BROWN SKIN GIRL: Chapter 1 to 10

?Brown skin girl?

?Chapter four?

Trisha thought that she could handle the whole moving to California stuff, but everything was overturning in school.

Ciona and her group of cheerleaders won’t stop picking on her, other kids mocked her because of her color. Her color? Back in her school in Detroit, she was the prettiest girl in school and here, because she wasn’t white she didnt near the title.

She tried not to care about what they said about her in school, but unlike her, she found herself caring and feeling bad after any single thing they said. She was supposed to be very confident in herself but it seemed like she left her popular confident feeling back in Detroit. She wasn’t happy at the girl she was becoming but she just couldn’t help but care.

“Ruby? Chloe? Rate my color.” She said one morning when they were preparing for their first class. The hallway was rowdy and noisy, and the three girls were atTrisha’s locker.
Ruby and Chloe exchanged glances

“Look Trisha, don’t mind the rubbish they are saying, you are amazing just the way you arrrre..!” Chloe assured singing the last part. Trisha rolled her eyes
“I know that, ok? Just compare my color with something” She pressed closing her locker and fully facing her friends.
“I’ll say potato fries” Ruby suggested

“Nah… Potato fries? No way… Peanuts is the best description” Chloe argued and Trisha smiled
“Uhhhh… I love peanuts!” Ruby said childishly
“Who cares!?” Chloe rolled her eyes
“My dad calls me peanuts.” Trisha said in a chuckle.
“Awwwn… Thats so cute!” Ruby said ruffling Trisha’s hair. Trisha dodged and the girls laughed.

“Talent hunt, talent hunt… Coming up in five weeks … Pick up your forms, sign up sign up… Show us what you’re stuffed with”
They turned to the direction of the voice and saw Bella walking down the hallway with a heap of forms in her hands. Students grabbed their copies and others looked uninterested.

Ruby got them a copy and read it through “So, what should we do?” She asked looking at Chloe. Chloe shrugged
“I don’t know… We could do a dance!” She replied
“Yeah, and we’ll show Botley where to find a real Pop queen!” Ruby said smiling boastfully

“In this circle!” Chloe completed and they highfived themselves, laughing.
“Wait a minute, you girls dance?” Trisha asked incredulously

“Yeah… We are what you’ll describe as ladies born to dance! Haha.” Ruby replied.
“Well, if you girls are that good why did the Cheerteam and the dance gang reject you?” Trisha asked.

Ruby scratched her neck in playful shame
“Well… Because… Chloe, tell her why” She said
“They said…” Chloe started
“They said we weren’t good enough!” Ruby interrupted causing Chloe to roll her eyes and Trisha to laugh.

“Really? Maybe you girls could show me your dance moves at the basketball court after school. What you need is a real dancer to judge you. But don’t worry, you have me!” Trisha boasted pointing a thumb at herself and smiling proudly.
Chloe rose a brow. The two girls exchanged glances and bursted out laughing. Trisha looked unhurt.

“I’m sorry, Trisha… But I don’t think dancing is your thing!” Chloe said in a giggle.
“DANCING IS HER THING!” Chloe told Ruby as they watched in awe,Trisha dancing on the court from the side line to the music box, few meters away from her, after school.
Her bones flexed and moved like it was an easy task… Her leg works were so beautiful to watch. She danced with ease and poise like she was born to do it.

When she was done she stopped the music and turned to the girls. “You see… I think what you girls are missing is flexibility. You are the master of every tissue in your body, and you tell them where to go… Dancing is not war against the fibres in your body… Its more like every fiber helping out every… Are you guys even listening?” She asked when she saw the lost and awed expression on their faces
“All hail the Pop queen!” Ruby and Chloe chorused like they were hypnotized and began to bow playfully
“Stop it!” Trisha giggled and they laughed.

“Wow, Trisha… You’re so gooood.” Chloe comments
“Yeah, you are like a goddess in dancing” Ruby added and Trisha blushed
“And I thought Ciona was a dancer… Wait till she sees you!” Chloe said

“Whoah… I’m not dancing in talent hunt, guys.” She said
“Nonsense! We’re going to do a dance… The three of us!” Ruby finalized.

They were interrupted by a bouncing basketball and they looked towards the door.
“Time up! Get out… I want to lock up!” Ryan announced arrogantly.

Was he really there? Did he see them dance? He is so dreamy! Look at his hair… And that lips!
Of course those were Ruby’s thoughts and Chloe had already began to pack their stuff. Trisha wore a disgusted look on her face. This was the fool that ruined her first day of school a month ago… Who does he even think he is? Prime minister’s son, her foot!
“And since when did this court start getting locked up?” She asked hands akimbo.

“Well.. Since I became captain of the basketball team!” Ryan replied and gave a small laugh bouncing the ball and going into the court. He tried to score from a distance but missed

“So… They say you name is Disher!” He mocked and giggled
“Its Trisha, you freak!” Trisha replied angrily
“Who cares?” Ryan answered and tried to score again. He didnt miss this time. Trisha glared ice daggers at him
“You know… I haven’t really spoken to you to ask if you like the milk last month… Believe me, its fresh milk! So… Did you like it?” He bursted out laughing
Trisha’s face hottened in anger and she clenched her fist. She turned to the girls

“Let’s get outta here!” She said and they made to leave. The basketball ball landed on Ruby’s head and she fell down with a groan. The girls gasped and Ryan could only say ‘oops’.
“Thats it!” Trisha said and picked up the ball and turned to Ryan.

Ryan got into a dodging stance “Come on baby, hit me!” He sounded cocky and it annoyed Trisha to the core.
“Let’s do it this way… Shame on you if you miss… Shame on me if you don’t miss! And the second option doesn’t exists.” He said laughing loudly.

Trisha looked at him and at the pillar behind him and back at him again. She threw the ball and it flew past him and towards the pillar.

“Ha! She doesn’t even know how to aim… Urgh!” He exclaimed as the ball hit the back of his head and he staggered forward grabbing his head in pain and rubbing it roughly. The ball had bounced back at him from the pillar

The girls laughed “She doesn’t even know how to aim!” Trisha mimicked him and they turned to go. She stopped in her tracks as she saw her leaning by the door

“Becky?!”
They got to her and the girls asked Trisha who she was
“Scram girls!” Becky ordered dreadfully and the girls scurried away, throwing their goodbyes at Trisha.

“Those are my friends! You have no damn right to dismiss them like that, you fkingar$eh0le!” Trisha said feeling so good to insult Becky to her face.
Becky looked unaffected. “Let’s go!” She commanded and walked out. Confusion was clearly written on Trisha’s face but she followed anyway.

“Let’s go? What’s going on? Why the fuck are you here? Where’s my dad?” Trisha asked when she caught up with Becky. Becky didnt even look at her, she just answered a call
“Oh Papaya, hey !” She said sweetly into the phone. Trisha couldn’t believe it was the same woman leading her out of the school that sounded that way “Yes, she’s with me Now… You know how it is?.. She’s just so stubborn and hot headed” She said and chuckled and handed the phone over to Trisha.

Trisha snatched it from her hand and glared at her… Which of course she didn’t notice because she wasn’t looking.
“Hey dad… What’s going on?” She asked impatiently
“Calm down, peanuts… Everything is ok. How are you doing?”

“I’m not ok until you tell me what’s going on… What is she doing here? Why are you calling?” Trisha yelled in slight panic
“Peanut! Everything is alright. I had an emergency at the office today and I had to go on a business trip to Los angelos.

I called Becky in to stay with you for the next few days I’ll be away… Don’t worry, she’ll take good care of you for the next few days!” Damian explained briefly
“Dad! I’ll be in hell for the next few days! Call her off, I can take care of myself” Trisha complained

“Don’t worry, peanut… It’ll be alright. Just be good.!”
“No… Dad, call her off… I’m 17 I can take care of my self!” She yelled aggressively into the phone

“Bye sweetie, call you later, gotta go.” Damian said
“No dad wait… Dad, dad! Damn!” She yelled angrily and made to smash the phone on the ground.

“Don’t you dare!” Becky remarked coldly and Trisha’s hang hung midair.
Becky took the phone from her hand and put it back into the purse.

“Your dad said I should pardon you because you break things whenever you are angry… Don’t try that around me or I’ll show you how to break stuff using your bones for instance.” She threatened. Trisha felt goose bumps at the sound of the threat but snapped out of it.
Becky took out her car keys and unlocked the car. She hopped into the driver’s seat and turned on the ignition.

Trisha hesitated and then open the door to the back seat
Becky snapped her fingers “Front!” She ordered
Trisha slammed the back door and climbed into the front seat and crossed her arms grumpily
“Seat belt!” Becky said again and Trisha obeyed reluctantly.
Becky dived into the road and sped off.

The atmosphere in the car was filled with an awkward silence with Trisha concentrated on her phone and Becky on the road.
Becky sighed inwardly. This girl was a lot stubborn. How was she supposed to disclose her plan to her? She really needed Trisha on this mission because Trisha had the best chance of getting close to the prime minister’s son. She was also very calculative… That was confirmed in the basketball court. It could work if she would just cooperate and agree to help out. All she had to do was watch the kid and try to detect any danger around him so the MI7 would know what they were up against.

She stole a glance at Trisha and kept her eyes back on the road as she made a turn… Sure enough it would break the silence
5…4…3…2…
“What are you doing? Why the turn? My home is straight ahead, where are we going?” Trisha asked in disdain..
“We’re going to my place.” Becky said grimly
Trisha eyed her “One… Can’t you talk to me with expression? Two… I don’t want to go to your fking rabbit hole!” Trisha snapped. Becky looked unaffected

“One… I can talk to you with expression but I don’t wanna! Two… Don’t call my place a fucking rabbit hole! Three… Enough of those dirty languages of yours!” Becky said expressionlessly.

Trisha scoffed “Or what? You’re gonna open this door and push me outta this fking dmn crab of a car?” She dared
Becky shrugged “Good idea” she said with a smirk
She pressed the button on her side on the car and Trisha’s door flew open causing Trisha to scream. Becky pushed Trisha out of the car.

Trisha shut her eyes tight. This is it! This was how she was going to die! Oh, she wasn’t ready to die.! She opened her eyes slowly and the breeze was hitting forcefully at her eyes so she narrowed her eye sight.

She was half way out of the car and halfway on the road, hanging horizontally, her butt still on the car seat and her hair almost sweeping the road. She realized that she was still screaming loudly and she felt tears flying alongside her hair
But how come was she not on the floor already. She looked into the car and saw the heels of a red shoe holding the seat belt close to her chest and Becky acting like nothing was going on.

How is she able to do that? Is she a stiletto or what?
“Becky!” She screamed “PLEASE!… let me up!” She cried in fright

“Are you going to promise not to use any other dirty language around me?” Becky asked… Totally looking unconcerned
“Yes!.. I promise PROMISE! PINKY SWEAR! PARRY RETER PROMISE! I will never in my entire life use such languages. Please let me up! I’m too young to die!” She was crying seriously now.

She looked at the side mirror and saw a car trying to overtake. She gulped.
She shut her eyes tight. ‘Blessed Jesus… Forgive me my sins and accept me in heaven. I’m on my way!’ She prayed inwardly as she awaited her fate.

Becky drew her back into the car with her heels and dropped her leg back on the throttle and shut the door automatically.

Trisha melted on her seat. Her eyes were wide with shock. Did she almost just die?
Becky stole a glance at her and couldn’t help but smile.

It took Trisha 5 minutes to slightly recover from the shock of her life
“Wh..wh.. What just happened?” She stuttered, adrenaline still shooting at her veins.
Becky shrugged “I can’t remember” She said sarcastically

Trisha turned to glare at her. “I do!” She said “YOU ALMOST KILLED ME, YOU MOTHERFKER!… I mean…er.. Thanks for saving me Becky.” She corrected immediately and sank in her seat biting her lower lip. She looked at the back seat and a bulb lit in her head. She looked back at Becky and hurriedly climbed to the back seat.
The action caused Becky to laugh out loud “Funny girl” she said

“You mon$ter!” Trisha started, a feeling of safety enveloping her in the backseat “You almost killed me! What were you thinking? I could have died out of shock and fright! A car could have cut off my head all because you wanted to teach me a stupid lesson!”
“Literally, it was your Idea, not mine!” Becky defended uninterestedly.

“My I..? I was not serious!” Trisha yelled
“I’m a serious person!” Becky said. Trisha scoffed and rolled her eyes…
“Obviously!” She said. “What if the police had stopped you then, eh? You’ll be in jail now you know?”
“But I’m not!” She said
“I could have died!” Trisha roared in frustration
“But you didn’t!” Becky replied calmly

“You would have missed the catch with your heels!” Trisha cried still shocked
“But I didn’t!” Becky said. Trisha paused and looked at Becky
“You wouldn’t care if I died” She said
“I’m a person of reality, not of assumption. ‘If’ is not a word I respect. My strategies don’t fail.” Becky said
“Urrrrrgh!… I hate you!” Trisha yelled
“I hate you too, peanut” Becky replied
“Arrrrrrrgh!”
