Chapter 39

Dylan’s mansion..

“Claribel!!” Deanna screamed shockingly, with widened eyes.. thankfully Princeton and Andrea were still downstairs.., Lady Ann informed her of their arrival earlier before she came in and she ascended the stairs to check on them only to receive the shock of her life

Dylan rubbed his cheeks painfully, folding his fists slowly

“I must be crazy..” he thought

Claribel’s gaze landed on Deanna, she scoffed

“You here?.. interesting” she paused, trying hard to fight back her threatening tears

“I should have known you’re deceiving me.. when you kept persuading me to agree to your plans.. well, it’s over now! I’m done being a babysitter and a fking fake fiancee!” She added, shouting so much that the veins on her neck were revealing

Deanna couldn’t get anything right.. she tried processing everything in her head but it was just so confusing

“Can someone tell me what’s going on here..!!”

Dylan breathed, oblivious of what to do next.. he can’t let her go.. never!, not when everyone identifies her as his fiancee and even as his daughter’s nanny

“Claribel.. I can explain okay.. I just..” he tried saying but a hard glare from her made him keep shut

Deanna took a step to her and grabbed her by her shoulders, their eyes locked.. her tears kept falling freely and surprisingly she didn’t bother to struggle with her

“Claribel.. did he hurt you?” Deanna asked softly

Claribel gave no reply

“Excuse me.. I have to go” she said few seconds later

“Clarry.. talk to me, I seriously don’t understand anything, I’m really going crazy!” She raised her voice a bit

“Anna..” Dylan called slowly, his cheeks were already red as a result of the slap

“Brinkley… Brinkley, I dunno how it happened…. She made me sleep with her” he said and Deanna’s eyes widened with a loud gasp

“Wait.. what..!!”

She smiled shortly

“You’re joking right..” she said not wanting to believe

Claribel removed her hands from her shoulders and wiped her tears with her thumb before leaving immediately, dragging the bag behind her

“It’s fking true.. she injected me and I couldn’t control the urge..” Dylan yelled and immediately sighted Claribel leaving

He ran after her and Deanna did the same

“Claribel..!” He called as she ran..

She looked back swiftly

“Don’t you dare call me!” She said descending the stairs quickly

Andrea and Princeton turned their gaze from the television they were watching.. Andrea’s face beamed in beautiful smiles as she sighted Claribel but they disappeared immediately she sighted her luggages and teary eyes..

“Mum..?!” She called in fear as she rushed to her, Claribel pushed her away and she staggered

“I’m not your mum please.. bye!” She managed to say, fighting back her stubborn tears

Dylan arms dropped on seeing the scene

“She really meant it.. she’s leaving!” His subconscious mind screamed

“Mum.., mum don’t leave please” Andrea bursted into tears clasping her small palms together like she wanted to mutter a word of prayer

Dylan couldn’t move anymore.. his legs stopped on its own

Everything just happened so fast and unbelievable

Deanna ran past him and finally caught Claribel by the arm, she turned her to herself, making her stop on her tracks

Lady Ann came out of the kitchen in shock.. the other maids kept murmuring and mumbling all sorts but no one cared right now

“Claribel.. the poor girl has no mother and she took you as one and now you want to leave her in pains that will cost her happiness for the rest of her life just because of her father’s mistake.. huh?!” Deanna said with glassy eyes.. seeing Mariana in her as their eyes pierced into hers

Now she realises they have a slight resemblance..

The same eyes, hair colour and pointed nose with a glaring mole on her right cheek

“Mariana… ” her mind called

She snapped out of the thought immediately

“I’m crazy” she mumbled

Claribel breathed with a sniff

She diverted her gaze to Andrea.. slowly to Dylan.. to Lady Ann and back to Deanna

Everyone stared at her in anticipation to hear her next words

“Andrea……”

Chairman James’s Mansion..

“Don’t you dare tell me to calm down, how dare he leave without informing anybody!” James raised his voice in fury

Sophia sighed

“He was in a hurry when I tried stopping him and I have no idea why..”

Everyone excluding Dylan and Claribel were present in the sitting room

Brinkley said nothing

She kept ignoring Mavis stares all through

“I think those two had a misunderstanding, they left separately” Ashley said with a shrug

“Dylan is getting on my nerves and it will take me nothing to get rid of that cockroach by his side” Chief Wilson said without thinking twice

Tristan furrowed his brows

“Cockroach..?!”

“My son clearly doesn’t want your daughter.. so don’t dare to try anything funny!” Sophia yelled back

“The goods should arrive in India latest by Wednesday!” Mrs Wilson said without realizing.. She regretted it immediately as Wilson glared daggers at her

“Don’t tell me, I heard wrongly again!” Mrs Wilson’s mind cried

Brinkley bit her lower lip in disappointment while Chief Wilson sat quietly in embarrassment

“Ohhhw.. your mum suffers a chronic and critical hearing problem” Tristan turned to Mavis and bursted into laughter

Ashley joined him also

“Tristan..!” James cautioned

“Listen.. ion hide my feelings okay! I can’t have my son married to a drvg add!ct whose mother’s condition is worse than that of a deaf and dumb!” Sophia said confidently

Chief Wilson and her husband gasped in shock

” Sophia..!!!”

“I love mothers who tells nothing but the truth..” Ashley said mockingly and laughed also

“That’s my mum for you…” Tristan said with a wink

“James.. will you watch your family insult me that way!” Wilson half yelled

“We mentioned no one’s name.. didn’t we?!” Sophia retorted

“I’ll leave now” Brinkley suddenly spoke, standing up immediately

“Ohh, I thought you lost your tongue”* Ashley said sarcastically with a sympathetic look.

“Just tired..” Brinkley said as she left

Everyone stared at her suspiciously

Mavis immediately followed her..

“Something is wrong..” James mumbled

Scott Hills high..

“What took you so long..” Dior, Jessica’s friend asked as she entered the class few seconds after Simpson and her friends did

Jessie bit her lower lip

“Something urgent came up.. I’m back now right!”

“Uhh.. sure” she flashed a smile before continuing what she was doing

Jessica’s gaze landed on Harold, he coincidentally turned and their eyes met as they stared at each other for a few seconds before breaking the stare

He flashed a broad smile at her expecting it in return but she noticed Simpson was staring at her.. from the corner of her eyes

She only looked away and Harold felt disappointed

“What’s wrong..” he wondered
