OUR MARRIAGE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER : EPISODES 41 – 50
Episode 44
I don’t know how she knew I was in my cabin and she showed up. I wish you had heard the entire conversation.
I made her leave. Trust me… I didn’t do anything wrong. Please…” She looked into my eyes, and they met mine.
Hazel Brown versus Dark Brown orbs…
“I can’t, Ansh… I don’t even know why I am upset with you. We signed an agreement, so I shouldn’t care, but still…” I quickly put my finger on her lips. I knew I made her do that, but I had to so that I could prevent her from harm.
“Hmmm… I know, please… I know you don’t trust me, and I haven’t given you any reason to, but please believe me…” That was all I could manage.
We didn’t know what kind of relationship we were in. She just nodded. She looked tired. Although she was home, I know she was working all day and night.
I don’t know what prompted me, but all of a sudden, I wrapped her in my arms, giving her a tight hug. Surprisingly, she didn’t resist and returned it.
I could feel my shirt getting wet due to her tears, and trust me, it felt bad. I didn’t realize how much time had passed.
I saw Ahana… Her eyes were closed, and it looked like she had fallen asleep. Her hands were still around me. I didn’t think twice and lifted Ahana up. She remained still.
I quickly tucked her into bed, and then I went for a nice cold shower. That was needed after such a mentally challenging day. It does wonders.
When I returned, I saw Ahana was sleeping like a baby, curled up and cozy in the bed.
Without wasting any time, I joined her on the blanket. I quickly held her hand, hoping she wouldn’t notice.
I moved closer to her, feeling the warmth emanating from her.
“Ahana, I missed you. I apologize…”
I whispered, gently kssing her hand.
I embraced her, and she responded in kind, drawing closer.
“Ansh…”
“Hmmm…” I softly murmured.
“I overheard that…” Her gentle voice reached my ears, as they were close to her.
On impulse, I looked at her. Her face was nestled against my chest, but I realized she had heard me clearly.
However, it didn’t bother me. I smiled and pulled her closer, and the rest was taken care of by our sleep.

AHANA’S POV
I woke up as the sun rays fell on my face. I gently opened my eyes.
Ansh’s hand was around my waist, but it wasn’t as tight as before.
I still remember him saying he missed me, but I doubted if it was true. I didn’t feel like going to the office today.
I also had to plan for the surprise party. Ansh looked peaceful as he slept. If there was something between us, I would have kissed him without a doubt.
Why am I even thinking like this… “Until when are you planning to stare at me? I hope you’re not imagining kissing me,” he said. When did he wake up?
“Whatever…” But before I could get up, he pulled me back onto the bed, and I hit against his chest.
“Don’t you want to go to the office, Mr. Workaholic?” I said.
“Hmmm… I’ll get up, but I don’t feel like it. Are you not coming to the office?”
“No… I’m working from home.”
“Why? Are you trying to be a housewife?” he asked.
“Ha… In your dreams… I’m just tired. I’ll work from home. And why are you asking? Is my husband missing me at work?” I said, laughing.
“So, my wife is flirting with me now…” he said, laughing.
I quickly got off the bed and went to brush my teeth. When I came out, Ansh was still lazily lying on the bed.
I noticed him watching me, but then I proceeded to the kitchen to make breakfast.
Usually, I only make coffee as Sara has already made the rest, but today I wanted to make it.
After finishing, I called Dad and Grandad, and they happily joined me for a family breakfast.
“Where is Ansh?” Grandad asked.
“I think he is…” Before I could finish, I was interrupted.
“Here I am…” I saw him coming down the stairs, dressed perfectly in a suit and tie, with his hair gelled and looking neat. He was ready for work.
“I’m going for a meeting. See you in the evening,” he said abruptly. His old cold demeanor had returned.
“Why don’t you have breakfast with us, son? Ahana’s coffee is awesome. Why don’t you give it a try?” Dad said. I was just staring at him. I couldn’t stand him, and I couldn’t understand him either.
“I’m really busy, Dad… Bye, Dad. Bye, Grandad,” he said and left. It was as if I didn’t exist.
He didn’t even spare a glance. I don’t understand why he acts this way. I wonder if he was drunk last night.
“Ahana… He’s always like this. I hope you don’t mind him,” Dad said, observing my expression.
“No… I think I know him now,” I lied. That was an understatement. I didn’t really know Ansh at all. He had all the answers to his actions.
“Are you not going to the office?”
“No, Grandad. Actually, I have something to tell both of you.”
