Chapter Thirty Eight

Erica didn’t hear anything from the background again. Her phone dropped from her head.

“What’s happening?” She murmured.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
She hopped towards the door and threw it open.

“Are you okay? I heard you screaming” he said.

Erica stared at him and saw him holding a gift. But that wasn’t her problem.

“It’s Ava. She was attacked by someone” she said.

“Ava? How?” He asked.

“I don’t know. I have no idea. I was in a call with her and she started yelling at someone” Erica said grabbing his arm.

“I’ll go check” he said, wanting to turn but Erica pulled his arm back, not letting go of it.

“Let me come with you” she said.

“You can’t. Just stay here and don’t come out” he said and left.

Erica hopped back to the bed and kept on trying to call Ava.
“Pick up, just answer the call already” she murmured as she sat on the bed.

She didn’t pick up. Erica kept on trying to call Ava.
“Argh!” She groaned and threw her phone on the bed.

Casper was driving home. He was on a call with George.

“Is Ava home?” He asked.

“No, she isn’t” he replied.

“Erica said she has been attacked and I’m sure it’s close to the house”

“I’ll be out soon!” George quickly said and left the house. He left what he was doing and ran out of the house.

Calvin drove pass a sharp corner and pulled over.
He alight from the car and walked towards the corner.

He was hearing some noise as he walked towards the dark area.

“Are you deaf?!”

“What do you want from me j.erk?!” Ava yelled at the man that attacked her. He had sI.apped her and hurt some part of her body.

Ava just sat quietly on the cold floor. She could see her phone distanced from them. She could see the light coming up.

“How dare you call me je.rk?!” He yelled and raised his hand to h!t her again.

But someone caught his hands before he did.
“How dare you touch her?” George asked and h!t him hard on the face. He fell to the floor and groaned in pain.

Calvin walked pass them and helped Ava.
“Come with me” he said and carried her up. She leaped as she walked to his car. She didn’t forget to take her phone and bag.

He took her to the car and came back after some seconds.
“I will call the inspector now” he said and grabbed his phone.

George kicked the man’s bvtt.
When he heard the word ‘inspector’ he sprung up and ran away.

“He’s running away!” Calvin yelled.

George ran after him, trying to grab him but he was more faster.
He ran away before he could reach him.

“Why did you let him go?” Calvin asked.

“I didn’t. He was too fast. Where is Ava?” He asked.

“She’s in the car” he said. They both ran to the car and saw Ava crying. She was looking very scared.

“It’s okay Ava” Calvin said touching her head, trying to calm her.

“Did he touch you?” George asked.
She shook her head.

“He.. he just wanted to kll me. He was with a knlfe” she stammered. She was really scared, one could tell with the tone in her voice.

“It’s okay. I’ll take you home now” Calvin said and they all entered into the car and drove off.

Calvin got into the house. Erica rushed to him with Tee behind her.
“Did you find her?” She asked.

“Erica. I told you not to worry too much. She is fine” he replied.

Erica sighed and leaned back on her wheelchair.
“Thank goodness. Then what happened?” She asked.

“She got attacked” he said.

“Someone tried to rappe her?” She furrowed her eyebrows.

“No, he tried to kll her”

“Then he is the one. He has strike again. He really wants to kll everyone around me. If I just close the case, maybe he’ll stop”

Calvin squatted in front of her.
“You have to get justice for your parents murderer. I’ll send some bodyguards to watch over Ava and George” he said.

“Thank you sir”

“Really?” He frowned.

“I mean Calvin” she smiled.

“Let me take you to your room” he said and they left.

Josh was in the station with the paper that the culprit sent to Erica.
He remembered touching her laps, the thought of it made him ¢razy.

His lips curved into a smile. He dropped the paper and left to the prison.

He went to see Winnie. She was having her dinner.

“Hello Winnie!” He said as he grabbed a chair.

She dropped what she was eating and looked away.
“What do you want detective?” She asked, showing an uninterested expression.

“I want to ask some questions about…”

“Like I said, I didn’t kll my fking sister”

“No, it’s not about your sister” he quickly added.

Winnie looked relief. She continued eating her meal.
“Then who?” She asked.

“Her daughter, Erica”

Winnie stopped eating and faced Josh.
“Why do you want to know more about her?” She asked, wearing a questioning look.

“I just… It’s part of the case” he lied.

“If you want me to tell you about her, you have to take me out of jail”

“You haven’t done anything wrong except illegally selling your niece’s properties and Calvin doesn’t want you out of here”

“It’s your problem. If you want me to talk, you have take me out of here” she said and get back to her food.

“I’ll talk to Calvin about it. He had also asked me to make you collect all of her properties and sign it legally for Erica”

“Well I can’t do all of that sh!t while I’m here. I have to leave here and I promise to get her properties back” she said.

“Fine then. I’ll talk to you about it”

“But first… You need to look for someone” she said.

Josh squeezed his face.
“And who is that?”

“Mr Bruno’s lawyer. We sold the properties together” she said.

“What is his name?”

Erica was woken up by the doctor. She didn’t know that she had slept a lot, she realized that it was because of the drugs she took last night.

“Move it slowly to the left” the doctor said as he placed his hand on her ankle.
Erica slowly moved it and winced.

“Do you feel any pain?” He asked.

“Yeah, but it’s a little” she replied.

“Now, move it to the left” he said.
She moved it slowly to the left and m®aned in pain.

“Ah!”

“You feel the pain?” He asked.

“Yeah, that’s much” she replied and chuckled.

The doctor wrote down the report and replaced her wheelchair with crutches.
“I hope you learn how to use that”

“I’ve used it once. When I was five” she said.

“It would be easy for you then. Make sure to take your medication and eat a lot of protein and calcium”

“Yes sir” she nodded.

“Thank you doctor” Calvin said and excorted him out of the room.

Ava quickly entered..as she saw Erica, she broke into hot tears.
Erica turned her head and saw Ava crying also. She started crying.

“Oh Erica”

“Ava!”

They drew closer to each other and started crying on each other arms.

“It happened too sudden. I was on a call with you and the next thing he appeared from no where wanting to attack me” she murmured.
“No one knows about that short cut apart from us. Then who must that be?” Ava added.

Erica sighed.
“It’s the culprit. He just wants to kll everyone of us. He feels like we are close to catching him but he’s way to smart” she said.

“Super smart. But I’m sure we are so going to catch him soon” Ava said and sniffed in. She just finish crying with Erica for ten minutes.

“I miss Olivia you know”

“Yeah, me too. But I don’t think she misses us” Ava replied and rolled her eyes.

“Now that I can walk around myself, let me show you around. There’s a pool in the mansion, can you believe that?”

“Well, I’ll believe it when I see it” Ava said and helped her with the crutches.
Erica took it and head out of the room.

Olivia was in front of Dylan’s door, pushing the door bell.
He opened the door with anger.

“What do you want Olivia?!” He yelled.

“Relax Dylan. I’m just here to check on you. You weren’t picking my calls. Barbie quit and I was wondering if you did the same as well” she said as she walked into the house.

Dylan pushed her back to the door.
“Yeah, I quit too” he said.

“What? You can’t just quit. I know from the start that you are a bI.oody loser”

“Call me whatever you want to but I don’t ever want to hear that b!tches name in my house!”

“You mean Erica?”

He quickly grabbed her ne¢k, ¢hoking her.
“Are you deaf or something? I just said I don’t want to here her name!” He said and threw her away.

“Why are you suddenly acting like this?” She tried to be calm.

Dylan exhaled.
“I got humiliated by her and her stupid friend, Ava”

“So? How does that bother you?”

“Can you believe they called this tiny? Like what the..” Dylan almost yelled as he grabbed his short.

Olivia smirked, slowly making her way into the house.

“Is that so? But is it tiny?” She asked, moving towards him.

“No, no it’s not!” He yelled, trying to defend himself.

“Then, let me see it. I’ll be able to determine if it’s tiny or not” she said and wrapped her hands around his shoulder.

Dylan smirked, giving her a go ahead look.
Olivia slipped her hand down his chest and reached for his short. She dipped her hand inside and grabbed whatever thing that was in there.

Dylan furrowed his eyebrows.
“So?”

Olivia shot her eyes wide open as she kept on touching it, stroking it hard.
“It’s just as I expected. Huge” she winked.

Dylan loved the sound of that.
He was surprised when she pulled down his short and knelt down before him.

“What are you doing Olivia?”

“What I was born to do id!ot!” She replied and stuffed his thing into her mouth.
