Chapter 61
DAVID
The house is just so cold without her presence. It’s past 1 in the morning and still I’m unable to sleep.
Why am I having a bad feeling that something is not right somewhere?
First, Ana’s mom got injected with a strange substance which the doctor finds hard to diagnose. And my guess is, it’s slowly eating the life out of her.
Now, I have no idea where Ana is.
I have a feeling that someone close to knowing is responsible for all of this. But what has Ana done?
What have I done? Cause this is all affecting me. I can’t even sleep. I can’t eat. I can’t think straight.!
I had to forge something up for my kids about Ana so they’ll stop being worried and go to bed.
How long can I keep up with the lie?
What if I don’t find a solution to all of this?
Isn’t it obvious that Ana is in the custody of someone else? It’s obvious that she has been abducted.
Good thing I already reported the case to the commissioner of police. He gave me his word to look into it at the break of the day.
I made Ana a promise. I promised her nothing will happen to her mom. But how can I keep this promise when problem is coming from two different sides?.
My instinct tells me same person who injected Ana’s mom with a foreign substance gas something to do with her abduction.
This can’t be a coincidence happening less than a week. Someone is definitely pioneering this sh•t.
For revenge or what???
But needn’t worry, cause whoever it is, I’m gonna get you. And when I do, there’ll be no escape.
By Eight that morning, David who couldn’t sleep throughout the night drove out of the house with Heavy heart.
He looked pale and tired. But his condition couldn’t suppress the anger on his face.
It’s all crystal clear to him now.
Who would inject Ana’s mom with no just cause?
Who would abduct Ana for no reason???
After much thinking last night, he finally figured out the ass hole behind this whole mess.
It’s Alicia! It has always been Alicia.
Why didn’t he think this on time?
That ?itch has always been evil. She’s never tired of her dubious ways.
Firstly, she tried to kill Ana and Janietta. But luckily, didn’t succeed.
Secondly, concerning Ana’s mom, maybe it’s her way of getting back on Ana. He remembered the day she had referred *Medical Touch Hospital* the morning he was to admit Ana’s mom. That was how she got to know about the hospital she was receiving treatment from.
Finding her way into the woman’s ward to inject her with such harmful substance wouldn’t be a problem to her.
Thirdly, Alicia hates Ana. Maybe she’s doing all this to get back at her since she feels Ana took the love of her life away from her.
Or maybe she’s doing this to get back at me cause she feels I made her lose her job. Her only source of livelihood.
Who knows?.
These were David conclusions as he furiously drove to the station.
Before leaving the house, he made sure to prepare breakfast for his kids.
And just in case he doesn’t come back before noon, he already heated the leftover of dinner for the kids.
He also made sure to lock them in the house.
Ana is missing. He can’t risk the safety of his kids too.

I stared at the text message I received that morning with a satisfactory smile.
It’s done.
Everything I mapped out. It’s done!
I felt a bit relieved and Happy about the message content.

I texted back… and gave out a tired sigh.
Placing my phone aside, I rested back on my bed. It’s morning already and probably past nine still I don’t feel like eating something.
Nora is actually around and maybe busy in the kitchen or in her room resting as well.
Ever since she got pregnant, she hardly take normal breakfast. Just fruits in the morning before lunch.
Guess it’s her appetite. I bet not all miss preggie behave in such manner.
At this point, I won’t consider myself an inconsiderate person or friend with what I have in mind. Nora isn’t aware of anything and I intend to keep it that way.

My door suddenly opened with a confused Nora standing before it.
“I thought you said David dropped the charges”
“The he.ll? Of course he did.” I arched. Why would she ask such this morning?
“Is something wrong?” I asked. Her countenance, nothing close to bright.
“Come see for yourself” she walked out.
I quickly climbed down from The bed and followed behind. Getting to the sitting, I met David and some policemen standing. And funny enough, it looked like they were waiting for me.
“What is the meaning of this David?” Confused, I asked him.
“Do your thing officers” he instructed and they charged towards me.
Hold on.
“What is going on here? Why are you here with the police?”
“Follow us to the station Miss. You are needed to answer some questions”
“What questions?” I reluctantly asked. This is a total harassment.
“To avoid any more complications, do as you’re told” David adviced… As they slowly led me out of the house.

I slowly opened my eyes from my subconscious. It’s a bit heavy and my head hurts like hell.
I don’t remember going to bed last night.
What Time is it by the way.
I drifted my eyes to the wall where the wall clock is normally hunged. But found no clock. Maybe David took it out.
About David, I don’t remember seeing him before going to bed. I don’t remember serving dinner.
Wait…..
I paused my movement when I noticed the bed I was lying on.
This is definitely not my bed. Neither is this my room.
Did I sleep in a wrong room last night??
Since I’ve been in this mansion, I’ve never come across any room with this pattern of decoration.
I don’t even remember going to bed last night. I remember nothing of such.
The last I can clearly remember was going to Junior’s room and a knock came on the door which made me leave junior all by himself.
That’s the last thing I remember.
My heart skipped when all of sudden, I began hearing faint footsteps.
The steps were getting clearer as it approached closer.
Soon it stopped at my door post. I guess.
Then slowly, the door’s knob twisted… The door making a shriek sound.
In fear, I began to count steps back Ward.
