I was with Jenny on the veranda when promise arrived with Nick.
“Hi Jenny,hi Sophie”said promise.
“Hi”I and Jenny chorused.
“Hi Nick”said Jenny.
“Hi”Nick said.
“Jenny ,I am thirsty”said promise.
“Come,let me give you some water”Jenny and promise went inside the house leaving me with Nick.

The moment Jenny and promise left,I wished the ground would just open and swallow me alive.
“Hi Sophie”I said.
“Hi ,you don’t look comfortable why?”she said and I felt embarrassed,I didn’t know it’s too obvious.
“It’s nothing”I said.
“Okey”she looked away.
“Am,Sophie”I called and she looked at me.”am,can we be”before I finish my statement,promise come out.
“Nick,I brought you some”he said handing me a bottle of water.

I can say things are getting worse now.
We had a test this week and the results are out.
The teacher walked into the classroom with a sad face.
“I am done marking your papers but I am disappointed in some of you,as simple as it was,I don’t expect some of you to fail”she said looking at me,I wonder what I have done this time around
“Nick,meet me after classes”she said and walk out of the classroom.
In no time,the bell ring and I run to her office.
“Nick,what is wrong with you?”the teacher asked me.
“I am fine madam”I said.
“Then if your fine,how can you explain this?”she handed me a paper.
“What?!45%?how?”I asked myself.
“Nicolas,how could you fail this simple test. Should I inform your parents about this?”the teacher said.
“No,please don’t involve my parents,I promise I will change”I said.
“You better change coz if this repeat itself,I will tell your parents about your sudden change”the teacher said and I walked out of the office.
“What?45%?Nicolas,how come?”Jenny and promise where shocked .
I have never scored below 95 in my entire life,I mean the three of us,we always score 95 and above but now it’s 45.
“Nick,I know that something is troubling you,you cannot hide it from me,please tell me,am your best friend”promise said.
I cannot hide it anymore.
“Guys,I like a certain girl,the more I try to forget about her,the more I think about her. I don know what to do”I said and they both looked at me
“Nicolas in love?”they were both shocked.
“With who?tell us the girl who’ve got the almighty Nicolas Patel’s heart”Jenny said.
