Chapter 16
I looked up at him and realized he kinda looked worried.
“What’s wrong?” I asked him.
“Nothing I’m fine, why do you ask”
“Cause you look worried” I replied.
“I’m good, I’m OK”
“Daaaave?” I called him and he giggled.
“Its nothing to worry about, I’m just a little concerned about our parents, I wonder how they are feeling right now” he complained.
“He really should have let you guys go, I mean this is my cross and nobody deserves to be t©rtured cause of me” I mumbled.
“It’s fine, we are here now, so let’s just hope we will find whatever it we are looking for, OK” he pasted my cheeks and i nodded, he smiled at me and I smiled back.
“We are here” Salvador announced. We all got out of the bus and behold a huge jungle facing us, I began having goosebumps.
“No, no, no, no, I’m not going in there, there’s no fvcking way I’m gonna go in there” Kira cried out.
“Hey, hey babe, it’s gonna he fine, I promise I’ll protect you, OK” Michael assured her and she nodded but still looked a little scared, she hugged him tightly.
“God of America” Kiwi blurted out as she stared at what was facing her.
“OK, this Is no longer funny mehn” Bathny complained as she slapped her left leg to probably kill a bug.
“Please don’t tell me that was a mosquito” Henry asked her.
“What do you care?” Bathny asked back.
“Cause I hate those tiny vampires” He replied.
“Who loves them?” Ruby asked him.
“Maybe you do, but I certainly don’t” he replied.
“OK, less talking, more walking, let’s go people” Salvador commanded as he walked into the jungle, I saw a wooden old sign which has “Kuluvanda mountain this way” carved on it.
“Hey this my sign is still here, I put this sign 17 years ago” the camper driver stated as he touched the sign.
We all joined Salvador at the entrance.
“Hey, look” the driver called us to a tree.
“What is it?” Salvador asked him.
“Clara really did come back here, that woman is crazy” the driver said as he tore an old scarf off the oak tree.
“Hey, my mum is not crazy, accord her with respect” I fired at him.
“You are clara’s kid?” He asked. He has an American accent, guess he’s American.
“Yes, and what’s with the dirty scarf?” Salvador asked.
“When we first came here years ago, clara had this idea of tying red scarvs on the trees so that we will be able to find our way back, but your brother didnt buy it, so we didnt”
“But now the scarf is here, which meand…” Bathny started, she turned to look at me and I realized what she was driving at.
“My mum tied that scarf” i stated and took the scarf.
“But it looks dirty and tattered, which means its been here for long” Kira stated.
“That’s true, that’s because its been here for two years” Michael said.
“What if she’s already out of the jungle?” Kiwi asked.
“If she was, she would have removed the scarf” the driver replied.
“What if something has happened to her and the husband?” One of Salvador’s men asked and I felt like knocking him out.
“Only one way to find out, if this scarf stops on a tree and we are not yet at the ancient temple, then that means something happened to them but if it didnt, lucky her, this will be fun, come on children” he walked out.
“How can he find it funny that something might have happened to my mum, my parents actually?” I cried out.
“Don’t worry we will find them” Dave assured me. He took my hand and we joined the rest in exploring the jungle.
“There is nothing fun about any of this” Ruby complained.
As well got deeper into the jungle, bugs were already feasting on us, the squeaky trees made it seem as if we are acting a horror movie and the cobwebs, disgusting.
“Aaaaaahhhhh, oh my gush, snake” Kira cried out as she stared by her left.
“It’s just a tree branch, Kira can you not be dramatic for once” Bathny fired at her.
“She wasn’t lying, there’s a python over there” Michael screamed and pointed by the left.
“Ruuuuuuun” Henry shouted when we finally noticed the big python, as if he was targeting us before, the python started jumping from tree to tree, it finally landed on the ground and started chasing us, I went rigid and froze on my spot.
“Marichuiy come on” David dragged me and I finally got my leg and began to run.
“It’s behind me, it’s behind me, help!!!” We turned and saw kiwi and before we could say jack, she fell face flat.
“Kiwi get up” Dave screamed at her, but it was too late, the python was already hovering over her.
“I’m gonna go get her” Ruby stated.
“Are you insane, you won’t make it Ruby” Kira screamed at him.
“We can’t just leave her” Dave backed up.
“Let’s find another way” Kira shouted.
“Help me, please” Kiwi cried as the python curled around her.
It opened its mouth to take her in hut we heard a gun shot and the python fell down like a thousand yards of fabric, Kiwi ran as fast as she could, I rushed to her and helped her up.
“You had a gun all this while and you didn’t think you should fire it sooner” Bathny yelled at Salvador whom I realized now was the one who shot the python.
“I forgot, let’s go” he shrugged and walked out.
“This man is a devil” Ruby grumbled.
“Hey Marichuiy what if that python killed your mum?” Kira asked me.
“You are an idi©t” I fired at her.
