LA city hospital… 8:13pm…
“Mrs Ben, you should eat something” I said.
I dropped the plastic bag I was holding on the table, I sat next to her on the couch and started bringing out the food.
Mrs Ben didn’t even bother to face me, or maybe she didn’t even hear me speak.
All her attention is on Claudia, she held Claudia’s hand in hers tightly.. yet softly.
Anyone can see and feel her great love for Claudia, her eyes are red and puffy from all…
It’s Claudia, who can’t see her and feel her mother’s love.
“Mrs Ben” I called her again, tapping her shoulder gently.
She slowly turned her head towards me, oh my God, her eyes are even puffier than I imagined.
“Miss Statham, you’re still here?” She asked in a cracked voice.
I nod. “Yes, ma’am, and you can please call me Rhoda” I told her.
I can’t let someone who watched me grow and carried me while I was still a baby, call me miss Statham.. it doesn’t seemed right.
“Rhoda…” She paused and checked her wrist watch. “.. it’s late, why aren’t you gone home already?”
Oh, she doesn’t know I’m a doctor I guess.. I ignored that question and pulled the food towards her.
“I bought you some food, you haven’t had anything since morning.. so, I figured you’d be hungry”
She turned her gaze to the food, stared at it for a moment, then her eyes watered.. she carried the food and placed it on her laps.
“If only she’s as gentle and filial as you towards me, if only she had being obedient and listened to me… ”
Another fresh tears are running down her cheeks now, I reached for my handkerchief and wiped the tears.
“…if only she had listened to me, she wouldn’t have fall victim.. she wouldn’t have been caught up in Benjamin’s sins!”
Ok.. like seriously, I don’t know if buying her food was a good idea or bad idea.
I wanted to make her happy, but I ended up making her more sad.
“My babygirl is struggling for her life, when is she going to wake up?”
Anyway, I should comfort her. I reached forward and rubbed her shoulder in a comforting manner.
“Mrs Ben, it’s fine. The doctor said Claudia is alright now, she just needs a long rest and she’ll wake up tomorrow”
She stared at me doubtfully, but I didn’t stop talking.
“If Claudia wakes up now and see you aren’t eating, or caring about your health.. she’d be sad, please eat something and she will be very happy to see your face tomorrow”
Mrs Ben stopped crying and thinks about it, she nod and smiled weakly.
“You’re right, I can’t neglect my health.. she’ll say I look hideous” she breath out.
“Exactly my point”
She wiped her tears.
“Well, then I should eat now” she said.
I nod, she grabbed the spoon and started eating.. after a few minutes, she turned to me.
“Shouldn’t you go home and rest?”
“Yeah, I’ll go after you finish your food”
She shook her head quickly in denial.
“No, please, don’t wait until I finish my food. I know I have been crying, but I know you’ve been accompanying me”
“Are you sure I can leave you alone?”
“Yes, dear, I’m fine now”
I sighed and got up, well, I think I’ve done my part.. I should go home and check on my son.. after I was already off duty 2hours ago.
“Alright, Mrs Ben, I’ll get going”
“Good night, dear”
“Good night, ma” I replied and stepped out.
I went back to my office, I packed my stuff and stepped out.
Immediately I shut the door, I saw Raymond’s assistant passing by.. I quickly stopped her.
“Excuse me, please”
“Miss Statham” she acknowledged me.
I nod in response. “Where’s doctor Hemsworth? Has he resumed yet?”
Raymond is on night duty recently..
“Doctor Hemsworth won’t be coming today, ma’am” she replied.
“Why? What happened?” I asked again.
“He called in sick, he won’t be coming today…”
I turned away from her before she could finish her words, I hurried towards the exit.
He’s sick? Why didn’t he call me? Who’s looking after him at home? What if something happens to him?
Various questions runs through my head, I reached for my phone and dialed his number.. his phone started ringing but he didn’t pick up.
I stepped out of the hospital building and walked towards my car, I grabbed the door handle and pulled it open.
Before I slide in, I think about it, I’m in a hurry to see Raymond and my mind isn’t in a right state to drive… I might hurriedly run into a truck.
It’s better I go in a cab, I closes the door and head for the road.. thankfully, I saw a cab coming.
The cab stopped in front of me, I search my phone and saw Raymond’s address.. he saved it on my phone just yesterday.
“Please, sir, take me to this address!” I showed the driver the address.
He nod and I quickly got in.
“Please, if you can hurry up a little bit”
“No problem” he replied and zoomed off.

Matilda’s pov ?
“I’m tired of playing cards!” I groaned.
In anger I slammed the card on the table, Marcus laughed at my frustration.
We’ve been playing cards since we finished eating, and seriously, I’m tired of it.
“Ok, so, what do you want us to do?” He asked as he gather up the cards.
I puffed out some air and throw my head back on the chair, i drag the neck of my shirt.. though the Air conditioner is on, but I’m still feeling hot inside.
“Are you ok, darling?” Marcus asked.
“Stop talking!” I snapped at him. “Your voice is making me even hotter!”
He laughed lightly again.
“Ok.. I’ll stop talking” he said.
Why am I feeling so hot tonight?
? Hakuna ma tata.. means no worries ?
Marcus started singing, I growled lowly at him and he stopped immediately.
He looked up at me from the floor he’s sitting, he dropped the card on the table.
“Talk to me, baby, what’s wrong?” He asked.
“I don’t know, I’m just feeling hot and…,” I trail.
I can’t let him know I feel like jumping him right now, it’d be so embarrassing.
“Would you like to take a cold shower?” He asked.
I shake my head, I don’t need any shower right now.
“Ok… so, what do you wanna do to chase away this heat?”
“I don’t know!” I grumbled.
He sighed, he got up and sat next to me on the sofa.. he threw his arm around my shoulders.
“If you don’t tell me what’s wrong, how am I gonna help you?” He asked.
I stayed silent, then I think about it, he’s the only one who can help me right now.. I removed his arm from my shoulders.
He stared at me with a frown but doesn’t say any word, he’s waiting for what I wanna do.
I pushed him back on the sofa, his frown deepens.
“Alright.. you gotta tell me what you’re doing” he said.
“I’m getting rid of the heat” I replied.
“I don’t get it”
I rolled my eyes, is he dumb or what?
“Are you a vrgin?” I asked him.
“Huh?”
“I asked if you’re a vrgin?” I repeated my question.
He chuckled.
“Ok, don’t take this the wrong way, baby.. but I’m not Nicky, I’m not allergic to women so…”
“Just answer the question!” I growled impatiently…
He gulped slowly. “Nope, I’m not and…”
I crashed my lips on his and cut him off, he seemed surprised at my sudden kss and he didn’t reciprocate it.
I stopped. “Since we’re both not vrgns, what’s stopping us from sxing?”
“Ah..uh.. baby, the guys normally initiate this”
My hands grabbed his shirt and started unbuttoning his shirt….

“Did you learn your lesson?” He asked.
“What lesson?” I asked him back, pretending like I don’t know what he’s talking about.
“Are you still gonna think about running away from me?”
I rolled my eyeballs.
“Will you stop taking everything I say seriously?”
“Of course not! I take every word you say very seriously.. so mind what you say!” He said.
“Hmm” I hummed in reply.
“Now… Let’s talk about how you lost your vrgnity”
Without saying anything, I got up and ran towards my room.. Marcus got up too and chased after me.
“Where are coming with your nked body?!” I yelled.
“Well, I can ask you the same thing too.. you’re also nked!” He replied.
“This is my house, I can walk around nked!”
He chuckled.
“Well, let’s have a naked party!” He exclaimed.
I facepalm myself. God! Tonight is gonna be a long night, why did I even bring him to my house?
