Chapter 33

BRITTANY’S POV

“You seem to be in a good mood today” Andy whispered to me during our first class.

“Just shut up and listen to the lecturer” I said to him.

“Okay ma’am” he said.

Hayden’s mom isn’t so harsh after all. Turns out she was really fun to be with. Our gists were cut off as I needed to come to school.

While coming to school, I couldn’t stop thinking about her words and how jovial she really is.

My face was brightened up and it was so obvious even Andy noticed it.

The first class ended and Andy faced me.

“Care to tell me why you are in a good mood?”

“So I’m always moody”

“No, that isn’t what I mean. You just look different today” he said.

“Yes, that’s true” Brenda chipped in joining the conversation.

“Guys!” I gave them a look.

“Why do I feel like you have a boyfriend and you aren’t telling us” Brenda said.

“Do you?” Andy asked his expression changing.

“I don’t. I’m married actually” I said in my mind.

“I don’t, you guys!” I said instead eyeing them.

“Just stating my observation” Brenda defended.

“So are you going to the party?” Andy asked.

“I’m not sure”

“But we talked about this” Brenda pouted.

“And I never said yes” I Said.

“Yeah yeah. Andy you are going to right?”

I looked at her. I thought she said she was going to ask him to go with her. I guess she haven’t asked after all.

“Of course. I was hoping Brittany would go with me” he said.

Brenda smiling face changed to an angry one. “Wait what?”

“Yeah. Would you, Brit?”

“No, she won’t. She isn’t going to the party”

I looked at her. “When did I say that?”

She looked at Andy and then held my hand and dragged me out of the classroom.

“What now?” I asked with a bored look.

“I want to go with Andy.”

“Okay. Tell him” I simply said.

“But he wants to go with you”

“Then I won’t go”

“But I want you to come” she pouted.

“Just make a decision” I rolled my eyes.

“Okay, tell him someone asked you already and you said yes”

“Okay…?”

“And we would look for a guy you would go with”

“Okay. I haven’t agreed on going tho”

“Oh you will” She said and I just rolled my eyes.

She obviously likes Andy but I won’t say anything about it nor ask her.

We went back to the classroom and Andy was on his phone.

Brenda gave me a look of “tell him”

“So Andy, why don’t you go with Brenda instead. You were late in asking me. A guy already did. So…oh the lecturer is here” I said not giving him the chance to talk.

We all settled down for the second lecture as the lecturer proceeded to start teaching. I looked at Brenda and gave her a thumbs up.

After the class, Brenda and I stayed back in the classroom while Andy left the classroom to get something.

Brenda was showing me pictures of guys in the school.

“How about this?” She asked.

“No. He is shorter than me” I answered blankly.

“This?”

“He is too tall”

“This?”

“I don’t like his hair”

“How about this?”

“He looks feminine”

“This?”

“He’s …okay, he is perfect” I said as I couldn’t find anything to say about him and Brenda who has a tired look heaved a sign of relief.

“His name is frank. 100 level. Public administration number. Will just forward his number to you and you would chat him up” she said.

She sent it and I searched for it on Whatsapp only to discover he’s one of the guys that messaged me yesterday.

“Perfect!” Brenda said.

“So You succeeded in making me agree to go to the party” I sighed.

“Yeah. I’m good” she flips her hair.

“Now the dress. What are you wearing?” She asked.

“Probably a trouser and a ….”

Brenda stopped me and gave me a boring look.

“It’s a party”

“Are trousers forbidden in parties”

“Oh Common, you would look hotter in a dress. Don’t worry, I have a friend that sells sxy dresses online. Will order the same thing for the both of Us. You just need to transfer money to me”

“Yeah Whatever” I simply said.

Later that night,

Hayden, I and his mom are at the dining having dinner. My mind was at the party. I didn’t want to do but Brenda and the students hyping it made me have interest in it.

Going out wouldn’t be so hard. I can just say I’m going for night class but Jacob will be driving me and be would definitely tell Hayden where I went to.

Will just call Brenda. She would know what I can do.

“But can’t you just tell him you are going to a party. He won’t bite, you know?” My sub conscious told him. It would be better not to tell him.

After dinner which was fun, we went to our respectively bedrooms as his mom said she is feeling sleepy.

I texted Brenda immediately I got to the bedroom but lied and said it’s my parent’s driver instead.

She told me what to do and I nodded, agreeing.

Hayden and I didn’t really communicate this night but we are on good terms.

The next day, I had just one class and I went home afterwards.

His mom and I had a nice time together watching movies and after that, she asked for our wedding pictures.

I went to take it and she had a smile on her face as she checks them.

“He looks happy” she said staring at the picture we took together.

“Yeah” I admitted as my heart skipped just staring at his pictures.

(FRIDAY)

I came back from school in the afternoon. Hayden have gone to work while I was in the living room watching a movie and also on my phone at the same time.

Hayden’s mom is in her room sleeping.

I had lunch and went to the bed room for a nap. I woke up 4:30 pm. Had a shower and put on a jean trouser and pink top.

I carried my bag and wore my slippers and left the room. Hayden’s mom haven’t woken up thankfully.

I called Jacob when I got outside and he opened the car’s door for me.

“Take me to school” I told him and he nodded and entered the driver’s seat.

The car drove out of the compound and I brought out my phone and texted Brenda.

We got to the school after 5 and I alighted from the car and entered the school.

Brenda, Andy and the frank were already waiting. He doesn’t look bad.

Frank has a sport’s car and that’s what we are taking to the party.

The school has three gates. Frank already packed his car at the second gate.

I can’t tell Jacob to take me to the party so Brenda brought the idea. I will make Jacob take me to school and we would go to the party passing the second gate.
It was a good plan, I must confess.

We walked to the second gate and entered Frank’s car.

When we left the school’s premises, Frank and Andy left the car so as we can change in the car.

Brenda brought out the dress she got.

We both wore it and it’s really short and tight.

We got out from the car and Andy’s jaw dropped on seeing me.

Brenda seems to notice Andy was staring at me and not her .

“Let’s go” She said angrily entering the car.

Andy looked confused while I Just shrugged.

We all entered the car again and Frank started driving.

Andy was seated closed to the car door, I was seated next to him and Brenda was seated beside me leaving me in the middle while Frank was driving.

I felt Andy’s hand on my lap and I looked at him, alarmed. He gave me an apologetic look and removed his hand.

I looked beside me and Brenda’s attention was on her phone.

It’s probably a mistake, I told myself.

I brought out my phone and checked my face in my phone’s camera.

I don’t why but I don’t feel too good about this party anymore.
