CHAPTER 64

After a while, Axel broke the hug, not moving away from her. His hand was on her waist this time around.

“What were you trying to do?” He asked, glancing at the pot on the counter.

“Huh?” Melanie blinked her eyes.

Axel chuckled and pulled her cheek gently. She frowned and he laughed before moving away from her.

“Were you trying to cook something?” He asked.

“Huh, yes” Melanie replied, facing the counter.

“For you,” she quickly added.

“Me?” He asked his brow raised slightly.

“Yea…I just felt like, because I was guilty,” she chuckled.

Axel smiled as he watched her.

“Do you know you look so cute right now?” He suddenly asked.

“Huh?” She looked at him.

“Nothing. Now that we’re at it, I’m actually hungry. Can you make me something?” He asked.

“Sure… What do you want?” She asked.

“Anything. As long as it’s from you, then I’m contented” he said.

Melanie smiled and started cooking. She was still on it when Axel hugged her from the back, resting his hand on her stomach, a little inches below her breast.

“What are you doing?” She quickly asked.

“Watching you,” he simply said. He kssed her shoulder before resting his head on it.

“Lemme stay like this for a while, Mel” he whispered, closing his eyes.

Melanie swallowed hard, her hand tightening around the knife since it was trembling.

“Five minutes” she muttered.

Axel smiled and hugged her tighter.

THE BRAUN MANSION***

“How did it go?” Mrs. Braun rushed to her husband immediately he set his foot into the house.

“Good or bad?” She asked slowly when she noticed how tensed his shoulder was.

“I disowned him,” Mr. Braun said.

“What?” Mrs. Braun staggered back in shock.

“That bstard is not my son! How dare he go against me! How fking dare he!” Mr. Braun thundered.

“Do you know what he said?”

“He said he doesn’t give a damn if I disown him, he even called Ariel a wench!!”

“Honey, calm down, okay?” Mrs. Braun held his arm.

“We’ll sort it out, you don’t have to be mad” she said gently.

“I have to! He’s getting married to Ariel and that’s final! I guess I’ve been too lenient on him and he seems to have taken that for granted, I won’t allow that anymore”

“Of course it’s Ariel and no one else. I’ll talk to him, don’t worry,” Mrs. Braun said.

“No, don’t. Don’t say a single thing to him, and don’t you dare send any money to him. Let’s see how he’s going to survive on his own,” Mr. Braun smirked.

“Greg, aren’t you taking this far? He’s still our son!”

“A son that doesn’t listen to what his father says? Is that a son?”

“Don’t send any money to him and that’s final. He’ll come back here with his own two legs, that way, I’m gonna cut of his wings” Mr. Braun smiled.

Mrs. Braun sighed.
