Chapter 24
Fred smiled at his secretary. She has worked hard to get the information he had requested yesterday. He read some of the information again and knew that the only thing he needed now was tangible proof that Mr Smith committed those crimes.
“Miss May, thanks for this, working hours are over, it’s getting late now. You can go home” Fred indicated.
“Alright, I will go first” May bowed slightly and left.
“This is an act of wickedness! Why are people so heartless? Someone that trusted him the most and gave him everything, now look what they get in return! Justice must prevail!!” He packed all the documents inside a big envelope, put it inside his briefcase and got ready to go home.
He checked everything and put all that needed to be arranged in order before he carried his briefcase and grabbed his car keys and found his way out.
He can’t wait to be home, kss his wife, carry his kids and be the man he loves to be, the big daddy and perfect husband outside work, that’s the best man for him.
He smiled at the thought as he locked his office and whistled downstairs. His hand was on the knob when a bvllet hit the door right beside his hand. He ducked back upstairs in surprise.
How did someone invade his office without the security guards knowledge? After this, he will sack him for sure! Maybe the danger alarm has malfunctioned.
He listened as footsteps came towards him, he hid in a darker place and waited for the intruder.
He saw the shadow of a hand gripping a p!stol, maybe the id!ot thought he has already run back into his office.
He quietly placed his briefcase on the floor, removed his jacket and waited for him to fall into his hands, he can’t risk goin to get him, there might be another person hiding somewhere ready to shoot him if he tries to fight the other guy.
The person came out fully, he is short, he guessed that the face behind the mask is round and rumpled.
When the guy came upstairs and went towards his office, he obviously didn’t see him in the dark behind him, he jumped at him and blindfolded him with the jacket.
He twisted the gun off his hand and kicked him down, he was about to remove his mask when another gvnshot came closer to him, he dodged the bvllet and it h!t his office door.
The guy he managed to bring down stood up immediately and charged towards him, his guess was right, he shot at them but they are already gone.
He sat down and panted as if he just run a marathon. Of course he did, he was close to being shot and that is the worst sport in the whole world.
Knowing they are gone for good, he grabbed his briefcase and ran downstairs to see the three security guards tied to the gate.
“I thought as much,” he muttered. He untied them immediately, got into his car and drove away before they even had the chance to say thank you.

He got home immediately, his heart was racing, his wife and kids… many what ifs ran through his mind as he climbed up the stairs and heard no noise.
“Honey?!” He called. “Babe, where are you?!” He kept calling when silence greeted him.
“Hey, sweetie! I didn’t hear you drive in” his wife’s voice broke in from downstairs.
He released a deep breath and rushed down to hug her, she was surprised at how hard his heart pounded.
“Are you okay?” She asked worriedly.
“Where are the kids?” He grasped, looking past her.
“They are with our nextdoor neighbors, he brought his children home, so I took them there to welcome them,” Angelina explained curtly.
“You have to go bring them in now!”
“Honey, what is wrong with you? Look at you, you are sweating, what happened?” She wondered.
“Don’t stand there and ask me questions, Angel, go bring them here” he hushed and went upstairs. He knew she has gotten her worried now, but he will explain later.

“You guys are amazing!” Miss Lola praised these two as the best partners she has ever come across.
“Wow, I would love to go on another round again!” Pearl giggled.
“What? You had better start going home before Mr Smith looks for you. I don’t ever want to see that man’s face angry at me again!” Cynthia said.
“Yeah, I don’t usually withstand his scary eyes, I wonder if anyone will ever want to live under the same roof with him as a wife or child” Miss Lola choked.
“His son was living with him before the accident, so I heard his mother took him from the hospital. I think he doesn’t go hard on him like he does us, after all, he is his only son” Pearl drawled.
“Well, he might be someone soft inside,” Cynthia said.
“Never! That man? He’s not, I think he was only cool to his son because he wanted to impress his wife or so, and so that boy won’t go away” Pearl blurted out.
“Well, you two can go outside and argue about that man, I just want to sleep right now and dream about my fantasies!” Miss Lola jumped in.
“Oh, I should start going” Pearl stood up from the bed and went to dress up. When she was done, she kssed Miss Lola goodbye and Cynthia saw her off.

Sophia switched off the photocopying machine and was arranging the copies of the booklet in order when Justin came to her.
She looked up and saw him, she smiled ever sweetly and wished he wasn’t so goddamn hot and she has already started nurturing undeniable feelings for him.
“Hi, how do you feel today?” She asked and stood up.
“Who exactly are you? You could have done well in the acting school, why did you come here?” He asked so seriously.
Sophia was caught off guard by his query and the look in his eyes. Fury. Well, she can’t blame him, maybe that is how people who survived from plane crashes behave.
“Well, I don’t…understand, I will just pretend I didn’t hear that. Excuse me” she squatted down and continued what she was doing.
“Pretence, yeah, that is the word! You are very good at concealing your real self, you don’t understand what I am saying, right? Okay, take a look at this!” He threw the phone at her.
She looked at him and remembered that he is sick, the sickness must have gotten upstairs and it is quietly losing some nuts there, very soon, he might completely go crazy.
She had to tolerate for Mrs Smith’s sake and for the fact that she still has a long way to go in this organization so she can be able to take revenge.
She picked up the phone and was thrilled to bone marrow. Her eyes widened, her mouth fell loose and she shivered. How did he get to see the sx video?
“What? Do you understand now? Oh, you finally lost your voice, huh? Talk to me you slvt!” He barked, Sophia rose immediately and gave him the shock of his life.
A sI.ap across the face and he saw stars, “don’t you dare insult me you animal! Yes, this is me, so what? Are you a saint? You are the one that did this to me and you have the guts to call me a slvt!” She yelled at him.
“What…what did you just do? What are you saying?” He asked more calmly. He went close to hold her and she pushed him away.
“Sophia, talk to me, what are you saying? You knew me before, right? Please, stop keeping me in the dark!” He gasped.
Sophia cried a river, she didn’t understand him at all. He was angry and now he is so mellow just for her to tell him the truth? What would he do with it? It is already too late to reverse these things.
She watched him struggle to remember, he held his head, gritted his teeth, growled, fell and fainted, but she couldn’t move, she didn’t have the strength to call for help.
She simply knelt down beside him and cried her heart out. She knew no one will hear them unless she called for help, but she was too weak to make a noise.
After sobbing for the whole of six hours, she pushed him and called his name to see if he would wake up.
He did, his eyes slowly opened and he asked again, “what did you say that I did to you? Sophia, please, tell me, help me remember if we have had a past together”
“I might be a little selfish now, because I am afraid that if you remember, you will hate me like you used to, you will make jest of me and bet with your friends to have you trick me to your bed again and I will hate myself the more” she smiled painfully, she doesn’t even know herself anymore.
“What nonsense are you saying? Me? Hated you? Just tell me about it, did I really hurt you in the past? Sophia, come on” he squeezed her hands.
“Forget about what I said, Justin. Let’s get out of this place, it is not good for your health, it is too cold in here” she said and stood up.
“Sophia, I don’t know what happened between us in the past, I don’t remember and you have refused to tell me about it, but I want you to know that what I feel for you is genuine love. I don’t care about your past, you are right, no one is perfect. Let’s forget about it and start a new us.
I know your friend told me all these out of jealousy, so I was furious, but I only wanted to hear the truth from you. It still hasn’t changed my feelings for you, it hasn’t changed who you are in my eyes and in my heart. I really love you, please, give me…us…a chance” he pleaded.
“What about me? What if I don’t like you at all? What is even so great about me to love? If you want me, it’s fine, I will give you sx, and stop saying what you don’t mean” Sophia blurted.
“I know you love me, but you are hiding it because of whatever must have happened between us before. I joke with a lot of things, but I’m sure about loving you from my heart” he said and stood up to stand in front of her.
She laughed indignantly, “how would you know if I love you or not? Am not a child Mister, I know what I want, nobody knows that more than me”
“Can you look into my eyes and deny that you don’t love me? When I kssed you, you were afraid you had fallen for me because you responded so quickly to my kss and you shivered in my arms. Doesn’t that count?” He declared.
“You are so unbelievable!” She breathed, took the booklets and left.
He smiled knowingly and followed her. No matter what has happened between them in the past that is scaring her so much and making her run away from him, he is determined to make amends and show her what love looks like.

Skyler caught Alex staring at Sophia’s pictures, Alex was quick to deny it as he hid the photo under his pillow.
“I said it! You like her, don’t you?” Skyler shook his head in disbelief.
“You are mad! I just found this picture and I was going to take it to her” Alex denied.
“How did you even get to print out her picture? Keep denying it, you like her. Just walk up to her and tell her you like her, it could be too late to do that later” Skyler advised.
“I just told you not to think like that. Why did you come to my room in the first place, you didn’t even knock!”
Skyler bursted into a mocking laughter, this guy has completely gone nuts! “Hello, this is our room. We are roommates, that is your bed and this is mine. Dear lover boy, go tighten your senses because you are probably losing it!”
“I admit, I like her, she is very beautiful, and I just want her for myself. But I can only look at her pictures and imagine things we could be doing together ’cause I know she will never like someone like me. I mean, look at it, I can’t beat Justin in good looks and wealth” he confided sincerely.
“That is true, dude, but you still have a chance with her, I mean she is the one that will choose who to be with. Remember she crushed on you first and I think Gena scared her away” Skyler empathized.
“Yes, that is very true. She liked the places I took her to and she obviously likes me, but then everyone kept talking about me and Gena, I guess that made her back off. And that Stella, she contributed to it and I just like the way Justin chose Sophia over her, she will soon die of jealousy. I hate that girl!”
“Look, bro. Follow your heart, make your feelings known to her, but before that, end it with Gena already, I don’t see anything good in that relationship of yours, what did you even see in her?” Skyler rolled his eyes, despising even thinking about that girl.
“You see, Gena was my best friend in school, then the attraction came, she has really helped me a lot, both financially and…”
“Sxually! Yes, like it or not, you have only used her to appease you god” Skyler concluded.
“I wasn’t going to say that, bad guy. You are always a player, get something real for yourself, bro!” He laughed.
“Forget about her, I wish you luck with Sophia. Let me give you a tip, ask her out on a date, buy her gifts and flowers on an amazing night. Then tell her what you feel and wait for a yes, because I know girls love material things, especially beautiful ones!” Skyler whined.
