Though that made a little sense but I know Nicky. She can’t lie just to stop Bryan from showing his face around me, and she will go extra miles to save me from anything which she did. Maybe Bryan and those two witches conspired to destroy my friendship with Nicky but I won’t let that happen.
“Bryan leave” I fired at him.
I could see the anger in his eyes, he was furious, gush he gets angry so easily.
“Who is he?” He asked.
“Bryan are even listening to yourself, your bubbles just got bursted today, your cheating escapades just got leaked and instead of facing the fact that you are a wicked cheat, you are trying to conceal it by pushing the bulk to me” I snarled at him.
“Will you cut the crap and tell me who you’ve been fooling around with or you leave this house.
This guy has completely lost his mind but I’m not surprised though, anyone or anything that associates with Flora will definitely stop functioning well.
“I’m sure flora talked you into this, excuse me” I stated and walked out of the house, but he followed me demanding that I tell him the name of whoever he thinks I’m ‘fooling’ around with, but who did flora tell him about, could it be Alex. That bch must be crazy, even the more I think about it, the angrier I get.
I was so sunk in my thought that I didn’t realize that I was Walking along the abandoned, lonely and dangerous street, only chain smokers and drug addicts got the mind to walk down that path.
The most annoying thing is that Bryan was still behind me ranting,I walked two more steps before I felt his strong hand grip my shoulder, he turned me around to face him, I stared fearfully into his angry eyes, I know what was coming next, he won’t think twice about strangling me there.

I became scared to death, but then I felt the presence of someone else, weirdly I felt his anger, he was practically burning with rage and for some reason, I felt he was on my side, the only thing I prayed and wished for was for him to come out and save me.
Even though I didn’t know if he’s one of these smokers but whatever as long as he’s on my side, I didn’t care.
“Will you tell me now, is he a drug addict, is he the one you’ve come here to see? I’m ashamed of you Andra, you chose a lunatic over me” he barked at me.
“At least he’s not as wicked and as shameless as you are, he doesn’t sleep with my colleagues and still have the guts to look me in the eye and insult me.
“Have you been bringing him to my apartment, the apartment I paid for with my hard earned money” he fired.
“Of course, where else will I take him to, I take care of you and another person enjoys you, isn’t it fun that you spend on me and another person enjoys me huh? Let’s just call it win win Bryan” I chuckled out.
The anger in his eyes could shock someone to death But I didn’t care, I cared before not anymore, he has crossed the boundary.
“How dare you” he snapped at me.

He raised his hands up to slap me, I closed my eyes and waited patiently for my cheek to start threatening fire but instead I felt nothing. I began to wonder if I died before receiving the slap.
But I Have to confirm first. I opened my eyes, only to see Bryan squeezing his face in pain due to the way a tall athletic looking man was twisting his hand.
At first I thought that what I felt about someone else’s presence was just an imagination but it’s real. I looked closely at him and with the help of the alway merciful moon I realized it was…
“Alex?” I breathed out but it sounded more like a question. but how is it possible, how is he here, how did he get here, though I’m so happy to see him again.
But what is he doing here, could he be doing drugs, but he doesn’t look like One, no he’s not, at least I won’t believe he is until I hear from him.
Seeing how bad he was hurting Bryan, I pleaded. “Please let him go”
“But he was gonna hurt you” Alex complained.
“Not anymore, you are here now, he won’t hurt me” I replied.
The happy smile that escaped his lips gladened my heart – I didnt know why but I smiled back.
He released Bryan’s hand, he scampered away like a rat being chased by a cat.
I turned to Alex, I didn’t know whether to thank him or ask him what he was doing there. For some reason I was angry and I’d be more furious if he is into drugs, I glared at him but he was still smiling at me. If only he knew how angry I would be if I realize he’s into drugs, he wouldn’t be smiling.
As if he heard what I said, he frowned, sometimes I wonder if I’m that transparent, sometimes Nicky always know what I want to say before I even say it, and now Alex, I need to stop being predictable.
“Are you into drugs?” I asked him.
He flashed his charming smile at me again.
“Way to thank someone who saved you Andra” he complained.
I suddenly felt guilty, I bent my head and apologized shyly. “I’m sorry, I was just curious, by the way thanks for saving me.
He was still staring hard at me with an amused smile, I guess he loves staring.
“You are so funny” he stated and brushed his hair with his hand. Cute.
“I’m sorry but what brought you to this neighborhood” I asked him.
“Still curious?” He asked back.
“Kind of”
“You are angry that I might be into drugs?” I looked up at him in shock, how did he know that.
“Maybe”
We were already walking out of that area, his presence is so soothing that I wished he would never go home, even though I’m still a little scared of him – I still don’t know why – but for some reason I want him to stay.
“So he paid for your apartment?” He asked me.
“I’m guessing you listened to the conversation”
“You mean the argument” he giggled out.
“Suit yourself” I replied, he laughed, what’s funny.
“So are you going back there?” He asked.
“Not like I have any other place to go”
Sht why did I say that, he will start thinking that I’m hopeless and I’m trying to put myself in his hands.
“I mean, I can still get another place of my own but it can’t be tonight” I defended myself.
“I understand, but you are gonna sleep there tonight” I really love his american accent.
“Yes, I’ll just ask my friend to come and stay with me”
None of us talked for a while as we were walking, but it still bothers me so I decided to ask “seriously Alex, what were you doing there?”
“Just passing through, I really love lonely pathways. Weird right?” He asked.
“Kind of” I shrugged. I mean who love lonely dangerous paths. It’s really weird.
“Hey look, popcorn, want some?” He offered and I nodded childishly.
We bought the popcorn and kept walking, we were almost getting to my apartment when Alex asked “can I at least have your number?”
“Did you bribe me with popcorn this boy?” I asked him.
“Is it working” he asked back.
I stared at his smiling face. He’s to cute and too nice to be rejected. And he is kinda too eager to know me.
Maybe Nicky was right, he might be my future, I’m not one of those girls who give up on men just because the first one failed. I’ll continue to give them chances until the right one shows up. But first I need to know this dude.
“Give me your phone” I asked him, he did, I typed my number and gave it back to him. He thanked me as if I did him a favor.
“That’s my apartment over there” I pointed out.
“Do you want Me to stick around in case that brute shows up again” he offered, I laughed.
“He’s not a brute but thanks, I’ll be fine, I’ll call my friend”
“OK, I’ll call you later”
“And stop going through lonely pathways, its dangerous” I instructed.
“I’m also dangerous” he winked at me.
“I can’t say otherwise” I replied.
I bid him goodbye and he left.
As I was about to open my door, I heard my name. I turned and saw Nicky running up to me.
“You will live long you know, I was about to call you” I said to her.
“Scratch that, was that Mr. Handsome?” She asked with a wide smile.
“He’s name is Alex”
“Mmmh, Alex-Andra, I knew you two were meant to be” he whined.
“Stop it”
“I thought you said you declined when he asked for your number, how come he knows your apartment” she asked.
I told her what happened and how he saved me from Bryan.
“I think your heart called out to him” she breathed out dreamily.
She giggled while I glared at her. I opened the door, we entered. She sat on the couch and stretched herself.
“I thought you’d be in a club by now” I said to her.
“Today is Wednesday, I go to club on Fridays”
“So what are you doing here?”
“You said you needed me, I guess your heart called out to me like it called out to Alex” she stated.
“Nicky?”
“Fine, it’s my mum, she’s been disturbing me since I got home” she complained.
Hearing about mum, I suddenly missed my mother, I wish I’m the one my mum was disturbing. I guess Nicky noticed my sudden quietness, how does she always notice.
“I’m sorry Andi, I didn’t mean to open up a closed would” she apologized sadly, her eyes sparked a little lightening and I can’t be angry with those eyes.
“It’s OK, it’s fine”
She smiled and without warning, she snatched my popcorn. Lol, that’s my Nicky, always trying to cheer me up.
“So where’s the ice cream?” She asked as she munched on my popcorn.
“Which ice cream?”
“Girl dont tell me that you are eating dried popcorn without ice cream”
“Nicky you love sugar so much. The popcorn is already filled with sugar and cream and you still want ice cream. My dear there’s water in the fridge in case you need liquid” I said to her and she groaned and stood up.
“You are so boring” she complained as she headed for the fridge.
