CHAPTER 47

“Don’t look at me, you should know by now what a stubborn wife you have” Layla said

Zane sighed again, he knew Annalise was really stubborn

“Luckily it’s lunch time already so Cindy will buy takeout for you two”

“No I want to go to the cafeteria, I heard you have one” Annalise said

“Are you sure you want to?” Zane asked looking at Layla while Annalise nodded vigorously

Layla understood the meaning of the look

“I’ll take care of her” Layla said and he nodded and placed the office telephone on his ear

“Come in” he said, immediately the door opened and Cindy came in

“Have you had lunch yet?” Zane asked

“No sir, I was about to” Cindy replied

“Take them with you to the cafeteria” he said referring to Annalise and Layla

“Alright sir” Cindy nodded and left with Annalise and Layla while Zane resumes his work.

“Wow, it’s even bigger and more crowded than I had expected” Annalise squealed looking around the crowded cafeteria

“And it’s beautiful, your hubby’s got eyes” Layla winked at Annalise whose cheeks flushed

“I want to make friends” Annalise immediately said with bright eyes, but Layla held her shaking her head

“You’re the CEO’s wife, you can’t be seen running around like a child” Layla said, Annalise nodded reluctantly

Cindy chuckled softly at their behaviors, they were so cute

Cindy got them a spot to sit and took their orders, their meals arrived and Annalise was ready to dig into the appetizing meal when…

“Can I sit here please?” Someone said, they all looked up to find Frenchie looking at them, she had a tray of meal with her

“Off-course, there’s enough space, if that’s okay with you?” Annalise asked Cindy who immediately nodded

“It’s okay ma’am, I’m okay with it”

“You can sit” Layla said to Frenchie

“Thank you ma’am” Frenchie said sitting

“Don’t call me ma’am, my name is Layla and I’m sure you’re older”

“I’m 24” Frenchie said

“We’re 23”

“Also I’m Annalise not ma’am, it’s uncomfortable to be called that” Annalise said and Cindy nodded

“But Miss Layla would do though”

“Do not call her Miss Layla” Annalise warned

“Hey I’m older than you, you should also give me respect you short headache” Layla said

“You’re older with only three months stop using your height as an advantage, that’s bvllying” Annalise yelled

Cindy and Frenchie stared at themselves and laughed

“What?, Are we funny to you two?” Annalise asked angrily

“No Miss Annalise” the two immediately replied, Annalise suddenly smiled

“The Miss sounds pretty nice” she said “I was just joking, you don’t have to be so nervous around us”.
