BROWN SKIN GIRL: Chapter 1 to The End

?Brown skin girl?

?Chapter thirteen

Trisha was in a state of panic as she hurried to the basketball court.
What if he wasn’t there?
That would mean only one thing!
She gulped. She kept looking back and out for the janitor. She wanted Ryan safe but she won’t risk her own safety.
Or would she?
Ryan came out of one of the restrooms and leaned on his locker in the locker room, listening to the conversation of his crazy teammates.

“Well, that new girl is kinda hot too you know. What’s her name? Caddy.” Drake commented
“No… She’s too sassy.” Cal remarked with his nose scrunched up. “You know Mia don’t you? She’s not bad. I even had a crush on her once.” He added. An ‘ohhh’ sound erupted from them.
“Ok yeah, she’s cute. What about Trisha? She’s so hot.” Nelson said with a cocky grin.
Ryan felt his eyes pop out of his eyes socket.

“Yeah, she really pretty.” Cal admitted with a shrug and all the boys in the room admitted.
“I wonder if she has a boyfriend.” Dave said questioningly, looking at the faces of his teammates.
“I’m not sure…” Drake said and turned to Ryan who was on his locker, listening to their conversation. “That reminds me. Ryan. Does she have a boyfriend?”
Ryan felt a glare on his face
“How am I supposed to know?” He snapped.
“Calm down, hothead. Since she’s in your gang…” Nelson said patting Ryan’s shoulder.
“Well, I don’t know!” He interrupted
“There was a time that we almost thought you two were a thing.” Cain told Ryan teasingly.
“Yeah, that time he served detention…. With her.” Drake agreed, stressing the ‘with her’. The other boys laughed and Ryan felt his cheeks heat up for the third time that dmn day.

Nelson elbowed him at his side
He glared at him.
“Stop it ok. Trisha’s just my friend” He defended.
“She’s kinda into you, you know.” Mikey commented coming out of a toilet, totally naked.
Ryan shut his eyes and slapped his head in disappointment.
“Put something on, Mikey!” He ordered and the boys laughed.
“What? I’m proud of me.” Mikey remarked pointing at his property below his waist.
“Yeah, and we are ashamed of us.” James said rolling his eyes.
“Come on guys, we are all guys. Not like a girl will just barge in here any moment.” He said carelessly.

Just then, the door flung open.
A high pitched girlish scream erupted from Mikey’s mouth and he ran to hide in a corner.
Their eyes turned to the direction of the open door to see who was invading their privacy.

Surprise took over their features and they saw her standing there with wide eyes.
Ryan unfolded his hands and stood up straight, confusion clearly written on his face.
Trisha’s wide eye stayed fixed on the spot Mikey was standing. She was so shocked she didn’t know whether to scream, or laugh or turn around and run out of that place.

Dmn! What was she thinking barging in like that. She didn’t expect the basketball team to be there. It was lunch time for crying out loud.
There was a thick tension and silence in the room for up to 2 minutes with the boys exchanging glances and waiting for Trisha to meet their expectations and run out.
Dave smirked and walked up to Trisha. He lifted her jaw and she jolted into reality.
She dragged her face out of his grip immediately and turned her back to them.

“I’m so so so sorry! I didn’t know what I was thinking! I’m really sorry.” She apologized quickly, still trying to place pieces in her head. “I better get going. Bye.” She said and made for the door.

Dave darted towards the door and shut it, smiling at Trisha onesidedly.
Trisha frowned at him.
“Come on, girl… You just came.” He said, flexing his muscles.
“Yeah, Trisha have a seat.” Nelson agreed, taking her hand and pushing her into the room. She yelped.
Ryan glared at Nelson.
“It wasn’t too nice to just barge in, you know, you’re a girl. We are guys. Different genders.” Drake told her.
“I know that, I apologized, can you let me go now.” Trisha stated plainly, fixing her eyes on his face. They were all shirtless in that room and damn, it was tempting.
“Don’t be in a rush. You’re part us now.” Cal said with a grin, pushing her down on the bench.

She landed on the bench and looked up at the boys hovering over her, with wicked grins on their faces. She returned their looks with an angry snicker.
“Hey guys, that’s enough now.” Ryan ordered, coming into Trisha’s view.
Relief flushed Trisha’s expression. She hadn’t seen him when she came in and she was too distracted to wonder where he was.
“Oh, Come on, Ryan. We need some fun.” Cal whined.
“Not with her.” Ryan said coldly, taking Trisha’s hand and helping her up.

Trisha’s cheeks colored again.
“What are you doing here anyway?” He asked her.
Trisha searched her mind looking for an appropriate answer.
“Err… Well, em…” She began to fiddle her hair in her finger.
“Let’s go.” Ryan said and took her hand.
“No way, Ryan. We’re going to have to fight over this one!” Nelson said blocking their way. “What’s wrong with you man? Since when does girls leave this locker room freely?”
“Yeah, Ryan. You’ve gone soft.” Drake admitted, standing beside Nelson.

“She already apologized didn’t she?” Ryan said.
“Well, she isn’t leaving her without doing it.” Dave said, standing with his arms akimbo.
Trisha frowned in confusion. She looked up at Ryan.

“Doing what?” She asked him, a hint of panic in her voice.
“Stripping!” Cal announced and the boys laughed.
Trisha’s eyes widened. Her look turned into a glare. She dragged her hand off Ryan’s.
He gave her a questioning look
“Don’t worry, I’ve got this.” She assured.
His brows furrowed
“No way, I’m not letting you do that?” Ryan said.
She gave him a small smile.
“Who said I’m gonna do it? You’ve gone soft.” She teased, stressing the ‘soft’.
She turned to them. She was so unsure on what to do and she was scared too but she tried her best not to let it show.
She looked round the room calculatively. They was a bar that stretched across the room above their heads.

She furrowed her brows. There were five boys blocking her way to the door and all looking ‘hungry’.
“She wants to fight us.” Cal said to the others as he noticed her calculative motions.

The boys laughed.
She laughed too, taking slow steps to the opposite end of the room
The boys exchanged glances wondering what on earth was funny to her. Even Ryan was confused.
“Me? Fight you guys? No way. I don’t wanna get hurt.” She said honestly, still doing some calculus in her head.
She turned to face them and smiled.

They began to make their way closer to her…
She took a deep breath and started running towards them.
Their brows furrowed in confusion. They wondered what her plan was.
She jumped up as high as she could and caught the bar that hung above them..
Her legs swung above their heads and she landed at the door.

She opened it proudly.
She turned back to look at their amazed faces. She gave them a cute smile.
“So long, guys.” She said. “Come on, Ryan, I came for you.” She admitted and went out.

Ryan felt the edges of his lips twitch in amusement. That girl never stops amazing him.
He let out a deep chuckle and patted Nelson’s back.
“Whoah.” He said and laughed.
Nelson turned to glare at him
“I had no hand in it.” Ryan said raising his hands in surrender, still wearing his amused looks.
“I respect her.” Cal blurted out like he was hypnotized
“Yeah, you ought to.” Ryan said ruffling his hair.
“You’re lucky, dude.” Drake told him.

“Pretty, smart, calculative… Yup, you’re really lucky.” Dave added elbowing Ryan.
Ryan felt his head swell for a moment. He mentally shrugged. It was no time to argue anyway.
“Yeah… I am.” He agreed, wishing wishing it was true.
“You’ve gat the eyes, Ryan.” Nelson admitted.
Ryan smiled to himself
“Yeah… I do.” He agreed, walking towards the door.
“… And Ryan,… ” Drake called. “Please..err… We’re sorry, tell her we’re sorry. We shouldn’t have…” His voice trailed off and the rest agreed.
“Yeah… I will.” Ryan said with a sense of pride he had no idea where it came from, and walked out.

Ryan met Trisha pacing outside, on the basketball court.
He swept the smile off his face and adjusted his jacket and wore his ‘cool’ look.
She heard his steps and turned around to look at him. The damn blush returned on her cheeks. She looked at the floor of the court.

“Look, I didn’t mean to barge in… I didn’t even know anybody was in there, you know its time for lunch and all.” She defended, squeezing her fingers.

Ryan studied her for a while.
“That’s for the boys.” He reminded “What do you have to do with it anyway?”
Trisha looked up at his face and stood hands akimbo.
“Well, as I said earlier, I was looking for you. I didn’t see you in the lunch hall and I was…” She trailed off, feeling embarassed by the look he was giving her. She rolled her eyes
“Will you stop looking at me that way.” She remarked and he smirked.
“What? I totally understand… You missed me.” He said cockily, raising his brows and dropping them at her.
Trisha groaned
“Great.” She sighed. “Let’s go lunch is almost over.”
She said, walking away from him.

He followed her.
Ask her to the movies.
How was he supposed to do that?
Ok… He would reach her and say… ‘Trisha, will you go to the movies with me?’… No, too straight.
‘Trisha, there’s a movie we could go see, I bet you its a cool movie.’.. Naah… Weird
‘Trisha, would you be free on Saturday? We could go see a movie.’ No way… It’ll look like he’s asking her on a date.
Now that he thought of it, no matter how he presents it, its a date.

He sighed lowly
He put his hands in his pockets and reached her pace.
‘You’ve gat this’
“So… Em… Trisha…” He said, wondering where such croaked voice came from. He cleared his throat.
“Yeah?” Trisha said, stealing a glance at him.
Ryan scratched the nape of his neck nervously. What if she says no? Dmn that would be so embarrassing! Should he just forget about it and skip the shame of her declining?
‘How do you even know she’ll decline?’ That was Jack’s voice in his head.

Mikey. He felt like going back to Mikey and asking him what he knows about Trisha being into him.
‘Great! Come on, Ryan. Don’t be such a coward! Get on with it.’
Now that was Kyle’s voice.
Seriously??
He cleared his throat
“So… Are you free on Saturday?” He asked, gathering the courage.
She looked up at him questioningly.

The courage he gathered scattered at once, he began to blab
“Urrrr… There’s em a movie… And popcorns… We may even see some unicorns on the way…”
Trisha rose a brow
“Em… I meant.. Err… Unicorns? I totally didn’t mean unicorns, where did that even come from?…” He giggled nervously, stuffing his sweaty palms in his pocket.

“Its just… Em.. A movie, you could come if you like.” He said stupidly and mentally cursed his stupidity.
“I mean… I’ll be going, so will Kyle and Jack and probably the whole school… Even Mrs Hanns kids…”
Urrrrgh! Mrs Hanns kids? Where did that even come from? He felt like slapping his empty head…

Dmn! Was this how it felt to ask a girl you liked out?
“… All I’m trying to say is…” He continued.
Trisha stopped
“Ryan… Are you asking me out?” She asked helpfully.
Ryan gulped. His hand flew to rub his head..
“Err… I mean… Ok.. That’s it… I guess… Yes.” He mumbled.
Trisha placed her hand over her mouth and laughed
Ryan frowned.
“Are you laughing at me?” He asked.

“No… I’m mourning over the fact that almighty Ryan, king of the girls, can’t ask a girl out.” She said in a giggle.
Ryan bit his lower lip.
“Hey! I’m not asking you out!” He denied.
“You’re not? Obviously.” Trisha said with a roll of her eyes and continued walking.
“Yes, I’m not. I was just inviting you to see the movie, not asking you out!” He defended, feeling the heat in his face.

Trisha hid a smile.
Seriously, Ryan? That’s the best you could come up with.
She shrugged
“Suit yourself, redface!” She said cockily.
Shit! Was the blush on his face that noticeable??
Ryan groaned in annoyance.
Was it really necessary for her to tell him she noticed that he was blushing furiously.
Dmn, Ryan. Blushing is for girls.
