JE TA’IME

Chris knew nothing was going on between Ella and Pastor D, he still went to stay with Ella.

Pastor D and Ella didn’t talk that day, who would speak first? There was total silence until evening, You would think they broke up from a relationship.

Ella, though annoyed, couldn’t stop thinking about Pastor D. He had captured her heart beyond imagining.

She even dreamt and saw him kneeling to propose. She knew it was her mind, but she liked it, she laughed to herself, ‘impossicant’ I am unlucky, maybe I won’t ever marry.

Pastor D also had a sleepless night, he was praying occasionally for God to intervene and he concluded, “If I don’t act fast, I would lose my world.”

SCATTERED BY FIRE : EPISODE 1 – 10

The second day, early in the morning, he dressed, wore a nice fragrance and left to see Ella.

He got close to the house and fear gripped him, he waited and talked to himself, “What exactly am I going to do?

Apologize for what happened?

Explain to her? Or simply propose? No, I can’t propose to someone angry with me. I will start by apologizing.

He moved close to the door with his hand on the doorbell, he sighed, it took him an eternity to press the bell.

Grannnranran…the bell rang.

It was like the bell was ringing in Pastor D’s heart. An adult like him was shivering because he would propose to a lady.

Ella heard the bell, it was still early, she thought it was those who came to deliver hot bread.

She was still in her nighty, a white nighty. She wore slippers and started moving to the door. Her white night was revealing her fair thighs. She tried to hold it to cover her thighs tightly to avoid revealing…

Ella was a fair lady, even though her eyes were swollen because she didn’t sleep well, her beauty couldn’t be hidden.

She had a white net on her head covering her natural hair. As she opened the door, Pastor D was stunned seeing Ella’s natural beauty.

Ella too was surprised to see Pastor D, she thought it was over. She opened the door halfway and leaned behind it, stylishly gazing at Pastor D. Both of them were silent for some seconds.

Pastor D broke the silence, ” Good morning, Princess.”

In her mind, she was like “Oh my….she called me princess.

He continued, “I owe you explanations for what happened yesterday…”

The thought of yesterday triggered Ella and she quickly interrupted, “Don’t worry, sir, why are you here?”

Pastor D, “Erm, just allow me to explain, I thought the food was from you, I am sorry, that Sister called Nneka is a d…de…( pastor D wanted to talk more but changed his mind to go straight to the point). Sister Ella, you are closer to me than a friend. I need someone like you in my life. I have a ministry, I have a boy…

You are a person of substance and with the way I feel peace in my heart about you, it will be a privilege if we become friends forever.”

Ella pretended to be checking the door, she came out a bit behind the door. Her toned skin showed more. Pastor D had never been tempted to grab her like before.

Yesterday, he saw Nneka’s nkedness, but he was not moved, he was rather scared. But there was Ella, spiritual, successful, rich parents…

Pastor D was gazing at Ella’s leg and a little part of her fair thigh.

Ella hid her blush and pretended to be serious, “I don’t understand you. Can you be clearer?”

Pastor D got tensed as she quickly looked away from Ella, he said, “I want us to journey life together as one flesh…and…erm…”

Chris came to the door behind Ella. Ella didn’t want him to ruin the sweet moment, “Chris, go and get my pulse from inside,” Ella said to prevent him from seeing his Dad or interrupting them.

“Ok, man of God, give me time to think about this, “Ella said blushing, she couldn’t hide her smile this time.

She locked the door against Pastor D and rested her back on it, she sighed as tears rolled her cheeks. Her two hands were behind her neck.

Pastor D stood before the closed door, but in her mind, he was still seeing Ella. He found it hard to take a step, “How will it end? Will I get a yes? But I saw her blushing.” Pastor D smiled too.

“But how on earth could a lady like this be available for me to marry?”

“Auntie, I can’t find the pulse, ” Chris shouted from the bedroom.

“Don’t worry, it’s fine, it’s in my car,” Ella said.

Pastor D heard Ella talk, he quickly strolled away.

Chris came to meet Ella.

“Chris, I have a question…your Daddy has asked me to come and be living with him, I mean, that I will be living with you two, when should I come?

“Yeeeeeep, Auntie, come today, come today…today,” Chris said jumping.

“Okay, you will dress and go home. I will come to your house later,” Ella narrated.

She then wrote on a piece of paper,

I WISH IT WAS A YES, BUT I’LL BE THERE BY 6 PM TO SEE YOUR FACE ONE MORE TIME BEFORE I TELL YOU A YES OR A NO.

She wrapped it in a white envelope and gave it to Chris. Chris delivered the parcel to his father.

“I will be carnal today, God have mercy on my soul,” Pastor D said. He took Chris to church, left him in the children’s church, but he didn’t wait for the service.

“I need some carnality, menh, ” he said smiling. He did a little re-arrangement in the sitting room and started playing the song one more time. He was dressed nicely as he sat tapping his legs to the rhythm of the song.

“My sugar banana, I wanna tell you my mind, wanna tell you my mind ooo….” the music buzzed on.

Then his phone rang, he rushed to pick it up thinking that would be Ella, it was an unknown number. He picked,

“Hello, Darling, how are you? The voice said r®mantically.

” Who is that?” Pastor D said frowning.

“It’s me, Nneka,”

Pastor D remained silent but in his mind he was like, you shall be scattered by fire!

The voice spoke further, “Please, are you in church, I would like to see you after the service.”

“No, I am not in church and we can’t see,’ he objected.

We got instance, someone knocked at the door. Pastor D quickly cut the call and increased the music volume. He cussed within his breath, “Alakoba.”

The music continued. Pastor D opened, Ella was standing outdoors, she could hear the music faintly:

? ? “…see I never thought that I’d find someone like you…..tatatatatatata…and there is nothing I can do. I used to lie to friends that I’d always be a player….”

She dressed gorgeously holding a piece of white paper with something written on it, her eyes were closed as she displayed the paper in her hand by the doorstep.

As he opened the door, the music became louder and Ella…

? “Since I set my eyes on you, Omo you don make me fall in love.”

Ella laughed at the music and said, “Pasi…tor!” Then she brought the paper in her hand up and on it was written boldly,

“OUI, JE TA’IME”

Pastor covered his mouth with his phone in his hand, he was wowed. At that instance, his phone rang again…
