Chapter Thirty Two

Erica was on her way to Kelvin’s office to give him his shirt.

Calvin quickly stopped her.
“Oh, here you are. I’ve been looking for you everywhere. You have to follow me to Eve company, I need to sign a contract”

“I have to return this shirt…”

“Hey!” He called one of his employees and handed the shirt to her.

“Take it to my brother”

Immediately she heard that, she shook with fear.
“You mean, Kelvin’s office?” She asked softly.

“Do I have another brother?” He furrowed her eyebrows.

“Sure sir” she said and summoned courage. She turned and left.

“Come on, let’s go” he grabbed her hand and they left the company.

Kelvin stood bare chested in his office. He heard a soft knock on the door.

“Come in” he said softly.

He frowned when he saw that it wasn’t Erica.
“Your brother asked me to bring this shirt to you” she said and lowered her gaze, secretly blushing.

“Where is Erica?” He asked.

“She left with your brother” she replied.

He angrily walked towards her and collected the shirt.
“You may leave”

She bowed and quickly left.

Calvin got to the company and signed.
He shook hands with the CEO and left the company.

On their way back to the office, Calvin and Erica chatted all the way.

“You haven’t touched the money I gave you. Why?”

She coughed out a soft laugh.
“I will touch it on my birthday. It’s just me and Ava, and also my brother”

“So, I’m exempted?” He asked.

“No, no. I didn’t say you weren’t. I’m not throwing a party. I’m not a party type” she replied.

“But you are a club type, huh?”

“Are you teasing me?”

“Do I look like I am?” He asked in reply, with a mocking smile on his face.

“Ah jeez!” She murmured and looked out of the window.

After some hours, everyone started leaving the office.
It was Erica’s birthday tomorrow. She couldn’t wait to see what would happen on her birthday.

They all walked to the car, ready to enter.
“Argh, I will be right back” Calvin said and entered into the company.

Erica held her bag and turned to face Kelvin. He was looking a little bit furious.
She didn’t care, so she looked away from him.

Kelvin saw that she didn’t want to stare at him. He scoffed and entered into his car.

“See you tomorrow at work. You can leave early because it’s your birthday” he said.

Erica nodded and walked away. Calvin watched as she walked away before entering the car.

“Let’s go!” He ordered the driver and they left.

Erica went to check on Ava at the Cafe but she was told that she left early.
She decided to go home but Ava was still no where to be found.

“Where could she be?” Erica murmured.

“I never expected to see you here Ava?”

“I never expected to see you around Dylan” she said with anger in her tone.

“Come on sweetheart….”

“Don’t you dare call me that. I’m not your sweetheart, okay?” She yelled at him.

“Calm down, relax. You are at my house, so relax. Make yourself feel comfortable”

“Look Dylan, I’m not here to sit or relax. Stay away from Erica!”

“Why? Is it because you don’t want her to find out what happened that night huh?” Dylan asked in a soft and seductive tone as he touched her hair.

Ava heard what he said and became a little bit worried. That was the only one secret she kept from Erica and it’s between she and Dylan.

“What night?” She pretended to ask.

“Do you need any explanation? I know you are pretending not to remember bch”

Ava shook what he said away from her head and said what she came her for.
“I don’t want to listen to your nonsense. Stay away from Erica, she doesn’t deserve you” she yelled at Dylan again.

Dylan smirked. He was pouring some alcohol into a glass cup. He sipped from it and stared at Ava.

“I see you know about our plan”

“Yes I know. And I know very well that you will lose!” She said.

“Then it’s game on. I’m gonna go deeper into this just because of you”

“Are you trying to get Erica back?”

“I wouldn’t want her back. She’s too boring. I wonder how those billionaires are going cope with such boring vessels” he said and yawned to show how boring Erica was.

Ava shook her head and left the house. She was speechless and scared. She was scared that Dylan would expose her little secret and they may end up hurting Erica. She became speechless after he talked about the other night. She sighed and increased her pace.

Ava entered into the house and saw Erica pacing about.
Immediately she saw Ava, she heaved a sigh of relief.
“You got me worried!”

“I’m sorry. I needed to take care of sometimes. You know it’s your day tomorrow”

“Oh please, I’m just going to celebrate the day like I always do. Just you, me and Olivia but I think we’ll be having some extra guests” Erica gave a soft chuckle.

Ava watched her friend as she laughed. She was looking so happy. How she wished she knew that Olivia had something plan for her, that smile would become a frown.

“I’m tired now. I’ll go rest and make dinner”

“Well, I’ve done that already. Just waiting for you to eat with me”

“What about George? Where is he?” Ava asked.

“He went with the detective to my grandparents place. They wanted to interrogate them about the case” she said and folded her arms.

“He so much wants to find out who the real culprit is” Ava shook her head and walked away.

Erica also wanted to find out who the real culprit was. She wants to find him and punch him on his face one hundred times but what different does it makes. It won’t bring her parents back to life.

Erica was fast asleep when she heard her phone ringing. She thought it was morning already. She sat up and stretched her body.

“Who’s that id!ot?” She murmured and grabbed the phone.

She saw that it was Calvin. She shot her eyes wide open. She just called her boss an id!ot.
She quickly answered the call and placed the phone on her ear.

“Hello…”

“Happy birthday to you… Happy birthday to you…”

She can’t believe that Calvin would sing for her. It was really ¢razy hearing his voice, it was beautifully ¢rap.

“…hapoh. birthday to.. you!” He concluded.

“Thank you so much sir”

“Did you just call me sir?” He frowned.

“I mean… Cal..Vin” she called his name.

“Nice. Well, I wanted to tell you to go to the company at once. I would meet you there”

“Yes s.. Calvin” she replied softly. He noticed it and gave a soft laugh.

“See you in the morning” he said and disconnected the call.

Erica smiled. Calvin was the first person to wish her a happy birthday today.

As she cheered inside, her phone rang again. It was an unknown number.
She picked it up and placed it on her ear.

“Hello”

“Hey sweetie”

She frowned when she heard Dylan’s voice. She sat up quickly and switched on the lamp on her table.

“Why are you calling me Dylan?” She asked with anger in her voice.

“What? Can’t I call my girlfriend again?” He asked.

Erica gave a soft chuckle.
“You are a player id!ot. You are saying the impossible. I’m not your girlfriend or whatever. We never shared any bond or anything”

“Don’t forget that we never broke up. We just got separated, so we are still dating okay?”

“It’s no use talking to you” she said and disconnected the call.

“Arghh… Why do I have to talk to this d!mwit on my birthday?” She groaned.

Her phone rang again. She knew it was Dylan. She angrily picked the call.

“What do you want?!!” She yelled.

“To wish you a happy birthday?” The person at the other end of the line said softly.
She realized that it was Kelvin’s voice.

She checked the number and saw that it wasn’t saved. Yeah, why would she have his number.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know it was you” she said.

“It’s okay. I’ve been trying to call you since twelve but seem like your line was busy” he said.

“Oh yeah, I had some calls from other people” she said.

“I see. Well, Happy birthday to you” he said again.

“Thank you” she replied and rolled her eyes.

“I guess it’s goodbye”

“Yeah, bye” she said and disconnected the call. She threw her to the bed and laid down again. She was really angry because Dylan called her.

She slept off after thinking for some minutes. She can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow.

“Wake up!!! It’s your birthday!!!” Ava yelled as she jumped on Erica’s bed.

Erica sat up and stared at her friend.
“Oh Ava, stop behaving childish already” she rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand.

“Come on, it’s your birthday. We are going to have a lot of fun today, eat a lot of cakes, and go to the club. Yay!” Ava cheered.

“Jeez!” Erica stood up from the bed and went to have her bath.

She came out and saw Ava still in her room.
“Guess who called me?” She said as she applied her body lotion.

“Hmmm, your boss?” Ava replied without certainty.

“Yeah, he did call me. But someone else did!” Erica said and went to her wardrobe.

“His brother?” She replied again.

Erica rolled her eyes. She forgot that Ava was a bad guesser.
“It was Dylan, okay! Dylan called me”

Ava heard his name and started panting hard. She hoped he didn’t tell her anything.
“What did he say?”

“First of all, that id!ot called me sweetie. Can you imagine that?”

Ava heaved a breath of relief.
“Thank goodness” she murmured.

“Just stay away from him. You are taken already” she said.

Erica laughed.
“By who?”

“Calvin of course…”

“Oh no, there’s nothing between us. He’s just my boss” she said.

“Yeah, your boss you likes you and gave you over three billion dollars after eating a full meal. Dmn girl, I’m jealous”

Erica shook her head. Then her phone rang.
She picked it up and stared at Ava.

Ava gave her a questioning look.
“Who is that?”

“It’s… Calvin” she murmured.
Ava hid a mocking laugh.
