Chapter 48

What made them a little bit calm is that Draco isn’t back yet.

What scares them too, is that knowing the mo.nster he is, he could appear any moment they least expected.

“I miss you Lyra, I wish you would come visit me like you promised” she muttered and sighed.

The memories of what she taught her, displayed in her head as she started cooking.

Pearl placed the whisked egg down and brought out the oil, but just as she was about to add pour it on the frypan, a maid took it from her.

“Sorry for the interruption young miss, let me help you with it” she said with a sheepish smile and poured the oil herself.

“I don’t want anyone interfering again” she ordered and they nodded slowly.

Pearl resumed her cooking and they kept watching her closely, praying silently that in their hearts that nothing hurts her, not even a tiny scratch.

“Am done now, thanks for your time” she smiled, carrying her food with her as she left the kitchen.

The maids released the breathe they have been holding back as she left. They were glad nothing happened to her.

“I pray Master returns before she decides to start making lunch and dinner herself” one of the maids said and the rest nodded in agreement.

(Vince’s Suite)

“You seem quite calm about your brother” Seth said.

Right now, he and Vince are playing a game of chess.

“Why should I be worried?” Vince asked with his eyes focused on the game.

“You’re right, there is nothing to be worried about” he smiled.

“If anyone is worried here, that should be you” Vince said and Seth looked at him confusingly.

“I have noticed you have been playing some strange game lately or should I say known game” he smirked.

“Maybe you have forgotten dear nephew, that am a man of games” Seth replied, smiling mischievously.

“Of course I know uncle” Vince smiled back.

“But this time seems different” he said, raising his brow.

“Just like the game of cards, everyone wants to pull that deadly card that would destroy their opponent’s.

That’s exactly what I am doing” Seth replied with a short smile.

“Hope you pull the right one” Vince smirked.

“Never pull the wrong one” he smirked back.

“Excuse me my Lords, here are your drinks” a servant said, placing the tray of drinks down.

“To succeed,” Vince said with a smile as he lifted his cup for a toast.

“To our success” Seth smiled and they clicked their cups together.

As the two men drank, their dvilish eyes looked into each other like they were communicating through them.

Evie walked out of the store after she bought what she needed.

Her house is not far from where she is so she decided to trek.

Her walk was calm as she listened to music from her phone. She also hummed as she listened to it.

“Why the fk now?” She growled as a call interrupted her music.

She brought her phone out to see the caller and when she did, she got angrier.

The caller is Jax.

“Why can’t that annoying jerk let me be?” She scoffed angrily and put her phone back inside her pocket.

She continued listening to her music and resumed her walking.

Out of the blue, someone pulled her forcefully into a dark alley.

The street was actually quiet and no one was passing because it’s late. This was what gave her capture a very opportunity.

“Ahh!!! Let go of me, let me go, help!!!” These were her screams as she kept being dragged into their lair.

The person dropped her roughly on the ground and she crawled back, seeing the two huge men in front of her.
