stated.

Celine was shaking profusely as I held her hand and gave her a comforting look.

“One I the victim is still alive and will like to drop the case by the penal code 322, which gives me right to drop this case”

“Miss Maya, I admire your courage and kind heart to stand up for your sister but you can’t bend the law to your favour. You can’t drop this case coz you weren’t the one who brought it before our table.

She was caught in the hand. Am sorry but you can’t win this”, the chief judge said.

Celine was now crying. Never are my going to lose my first case.

“My lordship am not talking as her sister but as her lawyer. Am a legal Prati……. “,

“You can’t stop justice miss Maya. If you have no solid evidence to prove her innocence then I will sentence her”.

It was the time I dreaded most. Time to use my last ticket. I got a solid prove to defend my sister.

Do they think I didn’t come well prepared?

“I have an evidence “, I said as my eyes met with my whole family including Dante.

I had to win this for CELINE’S and their sake.

“This is Korea and the constitution allows a full grown citizen to have a gvn for self defense “,

“Objection my lord, this is a waste of time my lordship. There not to prove her. The constitution said for self defense and she used it for attempted murder… “,the prosecutor stated.

The court went silent as the judge starred me eye ball to eye ball.

“What do you have to say about this Counsel? “, the judge asked me.

“Evidence!!! ” I raised my voice as the court room door opened to reveal a doctor with some securities wheeling a table covered in white.

Everybody’s attention was on it as I walked to it and pulled of the sheet to reveal a de.ad man.

“How’s this a evidence? “, the prosecutor asked

“My lordship this man here was in the hospital but was there to kll me. But nature had it that my sister saw him by the window side putting a gvn at me and fired him”,

I could see shock all over CELINE’S face. He klled the person he sent to kll me unknowingly.

We found him half d.ead and asked who sent him, he told us it was Celine that was how I came to know she sent him.

“How true is this? “,

That’s the judge.

“Here is a medical personnel to match the bullet and here are security men who saw him”, I stated victoriously as my eyes met the prosecutor.

She was beyond mad and it was written all over her face. This is the first case she lost since her thirteen years of practicing.

The doctor and the security men swore the oath of justice before stating their various partake.

The judge was silent as well as the whole court after the security men and the doctor defended my evidence, waiting for the judge to declare.

“A very hard case ever to be seen since my 60 years of practicing but am sorry to say this Miss Minho “, he stopped.

My heart was beating very fast right now. Did I lose?

“You are rare. A good sister and a defendant. You are wonderful and I hereby declare today Miss Celine Minho free from the attempted mvrder”

Tap tap, the judge hit his hammer as Celine sprang up and hugged me really tight.

My family rushed at me as everywhere became broke with jubilation.

“Forgive me Maya”, she cried into my ears.

“You’re my sister and I hold no grudges “, I cried too.

“Won’t you hug your senior brothers “, Larry said as Celine went to hug him and Lee.

It was a family reunion. She hugged mom and now it was remaining Dante and Randy.

I could feel her confusion as stood there starting at the both.

Dante winked at me and hugged her first. She was shocked.

Randy hugged her and then came to stand by my side leaving Dante and Celine at the other side.

“I know I have been an a$s all this while but right now I mean everything. Celine Minho would you marry me? “, Dante asked as he knelt with his hand holding a ring.

Celine stood there crying. She didn’t believe this I know. Who would either.

“Say it fast. My legs are hurting already “, Lee said.

“Yes!!! “, Celine yelled down the court room.

“Can we start going now. I can’t wait to go inside again”, Randy whispered.

“Naughty boy”, I said as he kssed me.
