CHAPTER 62

FEW MINUTES LATER***

Melanie sat up and removed the earpiece from her ear, she threw it to the bed carelessly with her phone and groaned loudly.

“Is he alright? He was bleeding,” she mumbled worriedly.

Was she wrong to have judged him that way?

Her mind went to the time when he helped her in her drunken state, the time he prepared a hangover soup for her even when she poured it away.

The time when he helped her when she was on her flow, the moment in the classroom.

She found her legs moving to the door till she got to the kitchen.

“I should get him something first,” she muttered to herself.

She stretched her hand and tried to take a small sized pot since she wasn’t cooking much, it was at that moment she realized she was very short.

“Gosh” she stretched her body again, the bum short she was putting on raised a little higher, showing a little flesh of her a*s.

She suddenly felt a shadow over her, a hand brushing hers slightly as he helped in taking the pot for her.

She turned swiftly and her head collided with his hard chest.

Axel dropped the pot on the counter and went to the fridge.

Melanie bit her lips as she stared at him.

“Are you okay?” She found herself asking.

“I thought you don’t care anymore” Axel muttered.

“I…” She stammered.

“I don’t have to explain myself to you, we’re strangers, now remember?” Axel threw the bottle of water away and went out of the kitchen.

Melanie blinked her eyes rapidly and faced the counter. It was very obvious that he’s mad at her. Would he even eat the meal she’s about to prepare for him?

She was still brooding when she felt a familiar cologne hit her nose, her back crashing on the hard chest she’s grown to be accustomed with.

“Don’t ever do that again,” Axel whispered, his hot breath fanning her neck

“If you avoid me again, then I’ll never forgive you,” he muttered.

He placed a kiss on her bare shoulder and Melanie shivered slightly when she felt a cold thing hit her skin.

She turned to look at him and she got mesmerized just by staring at his blue eyes.

“I’m sorry,” she mumbled slowly.

“I didn’t know you were forced to get engaged to her. I thought…”

“That’s because you judged me so easily.” He muttered.

Her eyes went to his bruised lips.

“Is that how he hits you? I really don’t think of him that way” she muttered.

“You trust people so easily, Mel. And it’s very bad, you can be taken advantage of that way,” he said.

“I’ve been taken advantage of before,” Melanie muttered.

“It’s not my fault, I’m just too soft,” she added.

She raised her hand and touched his lips gently.

“Does it hurt?” She asked softly.

Axel smiled while staring at her eyes which held worry in them.

“Do you want me to do something for you?” She asked again.

“Kiss me,” he blurted out.

“What?”

His hand traveled to her singlet and caressed her bare back, holding her in place as he trapped his lips with hers.

Melanie’s eyes widened but it didn’t last for a minute when she closed it, responding to his gentle ksses.
