KAMMA’S REGRET
EPISODE 7

KAMMA stood up from the bed she has been lying on for months. The strange illness is begining to dry up little by little.
Kamma became so worried about her mother in-law. It’s been two weeks she left. Kamma complained to Nurse ella about her mother in-law.
-nurse ella, I’m very worried. My mother in-law is not back yet. I just hope she is okay.
-mma please. You are still recovering. The list thing you need right now is stressing your mind. When she is done with the business, she will be back.
-business?
-yea, she went for a business trip. That was what she told me.
-(loooking suprised ) was that what she told you? Hmmm, maybe she just said to cover up.
-cover up? How?
-hmmm, nurse ella, i owe that woman alot. For my sake o, she followed her friend to see a native doctor.
-what? Nurse ella screamed. Jesus!!!. She never mentioned this to me. I would have stopped her. The solution,which is Jesus, is right here with us. Why native doctor? Oh no!!
Nurse ella tried calling mama, her numbers were switched off.
-hmmm, ella continued her numbers are switched off.
-what? Kamma shouted. Switched off? How come? Oh God, please protect my mother in-law for me.
-kamma, let us pray for her. We pray in Jesus name. Dear Lord we thank you for this beautiful day and for another opportunity to be with you today. Thanks so much for.your healing power upon mma. Be praised oh God, this day and forever more.
Oh Lord, madam has been on a journey for two weeks now. We do not know her whereabouts and her phones are off. Oh Lord we plead for mercy. You wish is that all will come to repentance. Lord Jesus, defender of the defenceless, i call upon you, in your mercy fight for her, deliver her from the claws of the wicked. From the den of the lions. For you will have mercy on whom you will have mercy and compassion on whom you will have compassion. Have mercy Lord, in Jesus name. AMEN.

Mama has being crying in that dark room. She started feeling something creeping up from her leg into her thigh. Her hands were tied. She couldn’t touch it to feel what it was but the movement could tell what it is.
-snake? Oh my God!!! Snake. Ugogbe oooooooo. Snake ooooo. Snake is creeping into my body oooooo. (The snake got to her undies and started tearing it out with its teeth. Mama does not go to church and doesn’t believe in Jesus but she shouted) JESUS!!
(IMMEDIATELY the snake left her with speed. Mama was.shocked) it worked? It worked!!!! So this name Jesus is powerful?
AKPUDA walked in.
-how dare you mention that name here? How dare you?. (He lifted her up and threw her outside and gave her the beating of her life) you want to ruin my life the second time? (He so beat her till she fainted) i will torture you mercilessly. Idiot.
——————–mama’s residence—————–
Ugo came visiting. He hasn’t seen his mum for long and her numbers were not connecting. Ugo came in and met kamma walking around the house. Her sores were drying up already. Kamma saw him and passed hurriedly into her room and asked nurse ella to attend to him.
-welcome sir.
-thanks. Wow, what drugs did you use on her? Her recovery was so fast. What hospital could not do?
-well, sir, Jesus is the medication I’m using for her. He is the great healer.
-hmmm. Where’s my mum? Been trying to reach her. Her numbers are off.
-hmmm, she told me she was going for a business trip but mma said she went with her friend to see a native doctor because of mma’s conditions.
-what? Native what? I thought mum is done with this fetishness. Please nurse, do you know the friend?

-hmmm, this is not good atall. Let me see kamma. (He moved upstairs to kamma’s room)
-sir please. My patient is still recovering. I will advice you’ll be discreet with her. Please.
-ok. Thanks.
Ugo went upstairs to Kamma’s room.
-hi he started, how are you?
– mum went to see a native doctor with friend aunty evelyn, chief boro’s wife. Please, i need you to go and find out if she is back.
-ok. But that is not the answer to me question. I didn’t just come to see mama. I came to see you too. Really I’m sorry about how i abandoned you. Im so ashamed of my self. Please forgive me.
-hmmm, can i ask you ugo. If you met me in a worser situaton than this, would you have said these things to me? Just go. I owe mum alot. She stood by me through thick and thin. When you talk about true love, mum’s got it. Just go please.

-ugo, leave. Now. Just leave (crying)
Nurse ella rushed in.
-sir please, come with me.
-she just do not want to listen to me.
-please sir, just come with me.
——————–in the sitting room—————-
Nurse ella, started
-sir, I’m really sorry about that. She is only acting human. If you were in her shoes, you will do same, if not worse.
With due respect sir, you did not really do well. This was a moment in her life she needed you more. Don’t worry sir. The will of God must be done. So, about madam, any news?
-(deep breath ) yeah. She told kamma the person she was going with. Her friend aunty evelyn. I’m going there right away.
-ok. May the Lord go before you.
-hahaha, church girl. He left.

-good evening ma. He greeted.
-awwwww, Ugo my son, how are you? Is your mum back ? I have been calling her but she is not picking.
–what? I don’t understand. You mean you did not go with.her again?
—nooo, i got a call that my consignment was coming in that day o. So i gave her address to go. I begged her to wait till I’m done offloading, you know your mum na. Stubborn fellow. So she is not back?
-no ma. Please where is this place? I need to go and look for her. Besides, mma is now.getting better .
– wow, really? Emmm, who knows you came to see me?
-kamma. Why?
– oh nothing. Prepare, first thing tomorrow morning, i will take you there.
-ok aunty. Thanks so much.
Ugo went home from there.
That night, Nurse ella told kamma to give her ugo’s phone number. She had a revelation. There is danger.
Ugo picked his call.
-hello sir, I’m fine sir. Yes she is fine. Sir please, i had a revelation about you. Can you be here first thing tomorrow morning?
-awwww, no. I’m going with aunty evelyn tomorrow morning to the place where my mum went. She said she didn’t go with her again. She just.gave her direction.
-sir, please can i come with you?
-why? What for? Who stays with kamma?
-sir, she can come with us. What was revealed to me is disastrous. I need to go there with you.
