This is Us is a drama series of 6 seasons which aired its Season Finale some months ago in 2022.
This Is Us – an American family drama television series that aired on NBC from September 20, 2016 to May 24, 2022.
The series follows the lives and families of two parents, and their 3 children, in several different time frames. It stars an ensemble cast featuring Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan, Ron Cephas Jones, Jon Huertas, Alexandra Breckenridge, Niles Fitch, Logan Shroyer, Hannah Zeile, Mackenzie Hancsicsak, Parker Bates, Eris Baker, Faithe Herman, Lonnie Chavis, Melanie Liburd, Lyric Ross, Asante Blackk, Griffin Dunne, Caitlin Thompson and Chris Geere. This Is Us was filmed in Los Angeles.
In September 2016, NBC picked up the series for a full season of 18 episodes. In January 2017, NBC renewed the series for two additional seasons of 18 episodes each, and then in May 2019, renewed if for a further three seasons. In May 2021, it was announced that the sixth would be its final season, which premiered on January 4, 2022.

Chris Sullivan is an American actor and musician. He stars on the NBC drama. This Is Us, for which he received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

Some of those things that make this ‘This Is Us’ Drama Series so popular is the imperfection of the characters on the show, it is just plain relatable to everyone. All the characters messed up and no one is perfect which makes the show believable.
Mandy Moore who plays as Rebecca is selfish and lied to William, and she does not say nice things to Jack. Jack on the other hand just drinks too much while Kevin is a self-absorbed person who is also very needy. Kath can also be a hot mess while Toby is a jerk. Everyone seems to have their own flaws which make the viewers empathetic to the characters. Obviously no one is perfect, and the series perfectly shows that it is okay to have flaws.
The show has a total average viewing audience of 5.7 million people per episode in its current season. This makes it the fourth most watched scripted series by total viewers, behind the three Chicago shows (Med, Fire and PD).
The show depicts a great example of real life parenthood. It is the first show in a long time which nails what it’s really like being a parent, a child and sibling. The dialogues between the characters are the perfect example how things really happen in real life. The show has the perfect combination of witty, flawed, emotionally convicting and self-deprecating characters of the show.
Everyone seems to agree the entire time every time the characters talk. Some series show parenthood on TV which seemed to be so different on the real life happening.
The show is going out on a high ratings-wise. Per TV Series Finale, the show is the most watched scripted show on NBC among the 18-to-49 demographic, key to primetime advertisers. It is the only scripted show on the network to get more than a 1 rating among the demographic, meaning that one percent of all TV viewers in that demographic watch the show.
For Fogelman, it’s simple: Ending with Season 6 was his intention when the show started in 2016. He says moving forward with Season 7 and beyond could jeopardize the quality and integrity of the series.
“It’s not because we don’t have any more story to tell,” he said at the TCA event. “It’s because we exactly planned it to go this way. And so we’re on a five?year path, and to suddenly pivot and add more because we don’t want it to end, it wouldn’t be quite responsible to the show and what we have planned, and it would start becoming something else,” he said.
Fogelman also revealed to The Hollywood Reporterthat he first visualized the series finale during Season 1, and he hasn’t changed it in the years since. “My hope would be that there’s a positive and optimistic message for the show, in trying to put something positive into the world at a difficult time that would hopefully make people feel something,” he said. “And, hopefully, the thing they feel isn’t just sadness or ugliness, but it’s also kind of beautiful and quiet. That’s my hope for the end of it. Whether we get there or not won’t be for us to judge. But that’s the goal.”
