A LIAR AT THE ALTAR SEASON 2: CHAPTER 31 – The End

Chapter 37

Tristan stepped in on a navy blue two-piece suit, his hair was neatly styled. He was my prince charming, I smiled at him as he walked toward us.

“Hey, ladies.” He gave us his million-dollar smile.

“Hey, I’m leaving. My ride is here.”
Vina said walking to the door with her eyes on her phone.

“My dazzling Queen, ” he placed a peck on my cheek.

“and my beautiful Princess.”
He placed a peck on Kayla’s cheek.

“You both look amazing.”

“You look amazing too.”
I told him adjusting his bow tie with one hand.

“Ready?”

“Yeah.”
He took my hand and we left the room.

“Where is Kayden?”
I asked looking around.

“Where is Kayden?”
I asked looking around.

“He’s with Nora.”

We left for the venue which wasn’t far from the Sanchesters’ mansion. My mom took Kayla from me at the entrance.

We waited outside till the host announced our arrival, the doors opened and all eyes turned to our direction.
The ballroom was decorated with burgundy and gold.

We smiled at everyone as we made our way to our seats, they applauded as we took our seats.

I smiled at Ciara and Darren, she was wearing a dusty pink dress while Darren wore a dark suit.

I saw Vina standing next to a dark-haired guy that had one arm around her waist, Adrian was nowhere to be seen.

The event started smoothly, we went round to greet a few people before the slow dance.

I saw Adrian at the table hidden from the light, he was staring at Vina and her date as he sipped his wine.

Tristan danced with Kayla in his arms while I danced with Kayden who tried to pull my earrings.

We had a toast from Mrs. Sanchester after dancing. I went quickly to speak to Ciara and Darren.

I searched for Vina but didn’t find her, her date didn’t know where she was either.
I needed her to fix my hair, Kayden already ruined it.

I decided to do it myself, I searched for the restroom. The door was locked when I tried to open it, I knocked again getting frustrated with whoever was in there.

The door opened, my eyes flashed wide when I saw Vina. Her ponytail was a mess and she was trying to adjust her dress.

“Chloe?”
She sounded out of breath, I cocked a brow at her.

“Hi, Chloe.”
I heard Adrian’s voice from behind. I noticed the red stain on his lips.

Oh la la

“Hi, Chloe.”
I heard Adrian’s voice’s from behind. I noticed the red stain on his lips.

I stared at them for a while not saying anything. Vina cursed in a low tone and facepalmed herself.

On the other hand Adrian couldn’t contain the smile tugging at his stained lips.

“Umm…I will…”

“Nothing happened.”
Vina said quickly before I could finish what I wanted to say.

I cocked a brow at her with a smirk.

“Seriously, Chloe. Nothing happened, he was only helping me fix my….my..um…my shoe.”
She groaned.

“In the restroom? Hmm…sounds convincing.”

“I need a drink,” Adrian said clearing his throat.

“What’s your favourite, Vixen?”

“Get lost.”
She said not looking at him.

“Well, it was nice helping you with your shoe.”
He whispered close to her ear brushing his lips against her skin. Vina stepped on his foot before I could turn away and give them some privacy.

“You’re driving me home, it’s not a request, Vixen.”
He said wincing at the pain.

I turned to her with a smug look as soon as he was out of sight.

“Don’t.”
She warned before I could say anything.

“Oh come on, what’s the fun in not teasing you about being caught hooking up with Adrian in the ladies’ restroom?”

“I think you just did.”

I shrugged with a smile and followed her into the bathroom.

“Sorry for interrupting.”
I said laying emphasis on the last word.

“Please, Chlo. I don’t wanna talk about it.”
She said opening her purse.

“Is it because of Eric or is it, Benjamin? I forgot his name.”

“No, and his name is Jacob. Drop it already, I made it clear I don’t wanna talk about it,” I smiled at how I was getting under her skin.

“When you’re ready to talk about it, I’m here. At the main time, I need help with my hair, Kayden pulled it.”

“Give me a minute,” She said rubbing her lips with red lipstick

“So how is the party?” She asked as she put her lipstick and eyeliner in the purse.

“Great, everyone looks happy.”

There was a brief silence between us before she said something.

“He followed me here, I came to wash my hands. He looked angry and before I could ask him what he was doing in the ladies’ restroom, he locked the door and the next thing I knew he was kssing me then you showed up.”

“Don’t hate me, I didn’t know.”

“You suck at teasing you know that right?”

“Yup.”

We left the bathroom laughing, we ran into Ciara on our way to the ballroom. Vina left me to search for her date.

“Have you seen Tristan?”

“Yeah, he was carrying a crying Mad…Kayla when I saw him.”
“Are you enjoying the party?” I asked not liking how the atmosphere around us changed.

“Yeah, I never had an engagement party. It’s nice,” I didn’t miss the sadness in her voice.

“But you had a wedding, right?”

“Obviously,” She said with a laugh.

“I will see you later, I need to check on the kids.”

“Okay,” She gave me a small smile and walked away.

Kayla was asleep in Tristan’s arm when I found him.

“The party is almost over, we’ll be on our way,” My mom said from behind me.

“Okay, but you had fun right?”

“Of course, you take good care of yourself and the kids. Goodnight.”
She gave me a warm hug and a peck on the head.

She walked away not saying a word to Tristan. She acted like she didn’t see him.

“I will get the car ready.”
He said before I could say anything.

“Okay, I will get Kayden.”
He gave me a quick kss and left.

Vina’s date stopped me on my way to get Kayden from Nora.

“Hey…umm…”

“Jacob,” He said looking disappointed.

“Jacob, okay.”
I offered him a smile.

“Have you seen Belle, I have not seen her since she left me on the dance floor.”

Belle? That was his own short version of Belvina? Nice.

“Ummm…she left a while ago. She complained about her head and I told her to leave. She actually told me to tell you, but I forgot.

I’m so sorry, she didn’t want to tell you herself cause she felt she was going to ruin the night for you, sorry.”

Vina owed me, big time for this. She told me she was going to speak to him, where did she go then?

“I feel like an idiot. I noticed she wasn’t herself, I should have helped her.”

“Don’t worry about it. She’ll be fine, I will call her and…”

“She’s not answering her phone.”
He cut in.

“Then I guess she’s fast asleep. Did you enjoy the party?”
I changed the topic quickly.

“Yeah, the food was good especially the cake and pie.”

“Glad to hear that, drive home safely, Jacob, and have a lovely night.”
I said to him and walked away.

I found Nora with Kayden who was playing with her earring.

“There you are,” I tickled him before carrying him in my arms.

He giggled and held onto me. I told them we were leaving and met Tristan outside. He smiled at me as I entered the car.

“Hey, little man.”
Tristan ruffled his front hair.

I put Kayden in his booster next to his sister and we hit the road.
