Nyx lothario

I took Ryder’s hand as held me to the dance floor. His hands went to my waist pulling me closer to him and my hand rested on his shoulder.

“You look beautiful”

I just nodded my head avoiding his gaze, my eyes searching for Eric and Seth. Now I’m regretting agreeing to this dance.

“It’s a shock to see Eric attend this ball with someone else” he Said and that got my attention.

“What do you mean by that?”

A smirk appeared on his face and I’m sure he’s happy because he already has my attention.

“I mean the only person that usually attends this party or any party that’s held for billionaires is Ariel.

But after she died he always comes alone so I’m just wondering…”

Something caught my attention, Ariel died. I thought it was her that left Eric .

Why didn’t I think about that?

What happened to her?

Ryder noticed my confused look “Eric doesn’t didn’t tell you”

He let out a dry laugh and I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable about him. His aura around him was replaced with danger .

I tried to pull away but he held me tight.

“Let me tell you a little story Nyx”

How the h’ll did he know my name?

“You see, I was once Eric’s best friend just like Seth. We grew up together and I always made sure to stay at Eric’s side.

Although Eric was a stubborn kid, I still loved him even if he never listened but that didn’t matter at all.”

“I , Seth and Eric were the kids that every parent wished to have although Seth and Eric were closer but they didn’t make me feel less important.

Our parents were close to each other so we went on vacation together, we couldn’t even do without each other.

If we’re far from each others for so long one if us will fall sick”

I watched as Ryder laughed like he was remembering the past but then his arm tightened around my waist making me hiss in pain.

“But everything changed when we were thirteen, when Ariel came into our life.

But before then I’ll tell you a little secret of your beloved Eric. You see, when Eric was just 7 years old he killed his mother.”

A gasp escaped my mouth as I was shaking my head in denial.

“You’re lying”

“Like I said Eric was my childhood friend but why didn’t he tell you anything about his past because only me knows how ugly on the inside he is.

Even that bstard Seth still stayed by his side even after all what he did.”

“Eric and his mother had an argument that afternoon and we had to leave his house. While Seth had gone I forgot my assignment in Eric’s bedroom.

As I walked inside I saw Eric bringing out a pill I haven’t seen before giving it to his mother.

At that period Eric’s mother was sick so he gave her the wrong pills and I saw how she coughed bI.ood before falling to the ground.

That was the day I feared Eric, everyone saw it as she committed svicide but I knew deep down who killed her.”

My eyes widened in shock.

There’s no way Eric will ever kill his Mom.

It’s not true.

“You can deny it all you want but I’ve known Eric since the day I was born.

As I was saying, I didn’t want to lose my best friend so I still stayed with him despite the fact I know his little secret.
