Chapter Twenty Eight

Josh stood up and moved towards Erica.
“You shouldn’t be worried, I promise to look into this case and bring justice to…”

Erica moved away from him with a weird smile on her face. She didn’t understand why he would touch her.

“I’m not worried. He hasn’t strike again, so probably he’s tired and wants to give up” She said.

“Yeah, you’re right. The culprit hasn’t strike yet. What if he’s planning something big that could end your life at once huh, Erica?” Calvin asked.

“I’ll send some cops to protect you now. You shouldn’t go anywhere not do anything by yourself” Josh said while Erica gave a questioning look.

“Are they gonna bath me?” She scoffed and walked to her seat.

“I have a gift okay? I can take care of myself. If I’m gonna die, I’m gonna know” she said and winked.

“She’s got a point” Calvin said, squeezing his mouth.

“Fine then, I’ll go ask Winnie some questions. Take care of yourself Erica!” He said and left.

Erica rolled her eyes and moved to her chair. She stopped when she heard Calvin coughing out some laughs.

She turned and stared at him.
“What’s funny sir?” She asked.

“I think Josh is trying to force himself on you” he said.

She smirked.
“What makes you think so? He’s just caring”

“I see. I’ve been with ladies and man for almost all my life. I know how they behave”

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in” he said.

A young good-looking man walked into the office. He had a very expensive wrist watch and a dark sunglass on. He was very handsome but not as the crazy twin. He had a diamond earring pinned to the lobe of his ears.

“Hey brother!” He greeted as he took off his sunglasses.

Erica stared at him from head to toe.
“I’ll excuse you”

“It’s okay, you don’t have to. You can stay” he said.

“Why are you here Theo?” Calvin asked his step brother.

“I just came to check up on you. I just flew into the country and I have a little problem with my accommodation”

“So, what are you saying?” He frowned.

“I was hoping to stay over at your place for two days” He asked.

“Well, you have to ask from Kelvin and not me” he replied and continued with his work. Erica just listened to their conversations softly. She remembered seeing his face at their father’s wedding.

“I’m kinda scared of your brother. I know he won’t say yes” he said.

“I’m sure he would. Now, leave my office. Erica!”

Erica secretly rolled her eyes and stood up.
“Sir!”

“Escort our unexpected visitor to Kelvin’s office” he said with a mocking smile.

“Yes sir”

Theo sighed and walked out of the office with Erica.

“I remember you, you are the girl from my father’s wedding. I thought you were dating Calvin or… Is it Kelvin?”

“It’s better you keep your mouth shut” she replied and pushed the door open.

“What do you want Barbie?”

“Pardon me sir. It’s Erica”

Kelvin heard her name and raised his head to stare at him.
“Oh, I thought it was… What is he doing here?” He growled angrily.

“Woah woah! Calm down bruh!”

Kelvin slammed his hand on the table and sprung up, heading towards him.

Theo quickly hid behind Erica, using her as a guard.
“Please Kelvin, don’t punch me!” He cries out.

Erica just gazed at Kelvin. She saw how people are scared of him but it’s not supposed to be so. The more they are scared of him, the more they’re gonna hate him. The more he’s nicer, the more they’re gonna love him.
That’s why they prefer Calvin more.

“Why are you hiding behind her? Come out now!” He yelled.

“Woah woah sir…” Erica said, walking towards Kelvin.
“Remember, you want to be nice to people. So as your teacher, I’ll advice you to smile and just let the words flow from your heart. I mean, polite words and don’t forget smile” she whispered to him.

Kelvin was staring at her lips as they moved slowly. She moved away from him and winked.

She pat Theo’s shoulders and walked out his office.
Theo was shivering in fear. He legs were wobbly.
He just watched as Kelvin walked to his chair and smiled at him. It was obvious that it was a fake smile but he was still working on how to give a real smile.

“Have your seat brother” he said.
Theo thought he was hearing the opposite of what he said.

“Seat?”

Kelvin groaned in frustration secretly. He wished he could stand up and punch him right under his jaw and tell at him the get the fk out of his office.

“Have your seat Theo!” He said again with a glimpse of anger in his throat.

“Sure…”

“What do you want again detective?” Winnie asked, sitting on the old floor.

“Just to ask some questions to ask” Josh said, staring at her.

“Spill it dkhead!” She said.

“Well, it’s about your mate sister. Did she have any enemy?” He asked.

Winnie scoffed and stared at him. She stood up and grabbed the gate.
“My sister was disowned by our parents. Everyone hated her because she was the only one lucky enough to get married to a rich man, Mr Bruno. We were six, mom, dad, Katie who is Erica’s mother, me, Vivian and Dave. We all lived in the woods downtown, poor, wretched!”

“So, she was hated by her own family members”

“Well, to kss!”

“What’s that?” He furrowed his eyebrows.

“Keep it simply short… I have no idea if she has any other enemies but our family, I know that for sure”

“Thank you, I’ll look into that now…”

“Wait detective. Do you really think you can find a person who klled a weird couple ten years ago? It’s all in the past man, just let it go. I need to leave here and see my kids” she spoke softly. Josh glared at her and walked away.

Calvin and Kelvin got back from the office.
They threw themselves on the couch together and sighed.

“What did you do to Theo? I bet you sent him out of your office” Calvin jokingly said.

“Hello brothers!”
They turned and saw Theo walking towards them with a bottle of wine and two glasses.

“I’m out of here” Kelvin said and walked to his room.

“How did you get here?” Calvin asked with surprise. He expected his brother to say no to him but… It was quite different.

“Your brother told me to stay for two days and get myself out of here on the second night”

“Good!” He said and left.

“Aren’t you gonna drink?” He yelled but Calvin waved his hand.

Barbie was in her room all through the day, her face was a bit swollen due to the little slap her brother gave her and she had a shoot tomorrow.
“Argh!” She groaned as she laid on the bed. The image of Kelvin slapping her played in her head all over and over again.

“I should do something about her soon” she said and grabbed her leather jacket. She took her car keys and left her room.
She didn’t know when she walked pass Theo.

“Are you blind?” She yelled at him before staring at the person.
“Theo?” She called out.

“Barbie? Woah! I never knew you lived here”

“Get out! Dumba**!” She yelled and shoved him out of the way. She went out of the house and entered into the car.

“Annoying brats everywhere!” She murmured and drove off.

Barbie walked to the counter and dropped her car key. She sat with another lady who was trying to get herself drunk.

“What can I offer you?” The bar attendant asked.

“Americano” she said.

“I’ll be back ma’am” he said and left.

“I wonder what a celebrity is doing here in a club”
She heard the other lady say.

Barbie stared at her.
“Why do you say that? Are celebrities restricted from entering the club?” She asked.

“Oh no, I didn’t say that. What’s your problem?” She asked.

Barbie understood what she was saying. She was just asking what she wanted to clear her mind of by drinking.

“Well, I got sIapped by my brother because of a stupid lady” she said.

“Ouch… That’s painful. I resigned from my job just because of a lady” she replied, smiling with pain.

“I so much hate that girl. The first day I met her at Paris, it’s was like… Argh”

The other lady laughed.
“Well, even if Erica and I grew up together, there’s no way I’m gonna like her for anything”

“Erica? Did you just say Erica? We both hate a girl called Erica. Girls names Erica are annoying” Barbie said and gave a soft chuckle.

“I know right… Wait, where does this your Erica stays?” Olivia asked, wanting to know if it was the same Erica.

“I have no idea where that bch lives but she my brother’s assistant”

“Wait! Erica Bruno! That’s the same girl I hate. She works in Greg’s company, your brother Calvin Greg”

“Yes, she’s the one. Oh my gosh, you know her” Barbie shot her eyes wide open.

“Yes, I do know her” Olivia smirked, having a plan in her head.
