CHAPTER 122
A BAR**
“Cheers!!!” The staffs of XXIV Carats chorused as they all clinked their cups in celebration of their success.
They sold all the jewelries in the store today, and it won’t be opening tomorrow since they won’t be getting new goods till tomorrow evening, so it’s a resting day for everyone.
They all drank till the bottoms of their cups are up, and they dropped the cups at once.
“You deserve increment of salary, and I’m paying you double by month-end, Cypress” the boss said, and her eyes widened.
“Boss!”
Linda rolled eyes maliciously, she’s sitting on her right side while Oliver is by the left.
“You deserve it, though I’m sad, you have a rich brother now, and he might decide to make you stop working at the store any moment from now” the boss replied, and Cypress smiled
“I hope days like this will continue coming till you’d leave us anyways, cheers once again” he said, and everyone filled their cups to clink again.
“I need to use the restroom” Cypress said.
“Sure” the boss said, and she left.
“Me too” Oliver stood.
“It seems like you both are dating these days” the boss said, and everyone laughed.
“It’s totally not like that, I’m the one who has a crush on her” he replied.
? Whoaaa!!!
“Are you admitting that publicly right now?” The boss said, and Oliver smiled before leaving for the restroom too.
Linda stylishly shifted closer to Cypress’s seat immediately.
She took out a pill from her bag and secretly dropped in Cypress’s drink.

Cypress came out of the restroom and met Oliver waiting outside, and she held her chest.
“You scared me! You have that knack in abundance” she said, and he smiled
“You know your tolerance is low, so stop drinking when we go back” he said, and she nodded.
“You care about me” she smiled.
“Who said I don’t?” He replied, and she sighed.
“It’s nothing, I’ll stop drinking, happy now?” She replied, and he smiled before stroking her hair.
They went back together, and immediately they sat, Oliver took the remaining drink in her cup.
Before Linda could stop him, he drank it all.
“Oliver!!” Linda screamed, shocking everyone.
“What’s up? Linda?” The boss asked, and she looked at everyone.
She sat back when she saw the shocked look on their faces. “Nothing” she said awkwardly.
“I’d take my leave now, my granny is home alone and we just moved like you know, she’s not used to the environment” Cypress said.
“Let’s leave together, your new neighborhood isn’t far from mine” Oliver stood.
“I’ll see you both when the store resumes” the boss said, and they bowed before leaving together.
Linda became totally restless, so she took her leave too, going straight home.
She met Lina in the living room, working on her laptop.
“You look restless, what’s up?” She asked.
“Nothing” Linda replied.
“I met Williams today again, he payed me for another job, he wants reports on Maxwell’s movements and his family members, 24/7” Lina said.
“None of my business” Linda replied restlessly again.
“Tell me what’s bothering you!” Lina spranged up.
“The pill, I mean….the poison… I meant to use it on Cypress, but Oliver drank the alcohol instead!” Linda snapped, and Lina’s eyes widened.
“What the h’ll!”
