CHAPTER 44
OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT
Mitchell got into Emperor’s car and slammed back the door.
” You left the office to visit me?” She asked and Emperor threw his head backwards, gulping down.
” There is a huge problem.” He said and turned to face her.
” What is it about?” She asked.
” My parent are back and I really need to act like I have a fiancée. I need you to do this for me.” He said, giving her a passionate gaze.
” Wait. You need me to act like a fiancée to you?” She asked.
Emperor sat up and held her hands.
” I know you can’t understand why I’m doing this. I’ll explain after this whole turmoil is over and…”
” Of course!.” Mitchell suddenly yelled with excitement. ” I can definitely act like a fiancée and guess what, I have enough skills.” She winked at him.
Emperor stared at her looking startled. She leaned closer to him, smiling widely.
” If you also need me to act like a wife, it’s no problem. I can do the two at once.” She said and Emperor jaw dropped again.
This girl…
She was always making him speechless all the time. But this time, she got him totally.
” In fact. Let’s start acting now!. I can’t just wait any longer!.” She screamed, dragging hold of his necktie.

LIAM’S MANSION
Liam and May were sitting on the same sofa in the livingroom while his parents took over the long sofa.
Some powerful men were behind them and the environment was so tensed that May couldn’t breath normally again.
She had never set eyes on Liam’s parent before and seeing them now, she was totally not prepared.
She clung onto Liam like he was her life and all.
Soon, Emperor walked in with Mitchell and they were holding hands, knotting fingers together.
” Good morning dad.” Emperor greeted with a bow and his father only stared at him without answering his greeting.
His father was wearing a perfectly carved suit that was made for him.
He was looking so young that anyone would hardly know he was between his late seventies.
” Who’s this?” His mom, Cassandra, spoke up. A tall slim lady of noble statue.
” Oh. This is…”
” I’m Mitchell. His fiancée.” She spoke up boldly and Liam and May suddenly snapped their gazes at them.
” Fiancée?” Liam asked, raising his brows.
Emperor coughed.
” Yes. She is.” He said.
Cassandra stared at her husband and they both nodded with a frown.
She turned to face them.
” Since everyone is here. Let’s wait for them.” She said and by “them” Emperor already knew what they meant.
” Please. I need to know why we are having this gathering.” Liam said, being the confused one.
” You don’t know?.” His father asked.
” If I knew, I wouldn’t ask.” He grinned and his father laughed.
” Get surprised then.” He said and kept mute.
The house felt silent again and everyone kept staring at eachother.
The clocked ticked faster..
The air became heavy and nothing was yet to happen.
May suddenly grabbed hold of Liam’s palm.
” Liam. I feel..weird. C..can I talk to you somewhere?” She asked carefully to avoid anyone staring at them.
Liam nodded and stood up.
” Please. Excuse us.” He said and picked May’s hand towards the kitchen.
May got in and breathed in softly as she sat on the dinning table.
” Liam. I don’t feel okay. I..I..” She stopped and covered her lips.
Liam quickly dragged her to the sink and she threw up in there.
He gave her a towel, staring at her intensely as she cleaned up her lips.
” What’s wrong?” He asked calmly.
” It’s just that I don’t know what’s wrong with me anymore. I. . .I always feel this urge to throw up. Maybe I’m sick. I just don’t know!” She complained and looked up at Liam’s eye.
The man himself had realised where the fault was coming from.
But he was confused because he could still very well remember their night together.
How come it entered.
