THE CUTE KOREAN EX CONVICT: Episode 51 – 60

Episode 57

……Rissa’s pov……….
The car stopped at the school parking lot and we sat for a while observing the airy environment.

Lot’s of other flashy cars were staged around and new faces occupied the sphere.

I just feel great about today.
My phone started ringing and I picked it up – mom’s calling.

“Rissa, I’m sorry for bringing in this bad news to you so early in the morning but something outrageous just happened. Two of your fathers companies was bombed to the ground! Luckily, before any staff could come to the office. No one was hurt but your father just lost more than three hundred billion dollars. Oh God! I’m freaking out…” She cried from the other side of the phone.

I gawked gazing at grandma.

“Relax, mom. Who could do such a thing??” I asked irritably.

“I honestly don’t know. Things are in chaos over here. I’m sorry dear. I don’t think I can attend for your graduation” She stated and I felt my pulse rifle.

Seriously??…

I turned off the phone angrily and tried smashing it but grandma stopped me immediately.

“Don’t do something you’d regret, just calm down sweetheart..” She urged and I inhaled.

“Dad’s companies were bombed this morning” I said taking rough breaths.

“Oh goodness. That’s horrible. The bad people targeted two??!! Those devils” She hooted with her eyes squinted.

“Whatever. Let’s just get today over with” I muttered and left the car.
The occasion had already started!
Grandma and I rushed in.

~~~~An Hour Later~~~
“Best student in Literature – Zion Jeffrey…” The woman called and the guy sitting beside me got up.
Everyone in the auditorium clapped as he walked boldly to the stage to receive his award.
“Alright students, We have come to the end of this wonderful event. There is a table outside containing various refreshments for the guests. But before we go, let’s make sure we take group photos. Let’s all step outside please…” The principal said and made the first move.
Everyone followed suit and we started leaving the auditorium.
Grandma and I interlocked hands as we left. The graduation gown was really huge on me but I still felt special wearing it.
*Rissa* Someone called and I looked around to see Alex, Lucas and some other guy that used to be friends with Mykel approaching us.
I left grandma and ran to Alex. We hugged so tight beaming with smile.
“Congratulations, Rissa! You look so big, now” She remarked enthusiastically.
I chuckled and went ahead to hug the rest. It felt so good seeing them again.
I was about to hug the other guy when he suddenly froze like he had seen a ghost. His eyeballs went directly past me.
“Mykel??” He called still transfixed.
I decided to quickly turn and take a look at the ghost that got him hooked.
I gasped.
Unbelievable! It was actually him or do we have the wrong person. He’s…he’s changed.
“Mykel!!!!” Alex screamed and jumped on him while he wrapped his hands around her.
I quickly removed my eyes getting uncomfortable all of a sudden.
I need some air…
We took photos, had a few refreshments and Lucas suggested we go to a bar and had drinks.
Since we are all now of age, we all agreed.
Grandma retired home with the car while I joined my friends.
We decided to walk to the bar. Alex talked nonstop about her new nanny.
Don’t be surprised an 18 years old still keeps nannies.
I tried as much as I could to give her full attention but I couldn’t deny the fact my mind was at the back where Mykel was. He was walking with Austin and Lucas and I had no idea what they were talking about.
I don’t even want to access his looks because he have changed a lot and we haven’t said a word to each other. Is he really back?
Ooh…I can’t believe he’s here to witness my graduation all the way from Korea.
We got to the bar in no time and we got a table.
Crazy enough, Mykel got to sit at the opposite of where I sat with Alex.
So awkward. Lucas was really in a weird mood as he ordered for all sort of drinks – vodka, whiskey, tequila and apple juice.
We played different games and the penalty was to drink a small cup of the mixed drink.
Alex went first and she couldn’t come up with an answer. Austin made her drink though Lucas protested against it. Hmm, strange.
Mykel went next and he took a shot after failing the question. As he drank from the cup, his eyes didn’t leave mine.
Super creepy.
“God! It’s getting late. Rissa, do you have enough room at your grandma’s so we can spend the night?” Austin asked and I nodded.
“What about you, Mykel?? Are coming with us?” He asked him while I looked away.
“Yes, I’m spending the night as well” He replied and when I looked, he was staring at me softly.
I totally felt like being swallowed by the ground.
