“Dad,what about Sophie?”I asked
“Nick,it’s been three days now but Sophie is nowhere to be found”dad said and my heart skipped.
“I met her three days ago carrying a bag,she asked me for some cash and I gave her but she didn’t tell me where she was going”he explained.
“Dad,your joking right?”I said.
“She just told me to tell you not to worry,she is safe and she loves you”he said.
“How can I not worry about her when I don’t even know if she is safe or not? This girl wants to kill me”I said
“Don’t worry Nick,I believe that she is fine wherever she is” Tony said comforting me.
“She left this for you”he handed me a letter.
“I have to go now, don’t do anything stupid Nick”dad warned me.
“Don’t worry ,I will watch over him. Be assured”Tony said to my father before he left.
?”Dear my beloved Nick?
By the time your reading this letter,am sure you’ve arleady heard about my disappearance. Well,I have to live,there is an issue that I do not want my parents to get involved in. I know that you won’t like my decision,but it’s for our own good. Nick,there is something I would have loved to tell you but am afraid it will be a burden to your education so I will keep it a secret. I hope your studies are going well,I cannot wait to meet my personal doctor. I cannot tell you where I am now,but just know that am safe and with time,I will return home.am still keeping our promise,hope your also doing the same. Don’t worry about me,I love you so much”

I read the letter and hold it close to my heart.
“I love you too Sophie,please anywhere your stay safe for me”I said.
“It’s fine Nick”Tony said.

“Good morning sister”Lusungu,my older sister greeted me.
“Morning Lusungu,where is Sophie?”I asked her.
“Nneche,ever since that girl stepped into this house,all she does is cry”Lusungu said.
“Just give her sometime to adjust,there is a lot on her mind”I said
“But Lusungu,why did you help that poor girl?”she asked.
“Sister,ever since I made friends with Sophie,my life has changed for the better,being poor does not mean that you should be an outcast. Now because of Sophie,I know what the world really is. When I was friends with Cindy,all I knew was,party,shopping, gossiping and revenge,but with Sophie,I know what life means,there is nothing that is worthy that true friendship”I said with a smile as Sophie approached me.
