Chapter 37

Korea..

“They should be returning home today.. they planned on just two nights away” Lady Ann said through the phone call

Cathy nodded, taking in a spoonful of watery instant noodles..

“Were you able to watch her movements.. through the tracker you planted in her locket..?” She asked

“Claribel..?”
“Yeah..”
“Unfortunately.. the laptop is faulty and you know I can’t just repair it anywhere.. cuz we don’t know who might be after us.. it’s better you repair it yourself” Ann’s voice sounded lowly

Cathy dropped her fork
“But still… you should have made attempt of repairing it, now we,have no information on what happened to her” she said

“I’m sorry..”
“Fine.. I’ll arrive on wednesday in a new face and details..”

“Oh really.. let’s name you Zara” Ann said with a smile
“Sounds cute” Cathy nodded

“How’s your arm..?” Ann suddenly asked worriedly
“Getting much better.. I was forced to treat it at the hospital yesterday.. the pain was just so excruciating” Cathy replied, staring at the half-rotten arm

“Better..”
“So how do you plan on getting close enough to them to make the protection process easy.. cuz distance could attract attack from our opponents” Ann added

Cathy breathed
“Any vacant job to apply for in the house..?” She gulped down her water

“Hmmph… Oh yeah, one of the maids left for Caledonia yesterday, claiming to see her sick mother, she’s definitely not returning anytime soon and for the main time, we’ll be needing a replacement” Ann explained

Cathy mouthed an “ohh”
“What’s her work..?”
“Cleaning the rooms” Ann replied immediately

Cathy’s face lightened up and she flashed a smile
“Perfect..!! Access to the rooms!” She smiled and Lady Ann did the same

“I know right..”
“Apply for the job as soon as possible, as usual, I’m the one in charge, so all you have to do is to signal to me, so I’ll recognize you cuz of your new face” Ann said

“Of course.. till then sis” Cathy mouthed
“Stay safe”
They ended the call immediately and she heaved a deep sigh
“Lady Mariana.. I promise to fight and avenge your death.. protect your family and daughter, k!ll every attacker and remove every obstacles on the way” she said determinedly staring completely into the air

Deanna’s Home

“Pack your things you both.. Andrea, you are returning home and as for you.. Princeton, you’re going to your aunt’s place and won’t return till a month time” Deanna said folding the clothes into the bags

“Mum..?” Princeton called
“I said I’m sorry” he continued
Deanna shot him a glare

“Don’t say a word till we leave..! For Peter’s sake..!! I can’t even make a phone call, you both ruined my phone already!!” Deanna said breathlessly.. she was really frustrated

“Sweetheart..” Andrea called as usual, Deanna’s gaze landed on her with furrowed brows
“I’m sorry too.. don’t report me to dad” she pouted childishly

Deanna breathed heavily
“Fine okay. .?”
“Just stop talking” she said with pleading eyes

Few minutes later they were done packing the bags.. Andrea and Princeton kept quiet with innocent looks as they slowly walked behind Deanna, proceeding to leave

“Andrea.. get my car keys from the drawer” Deanna said
Andrea remained in her spot, staring at her without moving

Deanna turned to her in surprise
“Didn’t you hear me..?, get the keys” she said again
Andrea and Princeton turned to each other and suddenly bursted into fake tears

“We punctured the car tyres already…” They both said in unison
Deanna’s purse dropped from her hands in shock
“You did what…?!”

Chairman James’s mansion..
“What do you mean by she left already..” Dylan asked frankly, dressed up completely.. with the luggage in his hands, ready to leave
Tristan and Ashley were the only ones in the dining room

Tristan scoffed
“I guess you two had an argument.. well she left okay! About an hour ago” he said again
Dylan arms dropped
“Did she see us..?” His heart raced

“You mean Claribel left without telling anybody..?!” He asked again

Ashley scrunched up her face
“She left.. Claribel left, okay!” She said

Dylan ran his fingers across his head in frustration.. Mavis watched from upstairs with a deep breath
“Brinkley definitely drugged him”

“I’m sorry.. what was her expression when she was leaving.. like was she sad or angry” Dylan asked
“Ion know” Tristan shrugged

“You both didn’t spend the night together or what’s happening..?” He asked curiously

Dylan sighed, giving no reply
He grabbed the handle of the bag and dragged it behind him, leaving immediately

“Dylan.. your father..” Sophia tried saying as she bumped into him in the corridor
“Mum… I’m leaving okay!” She said sharply and left without saying anything else

“What’s wrong..?” She wondered

He got into his car after dropping the bag in the car booth.. and rested his head on the car steering wheel in frustration

“What have I done…!!” He cried htting his fists repeatedly on the dashboard

After some time, he ignited the car engine and reversed, the automatic gate opened on its own and then he left the compound.. zooming off immediately
“What if she’s resigning..”
“What do I even tell her.. gawd!!”

Many thoughts ran across his mind as he drove on full speed, ignoring the road regulations and traffic lights..

Soon he was chased by the cops but that was the least on his mind now

After about thirty minutes of driving, he arrived at his house and the gate was opened but he didn’t bother to drive in

He parked right infront on the mansion and highlighted immediately, leaving the car doors opened

He ran into the mansion and met lady Ann
“Boss.. you’re back, Claribel arrived not too long ago..” she said but he paid no attention to her
All that on his mind now is to see her.. to see Claribel

She wasn’t in the living room.. he ran upstairs and opened her room door without bothering to knock.. he bumped into her
She was about leaving also, with her bags.. she was resigning

Her eyes were red and swollen, obvious that she had been crying
Their eyes met
“Claribel..” he called..
His gaze diverted to the bags she was crying

His eyes widened..
“Where are you going to..?, why did you leave without me..?, Why?” He asked at once
Claribel sniffed back her tears

“I know, I’m a nobody, but I have my feelings too!!, you made me fall for your stup!d plans.., you used me to achieve your aims, lied to me and deceived me and yet, you ended up sleeping with her! Fine.. go ahead.. After all, she’s your betrothed”

“Listen.. I’m done disguising as your fiance and I’m done working here as a nanny.. don’t you ever come near me, ion care what happens next!” She added and pushed him away, trying to walk away..

Dylan pulled her back and she hit her chest hard on his.. a gasp escaped her lips, he immediately cupped her wet cheeks and crashed his lips on hers without hesitation, kssing her softly as he tasted her tears in the kss

Claribel closed her eyes but instantly got back to her senses.. she pushed him away from her and sI.apped him hard across the face

“Stay away from me you liar!!” She said bitterly, breathing heavily..

Deanna was just coming in at the moment.. her eyes widened on seeing the slapping scene

” Claribel..!!!!!!!!!!”
