Sophie entered the house and found her parents eating some fruits.
“Sophie,come and join us”said her mother.
Like a sheep ready to be slaughted,Sophie went and sat beside her mother.
“Debbie,why are you acting like a walking corpse?”he mother asked.
“It’s nothing just that I need water”said Sophie while excusing herself.
“Mmh,she think we don’t know what’s wrong with her. I wonder who the guy could be”her mother concluded.
?THE NEXT DAY?
Sophie sat on the veranda of the house when a car stopped in their compound.
“Nicolas?”she was shocked.
“Hi Sophie”said Nick as he approach her
“What are you doing here?”asked Sophie,before Nick could answer,her mom showed up.
“Morning ma’am”said Nick.
“Morning Nick,how are your parents?”asked Sophie’s mom
“They are fine. Ma’am,can I borrow Sophie for 20 minites?”he said.
“Nick?!mom don’t mind him”Sophie said.
“It’s fine,you can have her”mom said.
“Thank you mom”said Nick.
?AT THE RIVER?
“Nick,what prompted you to come to my house?”Sophie yelled.
“Am sorry about that. Just that I missed you. And am sorry about yesterday”said Nick.
“It’s fine,but don’t ever do that again. Well,I have to go before mom suspect anything”Sophie said.
?TWO YEARS LATER?
Nick,promise and Jenny wrote their senior secondary finale exams.
? SOPHIE’S POV ?
Mom called for me,I rushed out only to see the worse nightmare of my life
“Sophie,do you know him?”mom asked.
“Yes,he is Daniel”,I said.
“Well,he is here to ask for your hand in marriage”dad spilled the beans and my breath seized for a minute.
“What?!”
“What do you say about it?”Mon asked.
“Daniel,have I not warn you to stay away from me?there are other girls out there,leave me alone”I said.
“But Sophie,of all the girls I’ve met,I really like you”he said
“Daniel,I don’t like you!!”I said.
“Is it because of Nicolas?”James said and my heart skipped. This boy will never kill me..
“Wich Nicolas?”dad asked
“The son of the former president,she said he is her boyfriend”explained Dani.
“Mom,don’t listen to him,Nicolas is nothing but a friend”I said.
“Is Nick really just a friend?”mom asked.
“You know me well mom,I cannot disobey you,Nick is just a friend”I lied.
“Okey. So Daniel,as you’ve heard,my daughter is not interested,we are sorry”dad concluded.
