” Good morning sunshine .” Hayden piped out cheerfully the minute I entered the kitchen .
” Ooh…Good morning Hayden . ” I replied quickly , surprised by his enthusiasm .
” You look pretty good this morning . How was your night ?” He eyed me as he ate up his oatmeal.
” Well , i slept like a baby with nothing to worry about . ” I stared at him suspiciously ” Why are you acting all nice towards me ?”
” What ?” He laughed ” I’m like the nicest person in this house . I wasn’t never rude to you ”
” You know , if is there something you want from me , you might as well just tell me before I explode . ” I uttured ” I can’t afford to play games right now . I’m sick ”
” Not for too long because the doctor called. ” Hayden held up his palm ” He wants to discuss something with you regarding your health . ”
I just stood by the fridge surprised by all of this . ” Don’t tell me you bribed him to tell you lies about my health . ”
” Hell No ! I was as surprised as you are right now . He said it was an emergency . Surely i would like to join you . ” He gave me a pleading look ” please , im curious to know .”
” Actually I would like Ethan to accompany because he is the supportive one in this house ” I shrugged ” Where is he anyway ? I’m very sure that he is an early bird . ”
” Him ? Oohh…Anna …” He sang out ” Lisa baby …. Ethan left the house an hour ago . Look , I even took a day off just for you. ” He added ” I know have been a j.erk lately but you can trust me . ”
” Is there something you aren’t telling me . ? Did Ethan say something to you about my health ?” I stared straight into his eyes ” Talk Hayden …What did he tell you ?” I leaned in on the counter to take a good look at him .
First of all I don’t trust Hayden with anything , even with my life for God’s sake . If Ethan said something to him , I swear to God I’m going to kill someone.
” Ethan …” He breathed out ” He didn’t tell me sht except that you are sick . Aren’t you sick Lisa ?” He glanced over me .
” You are lying , I can see your right eye is twitching Hayden . You are fucking with me !” I pointed at his right eye as it kept twitching. ” Why is your eye twitching huh ?” I questioned wanting him to badly confess.
” Come on Lisa …Am i not allowed to twitch my eye. That’s simply insane. ‘” he whispered ” im trying to help you out here but it seems like my help is not needed. ”
” You Never gave me a reason to trust you Hayden. You were always shitty towards me . Then what makes you think I would trust you now ?” I sat on the chair beside the counter and waited for him to explain himself. .
” Lisa , I have been rude towards you because ….” He trailed off looking away , his looked flushed at the same time embarrassed.
” I didn’t hear you Hayden . What did you say ?” I smirked feeling a little better that finally Hayden is opening up to me.
Hayden shot me a look ” because I love you okay ? I have been rude towards you so i can avoid you . You make me feel things I have never felt in a very long time ….” he said easily. I think it wasn’t easy for him to say that because he kept avoiding my eyes.
I couldn’t believe what i was hearing . I touched my hot red cheeks ” So you don’t like me , you actually love me? .” I choked out , my stomach was already filled with Unknown butterflies .
” Yes Lisa . I’m actually a stupid guy i thought maybe if I pushed you away from me all the feelings I have for you will finally go away but they didn’t ” he rose from his chair ” So I beg you Annalisa , I want to be by your side today . I know I’m the last person you would need to associate with but ….” I cutted him off before he could finish .
” Take a shower and get ready for the appointment . ” I said loudly and I walked out of the room quickly before I could embarrass myself even more .
Secondly , Hayden was the only guy I have ever loved in my life . I liked him from the day I saw him but the thought of him liking me back was the last thing on my mind . Last time I checked , he was all over Isabella with no intentions of giving me a chance . Now this ….
I quickly closed the door of the bedroom me and Isabella shares . I breathed in and out with the weight of my body on the door .
” And what’s up with you ?” Isabella stared at me as she sat up from the bed ” You nearly gave me a heart attack . ”
” Oh my gosh …you won’t believe what Happened Isa …..like right now … downstairs ..” I slowly sat down on the floor touching my heart . ” Hayden just confessed that he loves me . Can you believe that shit ?” I asked quickly . My heart was pounding like hell . I never thought this day will ever come .
” He did what ? ” Isabella jumped down the bed ” I knew it. ..!!…I knew that he loves you. He was just scared to tell you because of your ignorant behavior. ”
” You knew ?” I stared at her , thrilled that Hayden did love me and Isabella knew. Here I was thinking that Hayden didn’t feel the same way about me .
” Yes , he has been leaving all hints for you to read Annalisa . ” She sat on the bed ” The fact that Hayden used me to get back at you because of what happened between you and Ethan. …”
” I thought maybe he liked you .” I murmured ” What if he is lying Isabella ? What if he is into me because I’m from a wealthy family . ” I stared at my lap .
” Hell no …Look Annalisa , Hayden loves you . If he really wanted to use you . He could have done that a long time ago….” Isabella sat beside me. I didn’t even see her walking over here. She was suddenly hugging me. ” I trust Hayden and i believe that he won’t use you for his own selfish reasons. ” She whispered . For a moment there I thought finally there is someone who understands how I feel.
My mother never got a chance to pamper me because my father was all over her . Trying his best to make sure that i looked perfect as well as my mother . He controlled everything. I think shed a tear because Isabella wiped my face with her bare soft hands. .
” Don’t cry . I’m here now . ” She reassured me and I knew that from now on , I will always have someone like her beside me . I have a sister.
” Annalisa ….We are running late . What’s taking you so long ?” Hayden knocked on the door softly ” Are you okay in there ?”
” She is fine Hayden . ” Isabella replied ” Give her 10 minutes. ” Then I heard Hayden walking away . ” Where are you two going this early morning ?”
“He requested to accompany me to the doctor’s office . ” I slightly touched my stomach. ” Thank you Isabella. ” I said sincerely and she kissed my cheek .
” Get up . Hayden is waiting for you downstairs ” she stood up and helped me stand up . I thanked her before i went into the bathroom to take a short hot shower ..
By the time I was done . Isabella was already downstairs with Hayden. I found them standing at the porch .
” Finally …” Hayden breathed out and when he turned around his mouth dropped open ” You look beautiful. ” He sighed as if he was holding his breath.
I just smiled innocently. Hayden is going too far with the compliments . I was only wearing my yellow short sleeveless dress with my yellow and white sandals. I even polished my nails yellow.
” Dmn girl …” Isabella said ” Are you sure you two won’t stay up late ?” She smirked.
“Don’t even say another Word ” Hayden elbowed Isabella playfully before he held out his hand ” Come on beautiful. ” He beamed as I took his hand .
Isabella stood at the porch with a cup of coffee in her hand . She looked pretty happy for us as Hayden drove away with me . Then reality hit me so hard that Hayden doesn’t know that I have cancer. I almost broke down but I held my composure .
I wasn’t sure if I should tell him or wait until arrive at the hospital . I occasionally stole glances over him . I think he finally felt that i was nervous .
” Annalisa , what’s up ? You are sweating all over my sit ” he pointed out as he parked the car .
” Nothing …just that prepare to be surprised. ” I mumbled the minute we got out of the car. Hayden didn’t say anything as he led me into the doctor’s office .
” Good morning Miss Richmond ” the doctor stood up and greeted me ” And Mr Smith ?” The doctor gave me a questioning look as he shook Hayden’s hand .
Hayden and I sat down . The doctor kept paging through his files ” you want Mr Smith to be present ?” He asked me and I nodded . Hayden squeezed my hand
” Well , im happily to tell you that you are cancer free Annalisa. ” He continued quickly ” We misplaced your results with someone else’s. We are so sorry for that . ”
” You did what ?” Hayden answered sharply .” You wasted our time and energy doctor . I’m so gonna sue this hospital . ”
I just sat on my chair shocked by Hayden’s behavior. The doctor surprised me alright but Hayden shocked me to the worse . ” that’s not necessary Hayden . The doctor have done a decent mistake. ” I squeezed his hand but he yacked it off my hold .
” This doctor is messed up especially this hospital . How dare they lie about something so huge ? I haven’t slept at all since Ethan told me. ….” He trailed off and I stared at him . So Ethan did tell him everything about my health. Why was I so stupid to think that Ethan was a trustworthy person .
” Ethan told you everything ?” I choked out hurt that Ethan betrayed me like this.
” Let me give you two some space ” the doctor stood up but Hayden pushed him down . The poor doctor just sat down staring at me . Yeah , I brought a crazy person here
” You aren’t going anywhere. ” He yelled . ” Sit down . ” he pointed out furiously without answering any of my questions .
” Don’t talk to him like that !” I said defensively ” I’m out of here. ” I stood up trying my best not to cry . Hayden tried stopping me ” Move Hayden ,!” I pushed him aside without staring at him . His eyes never left my body until I closed the door and ran out of the hospital .
I left him in there. I don’t care what he does in there because I’m done . I can’t believe he lied to me especially Ethan . I trusted Ethan but he told Hayden everything . I couldn’t hold back the tears anymore . I broke down the Minute I got in the taxi cab .
” Are you alright Miss?” The cab driver gave me a look in the review mirror .
” I’m fine . Just keep driving . ” I instructed and he did . The drive to home was long that when I got there i was already drained .
I don’t know if I should rejoice because I don’t have cancer or cry because Hayden kept something so huge from me . He should have to me that Ethan said something to him because I was so dead nervous that I thought he was going to hate me for lying to him .
I paid the cab driver and walked over the house. The first thing that struck me dead was the bags that were on the porch . I stared at them while I walked over them . They were mine . The door of the house was wide opened .
” She is here Ethan ! ” I heard a familiar voice . I stopped dead at my tracks . ” Don’t even come in here !” Ethan’s Mother walked out of the house. ” Where is she huh ? What did you do to her ?” She questioned coldly .
I was confused ” What are you talking about Miranda ?”i asked but she shot me a dead look .
” Ethan….She ain’t saying anything. I think she murdered Isabella just like she murdered Tiffany ” Ethan’s Mother half yelled in the house . ” The police are coming for you girlie !” She rolled her eyes at me before she closed the door .
I took deep breathes . What is going on here ? As I was trying to process everything. Ethan opened the door . He looked rather angry . ” Where is she Annalisa ?” He spat out. ” What did you do with Isabella ?Talk….!” He grabbed my arm so hard that i thought he was gonna break it . The tears on my cheeks kept falling but Ethan looked dead serious .
” I don’t know what you are talking about Ethan !” I choked out the words in pain . ” You are hurting me ”
