?INTERMISSION?

?´???`?

“Ashley I’m so glad we will be sharing the same room.” Myra said as well stepped inside the room given to us.

“Okay.” Feeble reply but the only one I could come up with.

“Did you know that two students are still going to join us right?”

“Okay.” She shrugged.

“Have you heard about the Eco forest? Everyone is talking about it, I can’t wait to check it and…

“You talk too much Myra.” I said and walked toward a bed, I laid my luggage on the bed and unzip it. I brought out my towel and things I need.

“I’m sorry.” She said in a low voice and moved toward the next bed.

I wanted to apologize to her for being rude but I just don’t know how to say sorry to people who ain’t my parent.

“You dyed your hair?” I asked even I knew that my question was quite ridiculous.

“Yeah I dyed it. Oh you didn’t notice?” I nodded and smiled.

“It’s pretty. I love the red color.” I complimented and sent a short smile.

“You never dyed your hair before?” She inquired and I nodded grimly. “You should try it and I’m pretty sure you’re gonna love it.” She winked and laughed.

“You look like a cute baby when you wink, do it often. Odette won’t let me dye my hair and i don’t want to.” I Displayed with my hands. “I’m gonna make use of the bathroom now.” I opened the door and stepped inside.

I removed the hair pins one after the other and dropped it inside the washbasin. I stepped under the shower and turned it on. I ran my hands through my hair even though I couldn’t reach for for the full length.

I shut my eyes and enjoyed the cold shower.

?

I grabbed my towel from the towel rail and wrapped it around my waist. I picked my hair pins before stepping out of the bathroom.

“Omo! Is that you? Ashley I can’t believe i’ll be sharing same room with a goddess. You look appealing with that wet hair.” A lady, probably my roommate said.

I didn’t say anything rather I stuffed toward the stool and picked a hairbrush from the dressing table. I sighed frustratedly, how am I supposed to brush this hair, I miss Odette.

“If you don’t mind I can help.” Another lady said. I turned back to look at who spoken. It was a skinny lady with a blonde brown hair. She stood up and sidled over.

“And this?” I showed off the pins asking if she knows how to use it.

“Sure, I’m Rosetta by the way and that’s my friend Charlie.” She pointed at the other lady that spoken earlier.

“I love your auras.” I found myself smiling at them. I don’t know what’s happening but I think I like them already.

I handed the hairbrush and stared at my reflection in the mirror.

“I’ve always wanted to get close to you but it seems like you don’t want anyone around you.”

“Not really, I’ve got a friend.” I mumbled.

“Who?” I caught a glimpse of Myra, she sat quietly on the bed watching us secretly. I could sense her jealousy.

“Myra, she’s my friend.” She looked at me and widened in surprise.

“Really? I’m really surprised. Everyone in the class knows she stalks a lot and you never get along with her.” Rosetta uttered in a calm voice.

“Well I changed my mind and made her my friend.” I shrugged my shoulders.

“My g©sh! Can I be your friend too? Please Ashley.” Charlie asked.

“What do you think Myra?” She shrugged and blinked abruptly.

“I don’t really know.” She replied innocently.

“You heard what my best friend said right? We are gonna think about it. Myra.” I called out.

“Yeah.” She stood up and walked over. I gesticulated her to bend over and I whispered something in her ear.

“Okay.” She sidled back towards the bed.

Don’t ask me what I’m planning to do, I know exactly what I’m doing.

“You hair is damn long Ashley, charlie I need your help.” She waved at Charlie to come close.

I watched as they braided it in French braid style and used hair pins to held it together.

“We did it.” They smiled and I gave them a thumb up. I grabbed my dresses and I quickly put them on.

“Myra mind if we stroll around.” She was taken aback by the sudden change.

“Huh? Oh of course yes I don’t mind.” She wore her slippers and we walked out of the room. We descended the stairs to the receptionist office. We looked for a perfect place to seat.

“Yeah let’s sit here.”

“Why did you call me here?” She asked and I spread my lips and widened my eyes.

“I just want to talk.” I pouted out. “Sit down Myra.” I pointed at the seat before me. I took a seat and adjusted my dress.

“Myra must you please your mother everytime?” Perplexed, she arched her brows.

“Pardon?”

“The last time I checked, you stalked me for a reason. Am I right?” She didn’t respond so I proceeded. “Let your mother deal with her mess alone, I don’t want you to get involved in her mess. Listen to me Myra, you’re my sister not my friend, Fredrick is our cousin and you can’t fall in love with your cousin. Myra I don’t know your next plan and I’m not telling you this because I wanted you to know who I am, you may not say a word but I know everything. At the end of this game, you’re going to lose. No one wants to hurt you and I’m not going to convince you to quit. I don’t want to hurt you and I’m not going to hurt you only if you quit. Your mother might have feed you with lies. Think big, think big and stop barking at the wrong tree. I didn’t want to tell you this but for the sake of Fred, I won’t let anything happens to you only if you quit.”

“What do you mean?” She eventually said something.

“Exactly what you heard.” I flashed her a delighted smile.

“I think I’m starving.” I stood up and tapped the table.

“Ashley what if I say I didn’t understand all what you’ve said.” She lied.

I snapped my fingers at her face. “Get hold of yourself. If you’re not careful you’re gonna pay for your parent’s sins.”

“Ashley don’t you dare address my parent like that.” She seethed.

“Before the end of this camp I’m gonna teach you a lesson. Enjoy your stay.” I smirked and walked away.

She has just two options.

? ?Gabriel??

After the first activity, I was so exhausted so I ended up sitting on the ground not far from the beach.

“I’m thirsty, very thirsty.” I mumbled to myself. I stood up and dusted my body. I was on my way heading toward a shop when I saw Ashley. For the first time I admired her beauty, the way her hair sways around because of the cold breeze even though part of her hair were on the ground but it seemed like she wasn’t bothered at all.

“Stop drooling.” Fredrick snapped his fingers and jolt me out of out my silly thought.

“Of course not I’m not drooling. I was just looking at, at, at the sand. It’s cool here.” I lied and he burst into laughter.

“Oh my g©sh, don’t even try to lie next time. I know you’re looking at Ashley right? Come on, be a good boy and… You know what I mean right?” He winked and I hissed.

“I’m thirsty.” I tried to change the topic.

“Look out, Ashley is holding a bottle. Go to her now and tell her you are thirsty. I’m pretty sure she’s gonna give it to you, it seems like she’s in good mood today.” He said with a wink. I hit his shoulder.

“Are you insane?”

“Nope I’m already insane.” He said sarcastically.

“This isn’t hilarious Fred.”

“And I’m not joking either. Come on let’s go.” He grabbed my waist and dragged me along with him.

“Let it go Fred.” I tried to break free from his hard grip but I came. It was like he used some forces.

“Stop thinking and focus. Hey Ashley.” He called out and let go of my hand.

Ashley fixed her gaze on us and lifted a brow. “What?”

“What’s up sis?” Fred winked and Ashley scoffed.

“How noisy?” She rolled her eyes.

“I’m sorry Ashy. Please forgive your silly brother, he’s not gonna do that again.” He tugged a strand of her hair behind her ear. I stood like a statue watching them, Ashley gaze never left mine but all of a sudden her hair glimmered.

“What’s he doing here Fred?” She asked calmly.

“Oh Gabriel say something.” Fred whispered to me.

“Ashley… Okay. Frankly, I didn’t come here to apologize. Yeah I wanna make it up to you but I guess ego comes from hand to hand. You don’t wanna be my friend then fine.” I hesitated.

“Gabriel.” Fredrick called out in between clenched teeth. Ashley was staring at me without saying anything.

“Well the truth is… I’m thirsty, could you please give me some water please.” I mumbled.

“I swear Gabriel I’m gonna kill you.” Fredrick whispered repeatedly even though I hardly hear what he said.

“You mean this?” She lifted the bottle she was holding. I nodded. “Sure you can have it then.”

“Okay.” She handed it. I unclasped it and gulped down everything at once. Dmn it!

“Are you okay now?” She asked.

Wait! Did she just ask if I’m okay? What’s wrong with her.

“Ashley I want…

“I’m so glad you’re okay now.” She took some stepped towards me and maintained her casual gaze. “Do you need anything else?” She stood so close to me. I shook my hand vigorously.

I want dumbfounded, nope I’m not drooling right?.

“How about this?” She stepped on my toe and at the same time I can’t lift my hands.

“A aah, ouch. You’ll crash my fucking toe!” I cried out as she used her bandage boot to pinned it down when I tried to lift it.

“How dare you drink my water?” She put more pressure and I groaned while Fred kept laughing like a kid. “Idiot no thank you Ashley?”

“More Ashley, he deserves it.”

“How dare you tell me that? You’re rude. The next time you come closer, I might not be in good mood.” She moved backward and I quickly bend down to nurse my toe.

She scoffed and walked away.

“Oh my goodness! My stomach, what just happened? Gabriel what’s wrong.” Fredrick mocked and I threw him a glared.

“She has destroyed my leg.” I screamed.

“Idiot mine might been way worse then this. You know what? I don’t think you and Ashley would ever get along, I guess ego comes from hand to hand.” He mimicked and knocked my head.

“Wait! I don’t understand something, I tried to lift my hand back then but I can’t. It was like my hands were pinned down by force. It happened when you held my waist back then.”

“Are you serious?”

“Dead serious.”

“Okay then.” He said and I contacted my lips into a frown.

“Just that?”

“Let’s leave now, we have to prepare for the eco forest.” He was trying to steer the conversation.

“You are hiding something?”

“Not really.”
