“I…….I…….”just by starring at his angry face, I didn’t know what to say.
“I thought I made it clear to you that the bed is prohibited for you”He asked
“Yes you did and am sorry that I slept on it without your permission but after the class, I felt so tired and I just……..”
“Why did you pretend to be Nina? Why didnt you say any thing when I was talking to you”He asked
“I…. I”I began to stutter again and out of anger
He jerked me forward and I ended up falling into his arms
I would have got up but he had his hand on me
“What did you hope to achieve by pretending to be Nina”He asked
“Nothing, Have told you already, I slept off on the bed and am sorry, It won’t ever happen again”I said feeling flustered by being this close to him
He didn’t say any thing but instead, He kept on starring at me intently.
I tried to pull away but he held me back still starring at me
“Now that I look at it, The colour of your eyes is different”He whispered gently
The door opened and Nina walked in, as soon as we both saw her, I moved out of his arms while he let me go immediately
“What’s going on” She asked starring at us
“Its nothing”Brian replied and quickly I left the room not wanting them to notice the blush I had on my face or to hear the frantic noise that my heart was making.
As soon as I got to the stairs, I breathed in deeply, Trying to stop the frantic beat of my heart.
Why did he have to hold unto me, Am sure that Nina intruding on us will certainly have its own consequence
That’s his own problem, Let him find some thing to tell her, After all he was the one holding onto me.
I need to get some fresh air, I thought heading straight outside.
I stayed in the garden for a very long time, Hoping that by delaying myself there, They would have gone to sleep.
But my effort was fruitless cause as soon as I turned, I saw Nina coming towards me
“We haven’t talked to each other ever since the day Micheal kidnapped the both of us”She began as soon as she got to me.
“I don’t know what we have to talk about,As far as am concerned you are here on your own and am here on my own”I replied
“You seem to be forgetting that some thing links the both of us together and that is Micheal”
“How can I ever forget, Tell me why did Micheal realeased you, The last thing he said was that he didn’t trust you”
“He had no option. You were getting Brian to be suspicious of you and he didn’t want that, So he had no option than to let me go”
“Tell me some thing Nina do you love Brian, Maybe you started to feel some thing for him “I asked
“You already know my answer and it won’t ever change”She said
“You are saying you still don’t love him?”
“No! You do love him right?”,She asked and when I took long to answer, She drew up her conclusions
“You do love him, That’s bad! I wonder what Micheal will do when he knows about your feeling”She said
“I don’t love Brian”I said
“You do! Only a fool wouldn’t see the look in your eyes when you stare at him”
“I don’t want to talk about this”I said walking past her
“Am willing to keep this a secret!”She said and I stopped
“What did you say?”
“I said am willing to keep it a secret from Micheal and in exchange you don’t get close to Brian ”
“Why can’t I be close to him?”
“Because I want him for myself, I might not love him but he is the only way I can become rich, I don’t mind being his mistress while you are his wife, All I want is for him to keep on giving me his attention”She said
“Brian hates the sight of me, You can be rest assured,You will always be the one he gives all his attention to”I replied
“Good then, We have both agreed on one thing”She said and I turned to leave
“What about Micheal plan? His aim is to get rid of Brian,What are you going to do when that happen?”I asked her
She smiled and walked towards me “I can be rest assured,Since I have some one who loves him so much, Am sure that no harm will come on him”She replied
“What if I decide to join hands with Micheal”
“You! Join hands with Micheal, Don’t make me laugh! Your conscience won’t let you sit back and watch him die because you love him and that’s all I need, you love him and protect him and he loves me and gives me all I need, Isn’t that the most perfect thing”She said and Pat my arm before sauntering off
I would have loved to throw it back on her face that I don’t care what might happen to Brian.
But I do care and I won’t want to see him hurt by these two demon
One who is very close to him and the other who is ready to pounce on him if he gets a little chance.
Sighing deeply I went back to the room only to see the two of them already on the bed.
I wished it was me that was sleeping beside him, Wished I had been the one he loved but that wouldn’t be happening.
Nina is by his side and she wouldnt leave him for any thing in the world.
I went to take a shower and then I made my bed and layed on it and before I knew it, I was asleep in no time.
THE NEXT DAY
“You are really doing good your Highness, You did great!” The instructor said as she read all of my answers
“You have been a good teacher and am glad you were my teacher”I said gently
“Thank you your Highness, now I can be rest assured that you know what to do when the coronation day comes right?”
“Yes”I replied
Its been a long and tiring day as usual and class today was a bit interesting and it was because our main topic was all about Brian.
I hardly knew a thing about him in person but today I got to know a lot, It was the job of the future queen to know things about her her husband.
And thanks to this class, I now know a lot of thing, I thought to myself.
I was heading to the garden with my escourts behind me when I got a phone call from Micheal.
I didn’t want to pick at first but when it kept on ringing,I had no choice but to answer it
“What is it?”
“What’s with the mood?” He asked
“I don’t want to talk to you Micheal, You can give Nina a call,Good by…….”
“Don’t you dare hang up the phone! I only called to tell you about the surprise package I had sent for Brian but since you are not interested then well then goodby…… ”
“What are you talking about ! What package did you send ?”
“Well it’s a nice little surprise, Am sure that he would lov……..”I didn’t wait to listen to him because I was already heading to the house.
I could hear my escourts running after me,Calling me to stop but nothing matters than to save Brian life.
He didn’t go to work today and so he must be in the study,I thought as i ran into the study but there was no sign of him .
I went to the room only to find Nina there
“Where is Brian?”I asked and she smiled
“Oh so you know”
“Know what?”I asked
“That as we are speaking his life is in danger?”
“Just tell me where he is?”I yelled at her
“I have no idea and let me tell you that what is going to harm Brian as of this moment is being taken to him, I hope you can save him before he takes that thing”She said and immediately I ran outside.
I was heading to the patio when I saw a maid going into the balcony with a cup of tea with her.
I quickly ran to the balcony and when I got there it was to see that he had collected the cup and was about to drink the content
“No Brian! Don’t drink it!”I yelled and immediately ran towards him to hit the cup from his hand making the content spill on the floor.
