Episode 10
It’s been two weeks and I was terribly busy. After the merger, the workload increased ten times.
Dad and grandpa had taken a back seat. Ansh was good at his work, and I wasn’t any less. The company was doing well.
It was Saturday, and both the families had decided to come together to view our pictures from Switzerland. We didn’t have any, but still, they insisted.
I didn’t deny because I had to give them the gifts too. Even Ansh’s friends Mir and Piya came. I called Tiara and Kay, but they were busy.
We all were sitting in the living room. There were laughs and talks everywhere when I entered. I gave Ma a tight hug.
I didn’t have time to meet her after coming back. Dad and grandpa too gave me hugs. It felt good to see them.
Mir and Piya were like family friends. They all knew each other very well. I too liked them, and they liked me too. Piya was sweet like always.
“Ansh, so what presents have you brought for us from Zurich?” Dad asked him.
Ansh stood speechless. Of course, he didn’t know that I had purchased gifts for all.
“Uncle, I think they were so busy in each other’s embrace that they have forgotten we exist.”
Mir said mockingly.
“Wait… You…” Ansh called him.
“Hey… Guys… Look there. Ahana is bringing something.” Piya said.
“I have souvenirs for all. I distributed them all. I had them gift-wrapped with each one’s name written on it to avoid chaos. I gifted Ma Swiss Chocolates.
Ma was very happy. She loves chocolates. But she can’t eat much of it due to her health.
“Thanks Ahana. Ansh is such a forgetful person. He never remembers anything to buy for us.
Last month, a month before your wedding, he went to London for almost 3 weeks and he didn’t bring a single thing. Not even chocolates. I’m glad you did.
I thought we wouldn’t have anything this time either,” Piya said.
“I am happy for you, son,” Ansh’s dad said.
He still stood there like a statue, busy with his drink, showing little interest in what was going on.
We haven’t had a proper conversation in the last two weeks. I wonder what’s happening to him.
Unpredictable…
Later, we all had dinner together. The dishes were amazing.
The Raichand’s had a talented group of chefs who prepared various cuisines flawlessly.
Afterward, we sat together in the garden enjoying ice cream. It was around 11 o’clock.
Since it was Saturday, no one was in a hurry. Both dads and grandpas were lost in their own world.
Mom and I were chatting, while Ansh was with Piya and Mir. They got along very well.
Just then, I heard someone approaching from behind.
“East or West…”
I turned around, and everyone else did too.
“We are the best…”
I continued walking towards him, with a wide smile on my face.
I knew everyone was watching us, but I didn’t care.
“Ahana’s my Queen.”
“And J’s my Hero…” I finished.
And then, I embraced him tightly with all my strength.

I was overjoyed to see him. He lifted me up and spun me around.
We were laughing. I didn’t realize that everyone had surrounded us, their eyes fixed on us, but it didn’t matter at all.
“Hey, put me down…”
He gently put me down, and I looked around.

Everyone was smiling except for a pair of eyes glaring at me with annoyance. Ansh. I didn’t care because I was experiencing true delight for the first time.
