Episode 23
Clara’s pov
“Dalton, I am ready”, I said entering the living room with my phone in my hands.
He stood up from the sofa and I walked to him with a smile on my face.
Today we are going to meet his grand father. It’s been two days since we came back.
He was quiet shocked when I asked him to to that, but he eventually agreed.
“You look beautiful like always”. He placed a peck on my cheek while saying and I grinned back at him.
“Let’s go”, I said taking his hand and pulling him to the lift. Even though my parents came back to the city, I am still living with him.
He insisted that I stay with him in his house. I didn’t have any option but to agree as he talked to my mother about it.
The lift doors opened and we entered in. I pressed the ground floor button and the lift started.
Once the lift stopped with a ding and the doors opened, we walked out of the lift and to his car.
He opened the car door for me and I sat in saying a thank you.
He came and sat beside me in the driver’s seat.
Soon we are in the traffic of the city.
“I still hope that you will change your mind about your job.
My offer is still open”, he said and I looked at him smiling and shook my head.
“No. I don’t want to”, I declined. Since we came back, I kept searching for others jobs.
He didn’t like it one bit that I am going to work somewhere not near him.
Since he fired me and now I can’t work for him as his assistant, he offered me a job as his cook.
In that way, I have to stay with him all day and I can have my job and he said we can have our relationship too.
“But, it’s a very good and easy way. I will have you to myself.
Don’t worry about cooking though, I will adjust if my cook can’t make food tastely as long as I can have her with me”, he said looking at me and I blushed.
“You will not a have a new cook. That too not me”.
“But why? No one will even point a finger at you and we can do all the r®mance whenever we want with no one disturbing”, he pointed out and I am sure my face is scarlet red now.
R®mance .
“Dalton?!”.
“Okay. Then I will get some other cook who will agree to all my demands”, he teased and my head whipped to him.
He stopped the car near the signals as it is red signal now.
“No. You will not”, I said looking at him.
“Try me”, he smirked arrogantly. I fisted his collar and pulled him to me that our noses are touching.
“Okay then, I will take the job that Jones offered me two days back”, I whispered and pulled away. Now I have a smug look on my face.
His face is furious now. He turned back to the road and started the car as the signal changed to green.
“Okay”, he agreed and I looked at him in shock.
Did he just agree to let me do a job in Jones company? He hated it when I told him.
“What really?”, I asked him curiously.
“Yes.
But remember this, then I will buy his company in just a day and then you will have to become my assistant again and this time,
I will not fire you”, he said with a smirk still etching his face.
“No, you can’t do that”, I whispered. He can’t actually buy Jones company. Can he? Oh, he is a Beast! He will do! Who knows?
“You know me. It’s easy”, he said still looking at the road while driving. I sighed and sat back in the seat.
There is no way for me to get out of this now. Do I? I shook my head thinking.
“Okay. I will”, I said leaning back and crossed my legs, causing the satin dress to slid up my thighs lightly.
“Okay, you will for what?”, he asked and I turned my head still leaning on the seat and looked at him.
“Okay, I will be your cook”, I agreed. I know he knows what I said refers to, but he wants to hear it from my mouth. Urggh! Men and their ego .
I rolled my eyes and looked out of the window.
We are out of the city and there are many trees along the pathway.
“Where is his house?”, I asked him. He looked at me.
“It’s out of the city. A village near to the city”, he said I nodded my head smiling.
“I love villages. No extra sounds and it’s very pleasant full”, I smiled. He smiled back.
“When did you go to village?”, he asked.
“I go at least once in two years. My grandparents live in the village too”, I told him smiling.
“Really?”, he asked like he can’t believe it. I turned my head to him while relaxing. This feels good. We are having a very normal conversation .
“Yes. I mean they are my father’s side though”, I informed while turning on the music in the car.
A rock song played in the car and I bobbed my head to it. Soon the songs kept changing.
I slid into my seat lightly and closed my eyes while hearing the songs.
Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams started to play.
I felt a hand on my thigh, so knowing who it is, I took it before it slid down and put it back on his lap without opening my eyes.

“Cara, I don’t think we will able to make it there if we keep kssing”, he said looking into my eyes. I blushed looking down.
“Sorry”, I whispered while moving to get out of his lap. But he held me there.
“Why are you saying sorry? We didn’t do anything wrong. You are my girlfriend after all”, he said stressing on girlfriend.
I smiled again. He has been saying that a lot for the past three days while introducing me to everyone as his girlfriend.
“Also you are my boyfriend”, I said pecking his cheek and giggled for some reason. His lips tugged up a little into a small smile but disappeared soon.
“Now just sit here on my lap like this and hold on to me while I drive”, he said while hugging me to him. I pulled away to look at him.
“No Dalton. It’s dangerous. I will sit beside you”, I said trying to pull away. But he held me tightly.
“No. You are sitting here. Anyway, we are almost there”, he said starting the ignition. I yawned and let my head fall on his shoulder.
I opened my eyes and felt the sunlight falling on me. I opened my eyes and put my hand to stop the light.
“Cara, we are here”, I heard him say and looked around to see that we are out of his car and we are standing on someone’s porch.
I came to my senses and slid down him while blushing. I hope no one saw it. It will so embarrassing! Why didn’t he wake me? I would have walked!
“Dalton, you-“, I am cut off by his lips on mine and he soon pulled away. Just in time the front door opened. I looked up at the person and there stood an eighty years old person.
He has grey hair and he has eyes just like Dalton’s. I instantly knew it is his grandfather. He looked at him and a smile formed on his face instantly.
“How are you son?”, he asked while pulling Dalton into a hug, while all Dalton did was stare at him in shock. I smiled, but my smile erased when I saw his expression. I held his hand in support and he entwined his fingers with mine. I pressed his hand assuringly.
“You remember me?”, he asked his grandfather in shock.
“You look just like your mother and how can I not remember you when you are always there on the newspapers”, he asked while looking at him at arm’s length as his hand is on his shoulder. I smiled while looking at them.
Dalton just kept staring at his grandfather. His grandfather turned to me and smiled.
“Who is this beautiful lady with you?”, he asked him and I blushed. Dalton came out of his stance.
“This is my girlfriend Clara”, he introduced and I gave him my hand to shake.
“Oh dear, no handshakes. We are huggers”, he said pulling me into a hug. I hugged him back and we both pulled away.
I grinned at him.
Dalton soon pulled me to him.
“Come in”, he said opening the door wide. I looked up at Dalton and he has a look of lost like he is overthinking. He has a serious expression on his face.
“Martin, don’t over think this. Everything will be fine. Trust me. I am here”, I assured him and he leaned down and pecked my forehead.
“That is why I stood strong”, he said and I grinned at his words. That is what I want to be.
I want to be his strength. We both walked inside.
