OUR MARRIAGE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER : EPISODES 41 – 50

Episode 45

Then I explained my plan about Ansh’s upcoming birthday, which was in two days. I told them how Piya and I decided to give him a surprise. I provided all the details.

“That’s wonderful. I’m really happy that Ansh is lucky to have you. He’s so difficult, yet you’re doing so much to make him happy,” Dad said, sounding pleased.

Even I didn’t know why I was doing all this. But once I decide on something, I intend to follow through with it, regardless of how difficult the other person may be.

“If you need any assistance, please call us.”

They both walked back to their work, and I returned to the kitchen, where I had a lot of planning to do. Sara entered as usual, saying, “Ma’am, Grandad wants his coffee, just like always. Can you please make it?” However, today, I had my doubts.

She always made the same request, but something felt off this time. I asked her firmly, “Tell me the truth, Sara. Isn’t it Ansh who always demands the coffee, and you lie to me?” She immediately gave in.

“I’m sorry, ma’am. It’s Ansh, sir, who wants your coffee every day before leaving. He waits in his car.

He warned me that if I told you the truth, I would lose my job,” she confessed, almost on the verge of breaking down.

“Ah! Sara, it’s okay. You can make it yourself and serve him. If he finds out that I didn’t make it, give him this,” I hastily scribbled a message on a piece of paper while Sara prepared the coffee. Then, I sent her off to the garage.

I followed closely behind, eager to witness his reaction. Ansh was such a liar. I didn’t know why I had believed him about that Jia story. Perhaps his eyes had seemed sincere back then.

I hid behind the door as Sara handed Ansh the coffee. As soon as he took a sip, he spat it out, visibly angry. I couldn’t help but smile.

“What the… Where the heck is the coffee made by Ahana? Didn’t you get it, Sara?” he shouted at the top of his voice.

Sara remained silent and promptly handed him the paper I had given her.

He read it, and I could see that it further fueled his anger. He instructed his driver to leave immediately. I couldn’t help but chuckle.

I hoped that our next encounter wouldn’t be a pleasant one, but I knew he would surely enjoy the surprise. I had written:

“Ansh, if you genuinely want my coffee, have the courage to ask for it instead of playing these sneaky games.

If you want it, have it with everyone else at the breakfast table. Sara won’t bring it to you by lying to me. Have a nice day.

AHANA.?”

I hoped he would learn his lesson for messing with me. I continued to laugh. It felt satisfying that at least he enjoyed my coffee. Now I had to decide what gift to give that jerk.

He already had everything that anyone could desire, thanks to being a wealthy brat. But after pondering for an hour, I finally settled on something.

I had always liked the color black, especially on men wearing black shirts. It suited some smart guys really well.

My father always looked handsome in the black shirt I had gifted him.

I knew Ansh probably owned some black shirts, but I decided to give him a black Van Huesen shirt. A crisp and elegant black shirt would undoubtedly make him look more handsome.

Although I had never seen him in a perfect black outfit before. Additionally, I thought of giving him a Ganesha idol to provide him with protection and strength at all times.

Around noon, I grabbed my car keys and went shopping. It had been a while since I had done that. I asked Piya to come along, but she was busy with work.

I instructed her to handle the catering while I took care of the cake and decorations.

I was certain that Ansh would still go to the office on his birthday, allowing me to sneak around and check on the preparations.

I chose a black dress to wear to the party, which perfectly matched Ansh’s shirt.

Now I was really getting excited. Shopping alone isn’t fun, but I still managed.

My dress was a bit above knee length and had splits with flares. It looked amazing. It wasn’t very heavy. Sweet and sober.

It was a perfect black with a v-neck. I already had black sandals.

At around 6, I returned home. I was busy the entire day with the preparations and giving invitations on my way home.

Tomorrow I’ll have to go to the office for an important meeting, and I had to look at the presentation now.

When I returned, Ansh was still not home. I was tired, but the day hadn’t come to an end.

I set to work on my laptop, having some snacks. When I looked up, it was already 11.

I wonder why Ansh didn’t come home. Usually, he is always late.

Later, I went to the gym and had a strong coffee. I waited for Ansh always. I just want to know if he is home or not.

Just then my cell was ringing, bringing me back to reality.
It was Jaai. A big smile appeared on my face.
