Chapter 58
Writer’s POV—- Moments Later
“Ana…”
“David”
Rosiana got up from her seat nervously, and ran into his arms.
“I came as soon I saw your text. Sorry I couldn’t pick your calls, I was in a meeting”
He apologized, wrapping his arms around her.
“How’s she?” He asked.
In panic, Ana tilted her head up to his face.
“I don’t understand what the doctor is saying. I can’t grab anything.” She said amidst tearful sobs.
“That’s okay” he pulled her head back on his broad shoulders.
“She’s in coma David. My mom is in coma.. I don’t really know wh–
“That’s okay baby. I’ll go talk to the doctor myself. Stop crying Please.
Everything will be alright. Your mom will be fine. Nothing will happen to her” he assured her.
“I ca- can’t lose her” she sobbed.
“You won’t. I promise”
She heaved heavily with a faint nod.
“Sit here while I talk with the doctor.”
“Okay”
Ana heeded and sat on a vacant seat. Her mind running round circles. She isn’t herself. She has been in tears for hours.
She actually received a call from the doctor that her mom is in a critical condition and she needs to come over.
She rushed down here just to get another news from the doctor’s report that her mom slipped into coma.
She doesn’t understand a thing.
Her mom whom she pays frequent visits to and was obviously in good shape has suddenly slipped into comatose. Someone she expected to be discharged days from now.
Deep within her she mutters endless prayers for a miracle. Cause she’s all she’ve got.

“But she was doing fine days ago. How come this?” David asked in puzzlement.
“It’s strange to me too Mr David. From the test we ran through we discovered some foreign substance inside her system”
“What foreign substance?” He arched.
It shouldn’t be what he’s thinking at the moment.
David hoped.
The doctor who understood the look on his face quickly assured him the substance gas nothing to do with hard drugs.
Causing a relief in David.
“The substance found in her system is strange and hasn’t been diagnosed yet.
We are sure it didn’t just get into her system. It was planted there by someone. Recently”.
The doctor added.
David hasn’t been more confused in his life.
“Planted in… Does it mean it was injected into her?… Hold on doctor.
Is there something you aren’t telling me?”
He threw the doctor a questioning look.
“Mr David all I’m going to assu—
“Don’t assure me of anything doctor. What I want is good news.
Find a way to extract that foreign substance out of her system. That’s what I want to hear. Start the treatment!
I mean where the hell were you and the nurses when it was injected into her?
Or this hospital no longer take proper care of it’s patient??”
“No please that’s not…
“Just find a damn way to treat her. I don’t want anything to happen to her… And you should call your nurses to order.
Rosiana’s mom will not be used as a caricature for them. Find a cure to her ailment within 48hours. After then, I want good New!! ”
“We can’t apply treatment on her till the substance is identified. If it’s diagnosed, we can know the area to treat from.
But Take my word on this, nothing will happen to her”
“Nothing better”
with that, he got up from his seat and walked out of the doctor’s office.
DAVID
Immediately I left the doctor’s office, I walked over to where Ana sat all by herself.
“Let’s go Baby. I’ll drive you home”
I held her up. My eyes fell on her teary face and my heart broke at an instant.
“What did the doctor say?” She asked tearfully.
“He said she’ll be fine” I replied.
I really don’t want to tell her the shape of things.
I don’t want her to panic too much. She has panicked enough already.
Her mom will be fine. It’s a promise I’m willing to keep for her.
“Just go home and rest. The kids miss you already”
I faked a smile to cover my worried thoughts.
I don’t want her to notice anything off. I don’t want her to know I’m worried too.
“Okay. I think I need to rest. I’m not myself. My head is heavy. The news really troubles me. I need sleep to take my mind off this a bit”
“Alright dear” I nodded.
She really doesn’t look herself.
They both walked out of the hospital, David leading her to where he parked his Jeep.
He’s taking her home.

I couldn’t concentrate anymore on the days work. I already took Ana home not quite long and I’m back to the office.
Ana looks really tired I must admit. The situation is really unbearable to her.
And that’s the more reason I can’t bring myself to tell her what the doctor said.
I still can’t understand what the doctor actually mean by foreign substance in her system.
What is really going on?
What must have resulted to this?
Who the hell injected such into her system and why for Pete’s sake??
What did Rose or her mother do to the dmn person?
Where were the nurses when this incident happened?
I can’t really fathom this to be a mistake done by one of the nurses. Nurses aren’t that careless.
Except they are and I haven’t heard of such before.
What if this is the doing of someone who just wants her dead? Or someone who has a bad motion.
My head is really blank right now and I can’t possibly think straight.
But if truly the clue i have in my mind right now is possible,.. then it shouldn’t be what I’m thinking!
