Chapter 10

ANDRA’S POV”
“Party tonight?” I asked Nicky when she came back to the counter after serving a customer.

“Sure…. Wanna come” she asked.
“Come on Nicky, you and I know that I’m not the party type” I argued.

“Come on girl, you need to loosen up and have fun” she shook me a little and then looked down at my skirt. “Seriously girl, that skirt is too tight” she whistled.

I can’t blame the innocent skirt. I was busy thinking about the wolf from last night that I didn’t know when I slipped it on, I don’t know why I kept thinking of it but I really feel like I know that wolf, especially when I thought that it was a man squatting there, I felt like I’ve known him for ages, as if he’s in my heart – weird right?.

“I didn’t know I slipped it on” I finally replied Nicky.

“Reeaallyy, or you wore it to seduce someone. Did he tell you he’s coming today” she asked and bit her lips se.ductively.

Though I know who she’s talking about but I wanted to be a jerk so I asked.
“Who are you talking about?”

“Oh please, you know exactly who I’m talking about” she brushed me off.
“Crazy girl” I nudged her, she stuck out her tongue for me and I giggled.

“She picked her phone and logged online while I went to deliver a message to the cook from M.D. when I got back to the counter, Flora and Diva were already there, I wonder where they went to before though.

And as usual, they were gossiping in low tone, when they saw me, they started glaring at me, I just don’t have their time, but little did they know that Nicky always do.

“Bch, homeless idi©t, Bryan doesn’t want you anymore, so why don’t you take you dirty self out of his apartment” flora fired at me.

“Pro$titute, homeless slvt, sheep without shepherd, I’m pretty sure the wife of whomever you are living with as your boyfriend is back which is why you are now homeless.

And I’m sure you casted a spell on Bryan so that you can be able to be toying him around like your pet, I’m not surprised though. But you see that particular thing you are looking for… Hahaha….. You will never get it, and for that dirty dilapidated apartment, you can have it, cause she will soon be a mansion owner in few months” Nicky blasted.

Flora lost her tongue, it was Diva who managed to say “in her dreams”.

My phone beeped and I checked the message, it was from Alex *re U busy. I was wondering if we can hang out this evening. If u re nt 2 busy, pls beep me after work*

I smiled, is he asking me out on a date or is it just a harmless invitation. One way to find out, if he refuses to let Nicky tag along then it’s a date but if he accepts then reverse is the case.

I texted him back asking if Nicky should join us, he replied *no problem*. That means it’s not a date, I was kind of disappointed.

“Guess what Nicky” I asked her.
“Osama Bin Ladin ressurected” she blurted out.

“What!!?” I asked in confusion.

“Sorry, this two goats really annoyed me this afternoon, what’s up?” She asked.

I whispered it into her ears, but I regretted it as she screamed it out “Alex asked you out on a date”

“You are coming with me, so technically it’s not a date” I whispered to her.

“Technically duh, this two should know that you are the queen here” she whispered back.

“Crazy girl, so are you in”
“Are you kidding? Of course I’m in” she replied.

I texted Alex back *we are in*, he replied I’ll come pick you guys around 7pm*

I switch off my phone and worked happily that day, ignoring Flora and Diva’s glare.

Around 5:30pm, we closed for the day, while the night staff took over. Nicky and I went straight to my apartment to prepare for the night – the apartment that will no longer be mine after tomorrow because I’ll be moving in with Nicky.

“Girl you look amazing in that gown” Nicky commented my dressing.

I was wearing a red bodyhug gown that stopped above my knee, it’s simple but stylish, I coupled it with a pair of strapless heels, two silver bangles on my wrist and it’s earrings, I styled my natural hair upward, and put on a light makeup, Nicky wasn’t bluffing, I do look amazing.

But Nicky, her dressing was…. OMG, story for another day.

“You look stunning too Nicky but you do know that we aren’t going to a night club right?” I asked her.

“Which is why I wore this dress” she stated.

“So in other words, you are telling me that you attend night clubs naked?”

“B1tch you got your mouth, so I won’t stop you from saying whatever you want” she said and pressed my cheek a little. “So shall we go?” She asked.

“Alex isn’t here yet” I said to her.

“So you mean that you’ve not been hearing the blaring of a car horn that is threatening to deafen me.

“Nicky you are such a…. Arrrrr….. So you knew he was here already and you kept quiet.” I barked at her.

“Don’t kill me girl, I needed to fix my make up very we’ll, you never can tell who I will meet when we get to where we are going” she shrugged.

“Arrr, just get out of my way” I walked passed her.

She giggled before drawing me back.
“Hey, don’t step out walking like a furious Lamborghini from fast and furious movie. Take a deep breath… And walk in slow mo if possible, so that the charm can work very well”

“What charm” I asked her.
She palmed her face before replying “this girl is so dumb, I mean your beauty charm”

“It is you and your entire generation who are dumb, let’s go” I said and stormed out.

“Oh my God, at least slow down” she complained as she ran behind me.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw Alex’s hand about to knock on the door, thank God he saw me if not those hard knuckles would have landed on my forehead.

“Oh hey there” he greeted. “Wow, you both look amazing” he commented.

I blushed as if he was referring to only me. We both walked out and I locked the door, I know I had to introduce Nicky to him.

“Well Alex, this is my bes friend Nicole but Nicky for short” I introduced.

“Hi Nicky, nice to meet you” Alex greeted.

“Pleasure is mine” Nicky replied.

Alex stretched out his hand for Nicky to shake him, but instead she stared at his hand. I became confused and so did Alex.

“Umh, I don’t bite” Alex assured her.

“Don’t you?” Nicky asked absent mindedly, Alex twisted his brows in confusion. “Uh, I mean, wow, you are just too cute, I’m afraid I might kss you if I touch your hand, so I better not to avoid someone committing murder” she laughed out, I know she was referring to me, crazy girl, her mood changed back to the Nicky I know and we all laughed.

“Shall we go” Alex asked.
“Of course” I replied.

“I wonder where Mr. Handsome is taking us” Nicky asked.
“Don’t you like surprises?” Alex asked back.

“I love surprises” she replied.

Alex opened the front door and before I could blink, Nicky was already at the back seat, I guess the front seat is mine, am I dumb or what, of course the front seat should be mine, I blushed and entered, he close the door, he entered the driver’s seat beside me and brought the engine to life. I stared at him, he turned to me and flashed a charming smile, my heart missed a step and wanted to fall into my stomach but I managed to hold it.

Nicky was right, he’s just so handsome. He was wearing a blue designer jean trouser, a milk colored T-shirt which had ‘I devour’ scribbled on it.

This is the third time I’m seeing that, I wonder why he loves printing that on his shirts. His diamond earrings glittered on his ears and made his face so shiny, he wore a chain neckless which made him look like a rock star. And his eyes – wait, is that maroon color – the street light was actually helping me to see him clearly – but seriously is that maroon, wow, it’s so beautiful, I never knew humans do have such eye color… His eyes made me remember that beautiful wolf. I now have two friends that has maroon colored eyes. Cute.

He suddenly smiled and faced the road.

“Wow, girlfriend, check it out” Nicky said from the back seat.

“What is it?” I asked her.

“A guy was devoured by a wolf yesternight” she stated.

I could have sworn that Alex stiffened a little but then I guess he just shifted a little in order to be more comfortable behind the wheels.

But he didn’t say anything about what Nicky said. I mean that was such a bad, terrible, crazy news. Doesn’t he care about guys loved ones.

“That’s terrible” I commented.

“I thought that was a rumor, so it really did happen, poor guy, I wonder how his family will take it” Alex said in pity. So he does care, such a soft guy.

“Hey Andra, do you think it’s that your wolf who killed the guy?” Nicky asked.

“What? You have a wolf?” Alex asked me.
“No, why would I? It’s just one wolf that showed up in my house last night” I replied.

“A wolf, showed up in your house, and you are still alive?” He asked in shock.

“Crazy right? And it scared Bryan to death” I stated.
“When I saw him, he was running like someone who saw Hitler’s ghost” Nicky added.

Alex bursted into laughter, Nicky and I joined him.

“Really” Alex asked.
“That one was bigger than his ancestors” Nicky replied.

Alex laughed again, I kinda like his laugh.
“And guess what Andra said about the wolf” Nicky said to him.

“What did she say?” Alex asked in curiosity.
“She said that the wolf was a beauty and that she’s in love with it”

“What!, Andra it’s a wolf we are talking about here” Alex snapped at me with a light smile.

“Don’t blame me, that beast was beautiful, so white and furry, I felt like touching it” I whined.

“You’ve gone crazy” he laughed out.
“You needed to have seen it, I’m sure you would feel the same way”

“I really need to see it” he said.
“And I wish never to see it again” Nicky blurted out. We all laughed.

Alex hit the car break gently and the car slowed down.

“We are here” he informed us as he cruised the car into the most expensive and most beautiful restaurant in Enugu.

Nicky and I have always dreamed of eating in that restaurant but we keep telling ourselves that it’s just a dream that can never come true, but Alex just made our dream a reality.

I once heard that only celebrities, politicians and millionaire’s children has what it takes to eat there, tonight I feel like one of them.

“Wow, Andra its sun restaurant, our dream just got real” Nicky cooed.

“Its so huge” I commented.
“And beautiful, I’ve never seen anything like it” Nicky added.

“Let’s go inside” Alex chuckled out.
When we got in, a guy in a tuxedo who was holding a folded towel in his hand approached us, he looks like a butler – I guess he’s a waiter.

“Reservation sir?” He asked, Alex handed him a piece of paper, he smiled and said “this way please.

He took us upstairs to a private bar – no one else was there. I can’t believe Alex paid for a private bar in this restaurant, this guy is really swimming in money.

We sat down and picked the menu while the waiter stood there waiting for our order.

“I’m so ordering all the dishes in this menu, sorry Alex but you brought me to my dream restaurant, you don’t expect me to order for a can of water, dust my butt and walk out. Dude you gonna empty one of your accounts today” Nicky blurted out.

Alex and I laughed including the waiter.
“I won’t complain dear, order for anything you want, just make sure we don’t end up doing dishes for them” Alex replied, we laughed again.

I became pressed, why now, stup1d body system, I turned to the waiter and asked “I’m sorry, please where’s the rest room?”
“Just walk straight to that passage, the 2nd door by the left is the ladies” he replied.

I thanked him and ordered for jealof rice, chicken and pork before leaving for the rest room, I’m sure I heard Nicky ordering half of the menu. Crazy girl.

When I came back from the rest room, I saw Nicky and Alex staring at each other as if they were communicating telepathically, but whatever it is, their eyes weren’t looking friendly at all. I cleared my throat to call them back to reality.

“Is there any problem?” I asks them, they both shook their heads negatively.

The waiter brought out food, we began to eat but I do see them exchanging glances at intervals. I swear I felt a sting of jealousy.

ALEX’S POV.
I could feel her jealousy, but what can I do, I just couldn’t stop staring at the blue eyed girl. I know something is not right about her.

When Andra left for the rest room I decided to ask her the real reason behind her not shaking me because I know that she lied the first time I asked.

“So why didn’t you shake me before” I asked her.

“I already told you” she replied.
“What you told me was a lie”

“What made you think so, you don’t read minds or do you?” She asked that ‘do you’ as if she knows that I can.

“Of course I don’t” I replied.
“Don’t you?” She asked again.

Her deep sea blue eyes Darkened , there was a spark of fire in her iris – like a silver lining – which was sparkling and threatening fire.

I don’t understand, how did her eye color change, I thought she had brown eyes, something is not right.

I looked deeper into her eyes to know if I can get something but suddenly she drew back as if to run away from me, and gently her eyes began to change back to normal brown.

I couldn’t believe it, can she be one of Caspian’s crew in disguise, but why isn’t she fighting me. Also if she was one of them, I would have read her mind easily.
